Thanks for taking the time to review our sale catalog. We’re proud of the bulls we’re offering at the Basin Bull Sale this year. They’re thick, structurally sound and uniform from the top end to the bottom.

What’s more, they each come from a dam that you’d be excited to have as the paternal grand dam to your next batch of replacement heifers. We’ve been raising registered Angus cattle since 1969 and have always believed that the advantage of our breed lies in the superiority of the Angus female. Consequently, we strive to stack in our pedigrees generations of individuals with bred in maternal quality or in other words the kind of cows that will keep you in the business.

We also believe that alot of the selection pressure being placed on the Angus breed as a whole today is antiethical to making a maternal, productive cow herd.

Dam’s Production:1@104. This bull is his dam’s second calf. She lost her first one at birth. She looks like she’s going to be a whale of a good cow. Flawless structure in her design and she did a nice job raising this calf. The sire, Connealy Dry Valley stamps his sons with wide tops and an extra share of muscle in the rump, extending well down into the twist. This calf exemplifies those characteristics.

Dam’s Production: 7@104 Big stout Dry Valley son. Dam is one of our larger cows but she keeps herself in good condition. I’m writing this on February 1st and that particular cow is yet to see a mouthful of hay. She’s kept herself fat on brown grass and free choice mineral up until now.

Dam’s production:1@100. Dam is actually a 2015 model cow that I let slip through the cracks for a few years as regards to registration papers, thus the incomplete production record. That’s no reflection on her. She’s a very good cow. She puts a lot of growth and power into her calves. If I could change her, I’d shorten her teats just a fraction.

We’ve kept some Connealy Gary daughters that are on their 1st calf this spring. We’re impressed with their structure and docility. They have a deep heart girth and are the kind of females we can graze on brown grass without them falling apart on us.
