ALIVE LEARNING JOURNEY 6 April 2019 Our children had the opportunity to participate in the Singapore Maritime Academy gallery tour at Dover Road organized by PCH’s aLive programme . The
participants
learnt
about
Singapore's
maritime beginnings and its progression from a small trading post into a Global Hub Port. The Ship Bridge Stimulator enabled them to explore navigating various vessel types via story driven missions. The interactive system gave the kids a chance to experience being the captain of a ship!
YOUTH MENTORING PROGRAMME 21 April 2019 One youth volunteer returned for an Interaction Programme with the children. They played some games and the children were proud to show off their ukelele skills with the volunteers and share some skills with them too!

birthday party at PCH in the company of its residents. Our kids enjoyed the celebration with its goody bags and party food provided by her. PCH is grateful that Mdm Nuejeha shares the joy of celebrating her son's birthday with us.
IFTAR BY KFC KALLANG 9 May 2019 As customary in the fasting month of Ramadan, our kids were invited to break their fast by individuals and sponsors. One of the iftar event this year was hosted by KFC Kallang at Stadium Boulevard. The event was a completely new experience for the children. They were later entertained with Chicky Dance game, a magic show and the appearance of the mascot Colonel Sanders. Also present at the event was Member of Parliament Dr Faishal Ibrahim who engaged in in lively conversation with the children.The kids returned home with smiles upon receiving goodie bags and a full tummy. Thank you KFC for inviting PCH!
IFTAR BY DRAGON HEARTS SINGAPORE 24 May 2019 An iftar with Silat champion Sheik Farhan Bin Sheik Alauddin was a great honour. There, he endlessly motivated the kids to stay focus on their goals and not to feel defeated in any situations they are in. He highlighted on the importance of setting a goal for their future to keep the kids highly motivated and unbeaten. Goodie bags and green packets were given at the end of the event. IFTAR BY BEDOK POLICE DIVISION 27 May 2019 PCH would like to express our utmost gratitude to Bedok Police Division for the invite to  their annual iftar event. Our kids were spoilt for choice with the variety of scrumptious food provided. A huge sum of $14,325 cash was donated to us at the end of the event raised by our sponsors from Bedok themselves. Thank you loyal supporters for always remembering PCH!
GYMNASTICS OUTREACH PROGRAMME 19 June 2019 PCH had the opportunity to experience gymnastics first-hand as an introduction to the world of gymnastics by Ms Laila. Each resident was given a chance to try out different kinds of stunts such as horizontal pole, balance beam and many others. Each
of
these
exercises
contributes
to
the
development of arms, legs and abdominal muscle groups.
After
a
few
hours
of
jumping
and
balancing, the kids went back feeling rejuvenated and were eager to give it for another go. Thank you Prime Gymnastics Club for giving our kids an exposure to a new kind of sports!

“PERJUMPAAN HARI RAYA” BY BERITA HARIAN 20 June 2019 In celebration of the long awaited month of Syawal, Berita Harian has invited the children of PCH to join them and the community to celebrate Hari Raya in their organisation event. The children were eager to have met Mr Hady Mirza as the guest artist and were excited to be part of this honorable event. Conversations were exchanged among them in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Goodie bags and green packets were given at the end of the event to elevate their excitement for this eventful month. Thank you Mr Farid Hamzah for inviting and engaging our kids in this social event!
AWARDS DAY 22 June 2019 After a year of hard work and sweat, PCH took a day to acknowledge the children’s effort and was awarded with certificates and Popular’s book vouchers and gifts. 14 residents were celebrated for their outstanding academic achievements for all
level
of
study.
Prizes
and
meals
were
sponsored by Tanglin CC for all the attendees. PCH was honored with the presence of our Guest of Honor Mr Steven Lee, Chairman of Tanglin CC accompanied by his team members. As a mark of appreciation to the sponsors, the residents put up a dikir barat performance to entertain the guests. Thank you Tanglin CC for making this event a success!

MSF-SPONSORED MOVIE OUTING 24 June 2019 Once again, MSF has treated our kids to a movie outing to watch the all-time favorite movie sequel “Toy Story 4” at Eagle wings Cinematics. The kids enjoyed the heart-warming family movie while munching on a box of popcorn each. They returned to PCH with wide smiles on their faces saying that they have been waiting to watch this movie upon the release. Thank you MSF for the given opportunity and for fulfilling their yearning hearts!
BOWLING NIGHT BY BCD 28 June 2019 BCD Travel had once again extended PCH to attend their staff bowling night held at Kallang Bowl. Not only were the kids able to have a night out, but they were also given the opportunity to display their bowling skills. The night was filled with fun and laughter with the kids hitting strikes after strikes while making new friends. Event was topped

and
scrumptious
food
sponsored by our friends. Our heartiest thank you goes to BCD for organising such memorable night.

BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE INDUCTION 13 April 2019 PCWG conducted our induction program with our long-time, partner the ‘Beautiful People’ sisters for the 11th cycle of My Beautiful Life program. My Beautiful
Life
is
an
intensive
mentoring
programme for girls that takes place over the course of a year. Through “My Beautiful Life” program, the Beautiful People big sisters aim to empower our Little Sisters with the life-skills and relationships to help them navigate through their life. Looking forward to another successful year of collaboration with Beautiful People!
MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION GIFT CARDS 29 April 2019 To honor all mothers of the family, proxy mothers as well as maternal bonds forged, our girls unleash their creativity by designing handmade gift cards to all maternal figures in their life. They also took the opportunity to express their heartfelt thanks and love for their mothers by penning down a special messages for them in the personalized cards. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there and thank you for all the love and sacrifices you have done for us!

GRAND IFTAR INVITE AT MASJID HAJI YUSOFF 18 May 2019 10 residents and 2 staffs were invited to attend a Grand Iftar event held at Masjid Haji Yusoff. Our residents were treated to a scrumptious iftar meal before attending a sermon. Thank you, brothers and sisters, from Masjid Haji Yusoff for the continuous support and collaboration!
PCWG GRAND IFTAR 18 May 2019 PCWG held its own Grand Iftar and Mother’s Day Celebrations. Families were invited and it was heartening to see the families and our girls breaking their fast together. PCWG also invited Ustaz Nuzhan who gave a talk on the Importance of Family Relationships and Responsibilities of Family Members in relation to our Mother’s Day Celebrations. PCWG would like to share our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to Lighting Hearts Lighting Homes for their support and contribution making the day a memorable and special one for all our girls and their families. We are also thankful for the support and contributions made by our mentoring groups, Beautiful People and Women’s on a Mission. Thank you all for always supporting our girls!

CITIZEN FARM OUTING 11 June 2019 The residents were brought to Citizen Farm at Penjara Road where they got to learn more on farming. They were also given the opportunity to go on a tour around the Insect Farm, Outdoor Organic
Garden,
Mushrooms
Cultivation
and
Indoor Microgreen Cultivation. The girls had a fun time learning!
SERVICE LEARNING AT WILLING HEARTS 19 June 2019 40 Girls were selected to participate in a Service Learning activity at Willing Hearts Singapore, an initiative by PCWG. The girls were made to help out in the preparation of ingredients, packing of lunch boxes and cleaning and washing. The service learning activities has provided our residents with opportunities to develop civic engagement skills. By working with community members, they can also enhance on their group, organizational and interpersonal skills. They also can

DRAGON BOATING @ SINGAPORE DRAGON BOAT ASSOCIATION 26 June 2019 During
the
June
holidays,
MSF
has
kindly
sponsored a Dragon boat lesson for our residents at the Singapore Dragon Boat Association. By overcoming the challenges in Dragon boating, our girls were given to opportunity to learn on the importance
of
teamwork
and
towards
being
resilient!
SAILING YOUTH AMBASSADORS 25-30 June 2019 5 girls were selected to participate in the Sailing Youth Ambassadors (SYA) programme. Under the SYA programme, our beneficiaries will be trained as future student leaders who can represent Singapore Sailing as Youth ambassadors. They will be representing Singapore Sailing on various platforms and share their findings and learning experiences with other youths in their community and members of the public.

CONNECTING THROUGH COLORS ART PROGRAM 10 June 2019 to 18 July 2019 Lessons are conducted by a renowned artist and Therapist, Mdm Vijaya Mohan. The art programme provides an opportunity for our girls to learn as they
explore
art
materials
and
the
creative
process of taking ideas from within and bringing them into existence. It provides an outlet for our girls to express and regulate their emotions through various arts medium that are available.

PADDLE FOR CHARITY 4 May 2019 On that day, residents are required to row a dragon boat around Jurong Lake. This event was organized by Passion Wave Jurong Lake for SouthWest
CDC.

SouthWest CDC pledges to donate $50 to the beneficiaries. Our team managed to row for the trial lap. Eventually, the event was cancelled due to lightning alert. All activities were ceased thereafter. Nonetheless, SouthWest CDC will invite us for the next upcoming event.

INTER-DORMITORY FUTSAL COMPETITION 15 June 2019 New Spice Up day was converted to our InterDormitory Futsal Competition on this day. Total of 5 dormitories and one team of PHH staffs participated in this event. Prizes in the form of hampers was sponsored from our internal fund. Top 3 teams and 2 consolation prizes which includes Best Player and Best Team Combination. It was a successful Saturday morning event with the support from PHH management and staffs.

INTERACTION WITH PERSATUAN SANG NILA UTAMA 6 April 2019 Alumni members of the Persatuan Sang Nila Utama came for an interaction session with the residents. There were various games played on that day. The day was made more memorable when there were veteran artists who came to entertain the residents as well. They engaged the residents in riddles and songs and the veterans also sang some of their popular songs. The day ended with them eating lunch together and also handing out of goodie bags. Thank you Persatuan Sang Nila Utama for visiting the residents!
INTERACTION WITH ITE SIMEI STUDENTS 16 April 2019 Students from ITE Simei came down to the centre for an interaction session with the residents. There were various activities done, such as bingo and
craft
activities
done
on
that
day.
The
decorative art pieces done by the residents were also displayed on the walls which made the home colourful. Thank You for spending time with the residents and we hope to see you again!
PERTAPIS SENIOR CITIZENS FELLOWSHIP HOME
INTERACTION WITH MASJID YUSOFF ISYAK 27 April 2019 Youths from Masjid Yusof Ishak visited PSCFH and involved the residents in a craft activity of tile painting and coloring. The art pieces were made from scratch by the students and completed by coloring and painting by the residents. It was a good inter-generational bonding with the residents who enjoyed the session! The completed art pieces were then kept by the residents as a memory of that session. Thank you youths for coming and we hope to see you again soon!

KUIH RAYA MAKING 16 May 2019 Since Raya is approaching, a Kuih Raya making programme was conducted for the residents. They made traditional treats such as pineapple tarts and honey cornflakes. The programme certainly set the mood for Raya for the residents. They managed to relive the activities that they had when they were younger and were certainly very knowledgeable in the making of these treats!
IFTAR BY THE TURKISH CULTURAL CENTRE 29 May 2019 The residents at PSCFH was invited by the Turkish Cultural Centre to Iftar at Donergy, a Turkish restaurant
located
at
Millenia
Walk.
They
managed to have a new experience in the Turkish culture and food. The residents really enjoyed the food and are very appreciative of the invitation. We hope to meet you again in the future!
TREAT BY MR CALVIN CHEE & FAMILY 5 June 2019 On the morning of Raya, Calvin and his family and friends came over to the centre and brought Hari Raya food for the residents. The buffet consisted of malay traditional food which the residents really loved! The residents also managed to interact and exchange Hari Raya wishes with each other. It was certainly a great start to Hari Raya for the residents. Thank You and we hope to see you again!

POTONG PASIR CC’S HARI RAYA DINNER EVENT 15 June 2019 PSCFH
were
invited
to
a
Hari
Raya
dinner
organised by Potong Pasir Community Centre. The event consisted of performances by well-known celebrities. The resident certainly loved all the performances. The food served was also the favourite part of the night for all the residents as they were served classic Hari Raya dishes. It was certainly a night to remember! Thank You Potong Pasir CC for inviting the residents!
INTERACTION WITH KFC 18 June 2019 KFC came to PSCFH for an interaction session with
the
residents.
They
performed
some
P.Ramlee songs as well as dance. The residents were also enjoying themselves as they joined the singing and dancing. KFC donated some fried chicken and fries as well for the residents to enjoy. Thank You KFC and we hope to see you again!
FOOD & HOSPITALITY BY ROYAL PLAZA ON SCOTTS 27 June 2019 PSCFH was happy to welcome Royal Plaza on Scotts to the home. They arranged a buffet set-up as well for the residents to enjoy. Being a regular donor, the residents are familiar with the staffs. This made them comfortable to interact with them. The food served were definitely well-liked by the residents. Thank You Royal Plaza on Scotts, and we hope to see you again!

CARE & SHARE 2019 BY YEW TEE MAEC 12 May 2019 As many as 13 TAJ families were invited to the breaking fast event- Care & Share 2019, organised by MAEC Yew Tee. Other than breaking fast with the
residents
of
Yew
Tee,
they
were
also
entertained with a Qasidah performance and sharing session regarding the fasting month especially for the non-muslims.
BURSARY PRESENTATION 2 June 2019 10 TAJ students were invited by the Buddha of Medicine Welfare Society to receive their bursary awards at the  Bursary Presentation cum Vesak Day Carnival held by the organisation at the open field near Aljunied Avenue 2. About 100 children ranging
from
primary
to
tertiary
education
students attended the event.
SUSS CAMPUS TOUR 29 June 2019 TAJ Children and youths along with children from Fei Yue Student Care were given the opportunity to go for a campus tour at Singapore University of Social Sciences. Activities were organized by the students of SUSS, also known as their mentors. This collaboration has enabled both children and youths from the 2 organisations to know more about each other and foster racial harmony values.

PERTAPIS STAFF NIGHT 6 April 2019 To thank all the valuable staffs of Pertapis, the annual Staff Night was held at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Dressing up to the theme ‘Bollywood Night’, the guests were dressed in an array of colors and traditional Indian outfits such as the saree and kurta. A Bhangra performance by Joshiley Bhangra entertained the guests and staffs were selected to join them on stage as they give a quick tutorial on the Bhangra dance. It was a night full of laughter and all smiles with games and best dressed competition held. To commemorate the Long Service staffs, an award presentation was also held. To sum the event up, a mass Lucky Draw took place to ensure no one leaves the hall empty handed. To all valuable employees of Pertapis, thank you for your hard work and dedication towards giving back to the community!
MAJOR EVENTS
CARE & SHARE 27 April 2019 A mass food ration distribution was given to the invited guests before the month of Ramadhan. Dr Maliki Osman was also invited as Guest of Honor, shared the importance of practicing a healthy living and other ways of looking for help at the newly launched Wisma Geylang Serai. Cheque presentations by our esteemed donors were also presented to Dr Maliki Osman on stage.
MAJOR EVENTS
IFTAR 22 May 2019 Over 2000 guests were accommodated for the mass breaking fast held at the Pertapis Halfway House. Guest of Honor, Minister for Education, Mr Ong Ye Kung, further enliven the event with his presence and distributed alms and ration to the beneficiaries. At the end of the day, donation in kind from members of the public were also displayed for the beneficiaries to choose from. Pertapis

performances were put up for the Pertapis Wanita and

members.
An
annual

gathering as a form of appreciation for being passionate volunteers and actively involved in our fundraising activities, the guests sure had a lot of fun! The event was hosted by Sharin Azhar and entertained by performances by local singers such as Lynn Malik, Fido Ahdross, Ryzal Noh and Eddy Ali. Certificate presentation were also presented to selected volunteers who had dedicated their time for PERTAPIS. Accompanied by traditional Hari
