S T O R K Delivery Supt. Adkins and Early Childhood Director Anna Shepherd visited Highlands ARH in Prestonsburg for a special delivery: Start Today for One Ready Kindergartner (STORK) collaboration. This project is about being part of a support system from birth for our students. Every baby born receives a packet from Highlands ARH with information for new parents and now our part in the packet is a onesie and a book, I Love You Like Sunshine, and inside the front of the book is a QR Code that will give parents more than twenty resources. There’s a video about how important the first five years are, a welcome to our school district video and how to access our early childhood website that houses resources and invitations to free events. Anna Shepherd, comments, “We believe if families have a support system from the beginning then the family and the child have better long term outcomes.” Thank Highlands ARH and the Floyd County Community Early Childhood Council for partnering with us!
