Warning of Smear Campaign New Poll: Danilo's Lead is shrinking / One month left until the Elections / Observation A little more than a month is left until the Dominicans can choose their new president and all other political representatives in general elections. To date, the campaign runs relatively quiet, as most assume that President Danilo Medina will be reelected and opposition candidate Luis Abinader with his newly founded party anyway has no chance against the well-established and financially best-equipped team of the PLD, which also has most of the national press on its side. Also in all published polls Medina lays well ahead of Abinader. Only in polls on the internet and in television shows, where callers could vote directly, it often looks the other way around. In reports on the so-called “caravanas”, in which the candidates and their entourage roam the country, it was always said that the victory of the PLD was inevitable. But every time the number of votes dropped for Medina and the votes for Abinader rose, alarm bells were ringing in the PLD. The latest survey end of March by the American Zogby Analytics has certainly not helped to appease. Because President Medina was at 49.1 percent, only slightly ahead of Abinader who got the votes of 44.3 percent of the respondents.

labeled as corrupt, while it was “themselves, who were engaged in repeated cases of corruption”. In addition, 70 percent of the officials in the three and a half years, in which they are in the government, have not submitted the affidavit of their assets, as required by law, to prove that the personal wealth was not augmented by corruption. How nervous meanwhile are some in the PLD, shows the warning of Tourism Minister Francisco Javier García, the opposition party PRM was planning a “smear campaign”. In the next days, Abinader will publish a survey in which various ministers, including himself, will be defined as corrupt. “This is a common practice in the Dominican Republic,” García said. “Candidates who feel beaten, take refuge in this kind of action.” However, this type of action always turns up against those who initiate it at the end. The coordinator of the PRM campaign, Roberto Furcal, called this warning a “smokescreen”, because the PLD was worried about the course of the election campaign. The officials were afraid of being

To guarantee a peaceful electoral process, Secretary of Defense William Máximo Muñoz Delgado announced that between 57,000 and 60,000 military and police officers will monitor the polling stations. In addition, a commission of the Organization of American States (OAS) will come to the country in April to observe the elections. The JCE (Central Election Commission) signed an agreement with the OAS, after which its members may move and inform themselves before, during and after the elections freely and without interference. The JCE also invited the American Embassy and other international agencies and organizations to observe the elections on the 15th of May. On the other hand, the application of the civil rights movement Participación Ciudadana (PC) was not approved for election observation by the JCE, although it was submitted in December 2015. According to itself, the PC met with all the requirements of the JCE and was entitled to observe all elections since 1996. Also the request to recount three percent of the votes by hand has not yet been approved.

First of all, a Wall Election Program of the right-wing FNP / Against Pornography / Danilo Medina at SI The Fuerza Nacional Progresista (FNP) is one of the traditional parties of the Dominican Republic. It was founded by Marino Vinicio “Vincho” Castillo in 1980 and defines itself as rightliberal but is considered as extreme right-wing by its opponents. The party is practically in the hands of the Castillo family. “Vincho's” son Pelegrín is the chairman of the party, which was a faithful ally of the ruling party PLD since the foundation until it separated from its ally last year because, according to the FNP, President Danilo Medina was much too lenient in dealing with Haiti and the illegal Haitian immigrants. “Vincho's” other son, “Vinicito”, was one of the spokesmen and persons behind the campaign against the president. The final reason for the separation was Medina's announcement to run for reelection, which is, according to the FNP, a breach of the constitution.

Now presidential candidate Pelegrín Castillo declared that the first thing he would do is to build a wall on the border with Haiti, before he even introduces his cabinet. But the wall was no express partitioning-off against Haiti. There are walls in 63 countries of the world, argues Pelegrín. In addition, he would ensure that the United States withdraw their gay ambassador “Wally"” Brewster. The center of the FNP policy is the family that consists of a man and a woman. “The attack, which is led against the family, is an attack against society and the human race,” says Pelegrín Castillo. José Alberto Ortiz, FNP candidate as deputy for the National District, announced a merciless fight against pornography. This industry has destroyed millions of lives all over the world, and it will not be accepted that this phenomenon will infest the Dominican Republic.

Danilo Medina is the first candidate of the PLD, who was allowed to speak before the Socialist International (SI). At a meeting of the SI in Santo Domingo, Medina said, the PLD and its new partner and former opponent, the PRD, member of the SI, have to serve the common goal, the interests of the Dominican people. “To extend the social gains. To bring prosperity to the Dominican men and women. And to work for a country in peace, in which each person has the same rights and opportunities to be happy. We know that these are also the principles that move the Socialist International.” PLD and PRD examined, as the Socialist International, how to reduce inequality, improve citizen participation and build just and fraternal states. The President castigated corruption and warned that the worst consequence of this crime is that this unhealthy way to promote social mobility is developing a “culture”, in which it is considered to be something normal. This is a culture of fraud in place of a culture of work.

Biggest Solar Power Plant Expedia: Dominican Republic Best Caribbean Travel Destination / More visiting Whales

President Danilo Medina inaugurated the first solar park in the Dominican Republic in Monte Plata, which is not only the largest in the Caribbean, but at the same time throughout whole Latin America. “Monte Plata Solar” was built by the Taiwanese company General Energy Solutions (GES) with an investment of 110 million dollars and is the biggest investment of a company from Taiwan in the country and throughout the region. The solar park with 132,000 panels and thousand solar inverters will feed 30 megawatts into the Interconnected National Electric System (Seni) and avoid approximately 36 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions into the environment. The head of the State power company CDEEE, Rubén Bichara, said the solar park will contribute significatively to diversify the national energy mix. The director of the Center for Imports and Exports of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD), Jean Alain Rodríguez, called the solar park a historic project for the country, it was a significant investment. In the normal operation, about 150 people will find direct work in the solar park. During the construction phase up to 500 workers were employed.

The American online travel agency Expedia, which apart from the United States operates in 31 other countries, with a turnover of 5.7 billion dollars in 2014, has chosen the Dominican Republic at the best Caribbean Travel Destination. Magaly Toribio, Marketing Advisor in the Ministry of Tourism, said: “We are extremely impressed with our increase in the influx of visitors looking for our beautiful scenery and culture, that captivates them. The efforts of our Ministry are an example of our commitment.”

Expedia.com evaluated the performance of each country in the Caribbean, and the Dominican Republic was visited by 4.6 million tourists in 2013 and had a record increase in the demands by 33 percent, which made the country to the market with the highest growth in the region. Since last year, the Dominican Republic is one of the most visited destinations of American tourists, of whom 1.5 million arrived.

The Bay of Samaná, together with the Bancos (shoals) de la Plata and de la Navidad is the largest protected area in the country with a total of nearly 33,000 square kilometers (12,700 square miles). During the winter months, every year the humpback whales come from the cold regions of the North Atlantic to the tropical warm waters here for courting and calving. This tremendous spectacle meanwhile has developed a tourist attraction of the first rank. Every year the number of visitors increases who want to take a look at one of these giants of the sea. The male humpback whales weigh up to 40 tons and can be up to 16 meters long. During the season for whale watching, the number of visitors in 2016 increased by 19 percent compared to last year. During last year, 44,900 domestic and foreign visitors wanted to see the humpback whales. This year there came already 55,519 tourists, the Bay of Samaná with 42,056 guests was the most visited place. According to Environment Minister Bautista Rojas, with these figures this year's expectations were exceeded. There are many small and big companies that bring the visitors close to the whales in boats and ships.

Water Shortage intensifying Empty Reservoirs / Minou: The only Country with Growth that did not reduce Poverty

It's not yet even summer, but it is already becoming apparent that the lack of drinking water in the country will further exacerbate this year. So there have been reports from the northwest that cattle was dying of thirst. The Association for Water and Wastewater in Santiago (CORAASAN) called on the population of the region to be sparing with water end of March. In recent weeks, the situation has dramatically worsened, since the drinking water that comes from the reservoir dam Tavera-Bao, is no longer sufficient to supply the population. And rains worth mentioning are not in sight. The water level of the reservoir falls daily by up to ten centimeters (four inches). At a time in which the water level should be at 324 meters (1,063 feet) above sea level, it is in reality only at 313.9 meters (1,030 feet), which is about ten meters (33 feet) lower than normal. Darío Fernández, spokesman of CORAASAN, said, “CORAASAN had to call for the allocating or rationing of drinking water in the regions that get more, to send it to other sectors suffering from lack of water.” CORAASAN currently produces 104 million gallons of drinking water per day, but the demand of the consumers is at 130 million gallons per day.

Also in Santo Domingo North and East, water shortage arises earlier than usual this year. Residents of these neighborhoods sometimes have to wait up to 15 days until they get water. If the water then arrives, every time there are long queues at the distribution points. Some residents are forced to buy five-liter gallons of drinking water so that they can take a bath. Others buy water from the water trucks at 1,200 pesos per load. Only those who have cisterns can bridge those long periods without water. The Association for Water and Wastewater of Santo Domingo (CAASD) says, the reason for these shortages is the repair of three well fields. Director Alejandro Montás said that the contractor of CAASD have removed the pipes to repair them. Water still is supplied, only the frequency had to be reduced. His spokesman Fidel Sánchez said, for regular water supply, the companies also need to be provided with a stable power supply, which is not the case. Another problem in this area is that when the water finally arrives in the tubes, there is no pressure, so that pumps are required to transport the liquid to the apartments.

Minou Tavárez Mirabal, presidential candidate of the parties Alianza por la Democracia, Opción Democrática (not approved by the electoral authority) and Nueva Democracia, reported on a study by the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), that the Dominican Republic is among the countries, which had an economic growth, but poverty was not reduced. Minou said, the country had the highest growth in the region from 2010 to 2014, but is the country that has reduced poverty the least. This shows that the state did not use its income for the improving of the living conditions of the people. The report “Social Panorama of Latin America” brought to light the enormous contradiction that exists in the Dominican Republic, between an economy with high growth and a minimum reduction of poverty. Other countries with a far lower growth, such as Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru or Colombia reduced poverty by two thirds or more, while here it is just 6.3 percent. “The country has had more than enough funds to virtually eradicate poverty, but it has not done it”, says Minou.

Elections in Haiti postponed again Electoral Council does not feel bound by Agreements / Haiti asks for humanitarian Aid

The old Haitian political caste that despised ex-president Michel Martelly as a lateral entrant and made it as difficult as possible for him to govern to accuse him of incompetence, now show impressively that they can not do better themselves. Thus, two months after Martelly's leaving as president on the 7th of February, still no elections for a successor are in sight. Interim President Jocelerme Privert has sworn two new prime ministers within two weeks after he removed Martelly's Premier Evans Paul from office. The first new prime minister was Fritz A. Jean, who was not recognized by Martelly's party PHTK since his appointment violated the agreement between Martelly and the presidents of the National Congress. They would not accept that the interim president and the new prime minister come from the same political grouping. So Enex Saint Charles was chosen as the new prime minister, who promised in the swearing-in ceremony, that within the next 24 hours he will appoint a new Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) that will assure that the already twice canceled second round of the presidential elections could finally be carried out.

He actually kept this, and the ambassadors of the so-called “Core Group” in Haiti, consisting of the ambassadors of the United States, the European Union, Brazil, Canada, France, Spain and the Special Envoy of the OAS and the Minustah, welcomed the new CEP, “We call for an end to the electoral process, which was started last year.” After having been postponed twice, the second round of the presidential and senatorial elections should now be held on the 24th of April, so the new president can take office on the 14th of May, as Michel Martelly five years ago. But nothing of this will happen. After the new Electoral Council had promised to hold “honest, transparent elections with the participation of all,” the chairman of the CEP, Léopold Berlanger (photo), announced, that the election on the 24th of April will not take place. Because the Electoral Council did not feel bound by the agreements between Martelly and Privert. “We are an independent institution which is imbedded in the constitution and the electoral law. It is clearly established that the Council has the right to determine, within which period elections can be held.” It also was not its task to check the results of the first round, as it is required by the G-8, the eight candidates opposed to the PHTK candidate, but which did not yet happen. At the moment it was not possible to determine a new date. First, the blockade between the different parties must be resolved before the election process can be set in motion again.

Haiti and the United Nations (UN) are asking for help to finance of a plan for humanitarian aid to alleviate the most urgent needs of the population. The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is asking international donors for 193 million dollars to fund this plan. But it is not only necessary to help just in the short term, but to seek lasting solutions to the humanitarian problems of the poorest country of the region. The manifold problems of the families and especially the food shortages require a quick reaction to prevent a worsening of the humanitarian situation. In recent months, 70 percent of the crops were destroyed in Haiti due to the El Niño phenomenon. 3.6 million Haitians are starving today. Furthermore, 1.6 million live under severe food shortages. The further continuing of the cholera epidemic in which already 9,000 people have died, the 60,000 people, who still have no accommodation after the January 2010 earthquake, as well as the vulnerability of thousands of exiles and fugitives from the Dominican Republic that have no livelihoods and no familiar connections in Haiti are also some of the other major challenges that have to be solved.

“We do not need Gifts of the Empire” Fidel Castro on Obama's Visit / Trump wants to block “Remittances” for Wall on Border After the historic visit of US President Barack Obama to the former arch-enemy Cuba, Fidel Castro analyzed the speech to the Cuban people. In his “Reflexiones”, an irregularly appearing column of the now 89-year-old leader of the Cuban Revolution, who ousted the US-backed dictator Fulgencio Batista in 1959 and expropriated the American landowners and mafiosi and threw them out of the country, he wrote under the title “Hermano Obama” that Cuba does not need gifts of the “empire”, as he calls the United States. “We are able, to produce the food and material wealth we need with the diligence and intelligence of our people.” At Obama's statements, it is the time to forget the past and look to the future, Castro said, Obama used words sweeter than honey, and he said, that the Cubans almost suffered a heart attack when they heard the US president calling the Cubans “friends, family and neighbors”. And this after the merciless ”blockade that has lasted almost 60 years. And those who have been killed in mercenary attacks on Cuban ships and ports, and an airplane full of passengers, which was exploded in flight, invasions of mercenaries and multiple acts of violence?” put Fidel Castro straight. He

also recalled the Bay of Pigs Invasion in 1961, “when an army of mercenaries, equipped with guns, armored personnel carriers and aircrafts, trained and accompanied by warships and aircraft carriers of the United States, attacked our country”. Nothing can justify this treacherous attack, in which Hundreds of Cubans were killed and wounded. The White House said that the criticism of the Cuban ex-president show that Obama's visit had the “intented effect”, in the sense that the pressure on the Cuban government will increase, so that the island will improve its respect for human rights. President Obama put straight publicly and privately “that the US commitment to human rights is solid as a rock”. The spokesman of the White House, Josh Earnest, said, “The reception of Obama by the Cuban people was much appreciated, as were the conversations that he could hold with Cuban officials.” Earnest also pointed out that two American journalists could ask questions on human rights on the island to President Raúl Castro at a press conference. “These are things that have never happened before, and I think that increases the pressure on the Cuban government. The response of the expresident Fidel Castro is a sign that the journey had the intended effect.” The spokesman of the State Department, John Kirby, responded to the criticism of Fidel, no one expected that the normalization of the relations after such a “problematic” history will be easy or quick. “The politics of the last 50 years did not work”, said Kirby. “We believe to have to commit ourselves to finally have normal relations with Cuba.”

In the primaries for the nomination of the presidential candidate of the Republican Party, there is no sandtrap that could be too big for Donald Trump, especially when it comes to the neighboring country of Mexico. After he called to build a high wall along the entire length of the US-Mexican border to deter illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America, which, however, must be paid by Mexico, because the United States would otherwise impose economic sanctions against Mexico, he now had a new idea, as how he will get the money for the wall, as Mexico naturally has rejected this absurd suggestion. In a two-page memorandum, published by the “Washington Post”, Trump explained his plan, as how he wants to get the eight billion dollars, which would cost the 1,600 kilometer long wall, according to his calculations. Mexico gets remittances in the amount of 24 billion dollars every year, money, the Mexicans send to their families in their home country. The money is usually sent by illegal immigrants. This money will be blocked by a law. However, Mexico could avoid this with a one-off payment between five and ten billion dollars. “This is an easy decision for Mexico”, Trump thought in the document, which includes further threats against the neighboring country, such as increasing the trade tariffs or the cancellation of visas.

Semi-annual Balance Could Dreams be fulfilled? / Other 72 ships until End of the Year / Guests come back On the last day of March ended the first season of the cruise port “Amber Cove” in Maimón, west of Puerto Plata. Time for a semi-annual balance. What has changed for Puerto Plata? How far the dreams and wishes of the region have been met? Asking around the persons concerned, a certain disappointment can not be overlooked. Some had expected that everything will be good again overnight, as how some remember the good old days, back in the eighties, when the employees had to carry away the bank notes in black plastic bags, as they did not fit into any pocket. There is also a great incomprehension about the slow progress in the buildings in Puerto Plata, and complete confusion over the total stop of the construction of the road from the port in Maimón to Puerto Plata since late November. Not to mention the disgusting dump in Maggiolo, which still has not been moved to another place. A really great “business card” of the Bride of the Atlantic for its guests who need to pass it before arriving their destination - lying there in front of every visitor's eye like a stinking, festering wound. The slightly elevated mound and the relocated entrance don't hide anything of this badge of shame.

Juan Pablo González, Technical Director of the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Plata, said in an interview with LA PLAYA, it is normal that there is a lot of criticism because many have simply expected too much. The Chamber of Commerce is involved in the preparations and in the coordination of all sectors and service providers who come into contact with the cruise ships since 2013. Until the end of March, a total of 55 cruise ships arrived in “Amber Cove” and 220,341 guests left the port in guided tours or individually to see the many places of interest around Puerto Plata. Until the end of this year, another 72 ships will dock, plus 27 times the “Adonia”, which will stay in the port for four days between April and early October, while its passengers will perform social projects on land, from the aid in agriculture to English classes. González said that in interviews it was found that the overall spending per passenger in “Amber Cove” is 70 dollars, well below the other ports in the Caribbean. These 70 dollars include the costs of transport and purchases. The purchase of jewelry is in the fifth place of the interests of tourists, in which they effectively spend most. In the Dominican Republic, however, these expenses are only three dollars in average for the lack of offer. At other ports, there are sold gold and diamonds, here it is “only” larimar and amber. To the complaints of some restaurants González says, it was understandable that tourists who get full first class board on their ship, have other interests on shore than to go to eat in a restaurant. In a three-day study of the Chamber of Commerce from the 28th to the 30th of December, there were counted 1,271 tourists at certain points in and around Puerto Plata who were traveling privately, that is, they did not book an excursion on the cruise ship. Of those, about a thousand visited a beach as Cosita Rica in Puerto Plata or El Pueblito in Playa Dorada. There most of them didn't consume much more than a drink or a snack.

Nevertheless, restaurants benefited from one or the other cruise guest who got hungry. However, the main profit of these businesses will be long-term, as there is more money in circulation, for example, of the families of the taxi drivers, the tour guides, the people working and having businesses in the port and so on. And later of tourists who will come back after their cruise. So the Ministry of Tourism has stated that about twelve percent more tourists than last year came to Puerto Plata in the first quarter 2016. A taxi driver in Maimón said he had already had guests who have booked their holiday in the RIU hotels after they first came on a cruise to the Dominican Republic. According to González, one point that yet has to be investigated, is why the crew and the staff of the cruise ships do not leave the port, but obviously prefer to stay on the ship or in port during their stay. In the first calculations of the Ministry of Tourism they were included as consumers too.

The next arrivals in “Amber Cove” Maimón April, 12 - 15 April, 19 - 22 April, 25 April, 26 - 29 April, 27 April, 29 May, 2 May, 3 May, 10 - 13 May, 16 May, 18 May, 19 May, 23 May, 24 May, 24 - 27 May, 25

The Amber Coast Hidden Treasures close to Puerto Plata / Adventurous and dangerous Search for Amber On the north coast of the Dominican Republic, which is also called the Amber Coast, there are countless hidden natural treasures to be discovered and make the area a perfect destination for eco-tourism. Very close to Puerto Plata there can be found amber seekers who dig after the mineral on dangerous slopes in dizzy heights over a river in Rancho Ambrosio near El Cupey. They sell their findings twice a week. To get there, some very bad roads are leading from the Star Hills to El Cupey, and the RĂo CamĂş has to be crossed. Going by car without 4WD is nearly impossible. Thanks to Franz Lang for the photos and the description.

The Dominican artist Rita Indiana is one of five finalists for the II. Mario Vargas Llosa Biennale Prize for short stories, which will be awarded in Lima on the 21st of April. The Biennale, in which more than 250 opuses from 16 countries have applied, is organized by the Peruvian university UTEC, the Lectureship Vargas Llosa, the Acción Cultural Española, the Peruvian Ministry of Culture and the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, and has a prize money of 100,000 dollars. Rita Indiana Hernández is currently living in Puerto Rico. After three stories she devoted herself to music and published only one album as Rita Indiana y Los Misterios, “El juidero”, a kind of psychedelic Merengue in a typical Dominican slang, which made her known more internationally than nationally. Then Rita Indiana returned to literature, but wants to keep making music for movies and the Internet. “La mucama de Ominculé”, according to Rita Indiana, is a tragicomic perspective of capitalism in poor countries such as hers. The protagonist is a Messiah who uses his powers to travel in time and to enrich himself.

After the news that there was issued a detention order for the musician and composer Roy Tabaré because of violence against his ex-wife Linnette de Rosario, he assured, he will come to Santo Domingo as soon as possible in order to comment on the allegations. Nothing of this was true. Precisely the opposite was the case. His wife had been violent against him. The TV presenter from Miami, on the other hand, wrote her own version on facebook. With Roy Tabaré with whom she lived together for two years, she got to know a yet unknown underworld for her, with addicts, thieves and fugitives. The only thing she did during their relationship was to help him to kick the habit of using drugs.

Omega Three Months in Custody While the singer Vakero was finally acquitted of charges of violence against his ex-wife Martha Heredia, the prison gates closed again behind his fellow musician Omega for three months. He is accused of his 20-year-old ex-partner, with whom he lived four years, to have her kidnapped, to beat her and to have her assaulted psychologically and sexually. Which according to him is pure fantasy.

One of the great legends of Jazz has died. The Argentine jazz saxophonist Leandro “Gato” Barbieri, who composed, among other things, the music for the film “Last Tango in Paris”, which was awarded the Grammy in 1973, died of pneumonia on the 2nd of April at the age of 83 years in New York. At the age of twelve, Leandro Barbieri learned playing the clarinet, after he heared Charlie Parker. In Buenos Aires he took lessons in music and switched to the alto saxophone. His nickname “Gato”, cat, he got, because he was moving so fast between the nightclubs of Buenos Aires. In the Orchestra of Lalo Schiffrin, Gato Barbieri made himself an international name. In the late fifties he switched to the tenor saxophone and made avant-garde Jazz before he turned to melodic South American sounds in the seventies, which helped him to earn a great prestige in the world of Jazz. In 1985, Gato Barbieri was awarded the Premio Konex as one of the best Jazz musicians in the history of Argentina. Last year, he got the Latin Grammy for his lifetime achievement.

What are these Guys singing? “Como el topo” by Ramón Ayala y sus Bravos del Norte A not very fine song of the Mexican “King of the Accordion”, Ramón Ayala, on his already 116 th album. Ramón Ayala is one of the most famous musicians of the Musica Norteña, very popular in Mexico and among the Mexican emigrants in the USA. He said that he usually does not sing this kind of lyrics. It would not be surprising if “Como el topo” soon will be used by one of the so called “microwaves”, newer local groups, who make Salsa or Merengue out of everything. No quisiste compartirme y me has perdido.

I want you to kiss me here on my mouth, even it sounds like a sad goodbye, if things did not go your way. I am sorry, but everything in life is like this. I'm not a hummingbird for one rose, look for another one who fits to your measure. I walk away, maybe you can meet with the jewel that you wanted in this life. When I met you, you had illusions and you thought, you would be my darling. You did not want to share me and you have lost me. There I leave my memories and lies for you. I am not a four-legged animal nor am I any creeping bug. That they never compare me with the rat. I ask nothing and I always have what I want. If they look for me it is not very easy to find me. Like the mole I am always changing the hole. I go like the hummingbird from rose to rose, enjoying the honey from every mouth. I am very false affectionate and a liar and instead of a heart I have a rock, I do not want to hurt whom I find. If they die because of my fault it is their turn. This life I live very happy, enjoying everything what touches me. Women are the most beautiful in the world and luckily I make them all crazy. They dispute about the boy as they can, they conform with a kiss from my mouth. I am not a four-legged animal nor am I any creeping bug. Don't ever compare me with the rat. Without asking, I always have what I want. If they look for me it is not very easy to find me. Like the mole I am always changing the hole.

Ramón Covarrubias Garza was born in Monterrey in Nuevo León, Mexico, on the 8th of December 1945. At the age of five, Ramón got his first accordion from his father, who had to sell a pig to buy it. His favorite music were the Corridos of the band Los Alegres de Terán. Together with his father he sang in the canteens of the villages, until their paths parted in 1959. As “Los Relámpagos del Norte” Ramón Ayala, as he called himself now, had initial success with Cornelio Reyna, first locally, then throughout Mexico. In 1971 the duo separated and Ramón Ayala founded “Los Bravos del Norte”. With different singers Ramón Ayala became one of the most popular musicians of the so called Musica Norteña, six times he was nominated for a Grammy, four times he got it. Critics admit that Ramón Ayala is “The King of the Accordion”, but complain that his singers were not adequately appreciated.

A man comes to the doctor and says, „Doctor, I feel such a terrible pain in my penis.“ „Well, let's see,“ says the doctor. The man has his pants down and the doctor is inspecting his best piece for a while and then asks, „Are you married?“ „Yes,“ the man replies. „How often do you have sex with your wife?“ „Let me think. Monday, Tuesday ... actually every day.“ „Do you have a lover?“, the doctor asks. „Yes,“ the man replies. „How often do you have sex with your lover?“ "Let me think. Monday, Tuesday ... actually every day.“ „And do you visit the brothel?“ the doctor continues. „Yes,“ the man replies. „And how often?“ „Let me think. Zika Cases are increasing Study excludes Transmission via Trophoblast / Already 17 Children have died of Dengue Doctor Rafael Mena, chairman of Andeclip (National Association of Private Hospitals), said, that in the private health centers, the number of patients with the symptoms of Zika has increased. Most of the children infected with Zika come with fever, headache, red eyes and red, itchy spots on the skin. To date, 911 cases of Zika were registered, including 68 of pregnant women who need to be monitored more closely. Of the Zika patients at least 15 suspected cases of the Guillain-Barre syndrome have been reported. Meanwhile, in a study it was found that the Zika virus is not transmitted to the fetus via the trophoblast, as it had been suspected. The trophoblast is a group of cells, which releases nutrients to the embryo. “The trophoblast is the first line of defense of the

fetus against everything that passes to it from the mother's blood, said Yoel Sadovsky, one of the authors of the study. But it can not be excluded that the virus comes to the fetus in other ways. Zika is suspected that it can trigger birth defects like microcephaly, which is not yet proven definitely. With all the Zika hysteria, a much more serious issue is almost overseen: Dengue, which is transmitted by the same mosquito. In the first three months of the year, the number of dengue cases has risen sharply compared to last year. Until the tenth week of the year there have been 2,843 cases, compared to 1,166 in the previous year. And already 18 have died, 17 of them were children aged from six months to 14 years.

A drunken man staggers in to a Catholic church and sits down in a confession box and says nothing. The bewildered priest coughs to attract his attention, but still the man says nothing. The priest then knocks on the wall three times in a final attempt to get the man to speak. Finally, the drunk replies: „No use knocking, mate, there's no paper in this one either.“

A man enters a store and says: „15 litres of wine please.“ „Did you bring a container for this?“ „You're speaking to it.“
