Thanks for taking the time to review our sale catalog. We’re proud of the bulls we’re offering at the Basin Bull Sale this year. They’re thick, structurally sound and uniform from the top end to the bottom.

What’s more, they each come from a dam that you’d be excited to have as the paternal grand dam to your next batch of replacement heifers. We’ve been raising registered Angus cattle since 1969 and have always believed that the advantage of our breed lies in the superiority of the Angus female. Consequently, we strive to stack in our pedigrees generations of individuals with bred in maternal quality or in other words the kind of cows that will keep you in the business. We also believe that alot of the selection pressure being placed on the Angus breed as a whole today is antiethical to making a maternal, productive cow herd. Cow Maker. Maternal grand sire to several of the bulls selling, his daughters have tight utters with short teats and give ample milk.

Broadback and Wideback Jack lineage both decend from the same originating cow. We felt she was a superior cow in our herd and wanted to propegate her influence. BAR Broadback 928 is the maternal grand sire to several of the bulls selling.

Dam’s production-4@96. Here’s a heifer bull by Cole Creek Auto. This bull’s daughters will be very good. The daughters by any of the Auto sons will be the kind you will want to keep around. This bull’s mother is an extremely easy-fleshing cow. She went into the fall in good flesh and continued to put on weight as the grass turned brown through December and into January, as you can see from the picture.

Dam’s production-6@102. If you like them broad across the top and the rump this is the bull for you. He’s been built like a tank since he was a month old. His dam has been a very good cow for us. If I were going to get nit-picky though, her rear quarters are slightly lower than her fronts. It’s more of a cosmetic thing though. Her calves latch onto all four quarters just fine.

Dam’s production- 3@99. All though this calf had a little more birth weight, his pedigree says he aught to do fine on heifers. His dam and grand-dam are both light birth weight cows. I think he’ll produce much lighter than his birth weight says he will. This bull’s dam is a deep-ribbed, good-uddered cow. You’d like to have a whole pasture full of her granddaughters.

Dam’s production-5@93. This calf was sick for the first couple of months of his life. His 205-day weight reflects the rough patch he went through. He’s been catching up since then though. I think a lot of this calf’s dam as I do all of our Cole Creek Full Bore daughters. She’s good-uddered and trouble-free in every respect. Her son will leave you with the kind of females that keep ranchers in the cow business.

Dam’s production-4@92. This bull and the 731 bull are bred identically. They are both Cole Creek Auto sons out of Cole Creek Fullbore daughters. They are like peas in a pod, both long, straight, and thick. If someone were to take both of them home, they could make a real uniform set of calves. This bull’s dam is deep-bodied and perfectly uddered. She is also gentle to handle like all of our Fullbore daughters are. I walked up and tagged her this year’s calf while he was nursing. The cow hardly acknowledged that I was there.
