COMMERCIAL FRUIT GROWING

OUR MACHINES PUT TO THE TEST DURING ALMOND HARVESTING IN AUSTRALIA

An important first for our teams in the commercial fruit growing business line as they demonstrated the BUGGY and EXPAND machines during the almond harvesting season in Australia. The demonstrations were conducted in late February and early March in Riverland and Mildura, two Australian regions that are home to vast almond plantations spanning several thousand hectares.

The demonstrations were an initiative led by: Fakhri Souissi, director of the ARBO machines for fruit growers department and Landry Leray, a technical inspector, both of whom are based in Pertuis, France. They were also joined by representatives from our Australian teams: Director of PELLENC AUSTRALIA Jean Vittot, Luke Bennet, sales manager of our Australian subsidiary, as well as several local dealers.

BUGGY demonstrations in the vast almond plantations of Southern Australia.

The aim was to showcase PELLENC's tree-shaking machines—technology that we have been honing for over 30 years. Three seconds of vibration delivered by the BUGGY shakes loose 95% of the fruit and drops it on to the EXPAND tarpaulin below, which is rolled out to catch the falling fruit before it ever reaches the ground. Our prospective customers had the chance to see the many advantages of these two machines working in tandem: gentle on the environment, reduced soil compaction, lower fuel consumption, and better harvest quality.

The future seems bright for the EXPAND in Australia, and even more so for the BUGGY!

A CHANCE TO CATCH UP WITH OUR FRENCH DISTRIBUTORS GCT CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES

Since the beginning of the year, and more intensively in February, the sales teams dedicated to GCT (Green City Technology) tools—part of the Battery Tools BU—travelled around France presenting our tools and service offers to our network of distributors.

The Product Life teams were also represented, in particular to showcase their service offers, including maintenance contracts and warranty extensions available for the entire Battery Tools range.

The product launches took place all across France—sometimes in surprising venues— including Stade Rennais, Domaine La Castelette, Château du Sans Souci, and Château Nicolas Feuillate.

Successful launches, well-received product presentations, and constructive discussions took place at each of the gatherings!

TECHNICAL INSPECTORS PROVIDING ASSISTANCE IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE

PELLENC technical inspectors recently travelled to South Africa and New Zealand to lend their assistance to local winegrowers and commercial fruit growers. The agenda for the trip included technical assistance, maintenance, training, as well as field tests with front-mounted shakers, grape harvesters, and EOLE sprayers.

In South Africa, Thomas Gasquet provided technical assistance to the local customer AGRIMARK GRAIN RIEBEEK-WES, based near the town of Paarl. He provided expertise and advice on setting up and operating a shaker arm mounted on the front end of the customer's tractor.

Landry Leray went all the way to Martinborough, New Zealand to assist local customer CRAGGY RANGE, a customer with two OPTIMUM machines (a 690 and an L10). He also assisted a second customer with troubleshooting on an EOLE 3000 sprayer. Landry made that second trip just a few days before Cyclone Gabrielle made landfall in New Zealand, battering the

THE PRODUCT LIFE TEAMS PROMOTING THEIR SERVICE OFFERS IN THE SUBSIDIARIES

Inlate February, Lucas Bernigaud, coordinator of the PELLENC BOURGOGNE subsidiary, was joined by Marine d'Allard, Product Life marketing manager and Christophe Dabasse, Product Life service promoter, to meet the technical and sales teams of our subsidiaries in the Champagne and Burgundy regions.

The goal was to get to know each other better, learn about each other's practices, identify customer service needs, and help the subsidiaries grow their network of customer-users. One of the showcased services was "PELLENC PROTECT", which includes a range of packages for extended warranties of up to 5 years, depending on the product, to supplement the manufacturer's warranty.

Following these visits, the local teams had a better understanding of how to sign up customers for extended warranties and service offers in general, and some fruitful contracts were signed!

EMPLOYEES GATHER FOR AN OENOLOGY CLASS PERA-PELLENC

Anne-Claire Bonneau and Jean-Luc Favarel, two winemaking experts from PERA-PELLENC, passed on some of their know-how to the subsidiary's employees in an oenology course.

This opening session of the course brought together 12 people with a shared objective: to understand the different stages involved in winemaking and the role of PELLENC equipment in that process. This knowledge has real added value for the employees, who will now be able to view the machines with an expert eye!

Several training courses are planned throughout the year to enable the employees to further hone their knowledge of the winemaking process. A great initiative from the subsidiary!

BETTER SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT FOR INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY PELLENC CHINA

The global supply chain process has changed dramatically in recent months due to transport issues that have arisen as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Improving the delivery rate, minimizing the investment tied up in stock-on-hand, and increasing capital liquidity have become the most effective ways for companies to remain competitive. For PELLENC CHINA, the challenge is to continuously improve production times and manage stock levels to improve the subsidiary’s business performance.

A range of measures have been taken to achieve that goal, including fine-tuning the settings in the planning tools, more stringent management of purchase orders for battery cells, and a reduction in single purchase amounts.

According to a Chinese proverb: "Even if the path is long, you will get there, even if the task is difficult, it will be accomplished". The PELLENC CHINA teams have a long road to travel, but they will keep going and get there in the end!
