I Feel So Bad: this is a Psalm of Lament, unrelieved and with no turnaround point. We stay in the darkness, suffering with the Psalmist.
• Is it okay to lament like this in the life of faith? Lament tradition tells us that consolation follows lament.
• You may suffer, but you don’t have to suffer in silence. And even Jesus lamented!
I Feel So Bad that I’m Mad: When we suffer, we can get angry. Is it my fault? Is it your fault? Or is this God’s fault? We can even be angry with God. We have a lot of unanswered questions and we want someone to blame.
• Is it OK to be angry with God? “Acts of God”; is God to blame for our suffering? Or is it a mystery, a part of the human condition?
I Feel So Bad that I Forgot: We can become so full of suffering that we forget everything we ever knew or believed about God.
• What do we know for sure about God? About Jesus?
• Is Darkness really our only friend? Or is that a lie? “I will be with you” in Scripture. Don’t let the Darkness lie to you.
• So many ways to find support in the darkness: Pastors, Healing Prayer, Lifegate, Stephen Ministers, Divorce Recovery, Griefshare, 12 Step Groups
Let nothing go to waste. Tell your story so it can be a roadmap for someone who is lost in their pain. Make sure that the mess that almost killed you, has purpose, and an end.

How did the Church begin, and where is it headed today? What does it mean to be part of a local church in America—and how do we relate to Christians worshipping in underground gatherings across the world?
This 3-week Sunday morning class explores the Church from three angles: its historical roots, its American expressions, and its global realities—especially where believers endure persecution for their faith. In our final session, we’ll hear from Rev. Dr. Sasan Tavassoli, a former Shi’ite Muslim from Iran who came to faith in Christ through American missionaries. Now a Presbyterian pastor and missionary with the Outreach Foundation, he brings decades of experience serving the Iranian and Persian-speaking Church and will offer a powerful firsthand look at the global Body of Christ.
Whether you’re new to the faith or a longtime member, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the Church as a living, global Body shaped by Scripture, history, culture, and the Spirit of God. Join us for an honest, hopeful look at how Christ’s Church has taken shape through the centuries—and what it means for us today.
