Sam Young joined the organization in 2020. Under Sam’s leadership, the affiliate has become the ninth highest producing Habitat for Humanity affiliate in the nation out of over 1,100 others, and establishing the Northwest Florida Community Land Trust to further expand access to stable housing A former U S Navy captain and naval aviator, Sam brings operational discipline and strategic vision from his military career to his executive role. In recognition of his impact in the community, he was named 2024 Community Leader of the Year by the Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce He has also been appointed to a seat on the Federal Reserve Board’s Community Advisory Council.

In reality, our homebuyers are hardworking members of the local workforce people who may be working full- or part-time jobs but still can’t afford a safe, stable home in today’s housing market. Our Homebuyer Program supports individuals and families ready to purchase a home of their own. Designed for households earning between 60%–80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), the program often serves our community’s essential workforce nurses, teachers, first responders, single parents, and more
Our Community Land Trust (CLT) program offers an affordable step into homeownership for households earning between 30%–120% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Acting as a next step from renting, this model allows buyers to purchase the home but not the land resulting in lower monthly mortgage costs Homeowners still build equity from the home while helping maintain long-term affordability in the community.
Not yet ready to buy a home? That’s okay! We offer HUD Housing Counseling to help educate and create a plan for individuals who hope to one day purchase their own home Clients will learn sound financial habits and strategies such as creating a sustainable and balanced household budget, a credit improvement plan and a debt repayment plan.
Our Rental Program is the newest option for individuals and families seeking affordable housing and stability. We understand that not everyone is ready to buy a home and that’s okay With a limited number of homes available, this program provides a quality rental opportunity for those working toward long-term housing goals.

There are many ways to support Pensacola Habitat for Humanity beyond home sponsorships. Our ReStore offers new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, home décor, and more every purchase helps fund our mission You can also donate goods to the ReStore or volunteer your time there! We also welcome construction site volunteers Tuesday through Saturday to help frame homes for individuals and families in our program. Construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and no prior experience is needed just a willingness to make a difference.
