T
he race for the presidency of the 123-year-old Jamaica Agricultural Society (JAS) is in high gear with two veteran agriculturalists seeking to replace outgoing president Norman Grant. Just under 500 delegates will vote for a new president and two vice presidents at the JAS annual general meeting scheduled for July 11, 2018, at the Denbigh Showground, May Pen, Clarendon. A team headed by a former CEO of the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) executive director of Jamaica 4H Clubs and St. Catherine JAS, president, Lenworth Fulton is very active on the ground as farmers, members and other stakeholders are seeking fresh ideas and leadership to help enhance the fortunes of the Society.
