Washington DC: nited States President Donald Trump says he looks forward to working with Jamaica’s Andrew Holness administration on bilateral and regional issues.

The president’s comments came during a courtesy call paid on him by Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States Audrey Marks at the oval office in the White House.

President Trump and the ambassador in their exchange underscored the strong bond of friendship that has existed over the years between the people Jamaica and the United States of America, noting the contribution of Jamaica in many spheres of American life.

In her remarks, Ambassador Marks said she looked forward to working with the US President in the interest of both countries. The Jamaican Ambassador highlighted the synergies of the U.S.Caribbean nexus, which cements the relationship between the United States and Jamaica.

Ambassador Marks in noting the President’s agenda of providing more trading opportunities for US companies, called attention to the significant trade surplus the USA enjoys with the region.

Protecting our immigrants from fraudsters T he past decade has been a very difficult period for immigrants in the United States with an estimated 2 million people being deported.

This includes a significant number under questionable and unfair circumstances during the Obama administration.

Many people did not know what was happening to their fellow immigrants as the Obama administration was more discreet in their actions as they tormented and deported people by the hundreds without public notice.

Since taking office in January, President Donald Trump has been very open and vocal about enforcing US immigration policies and is facing strong oppositions from civil society, Democrats and the media. Everyone now knows what the Feds are doing with immigrants in our community.

In the last three months, the situation appears to be getting worse despite the president’s assurance and promises that legal and law-abiding immigrants have nothing to worry about. But almost everyone we spoke with is fretting and worrying if the next “president executive order” will affect his or her status and freedom to travel.

As the pressure continues to escalate on those ordinary people who are just trying to improve the living standards for their families, a number of dishonest and greedy lawyers and so-called immigration consultants have been taking advantage of their situation.

After paying out thousands of dollars to these phony “immi-

gration experts,” some of those immigrants, perhaps hundreds, are now facing prison term and deportation because their legal rights were never adequately addressed.

However, we got some positive news last week. The New York City Council passed a Bill that will offer more protection for immigrants against fraud. Unlike the criminal court, low-income persons have no right to a free immigration attorney.

We are therefore adding our support to the lead sponsor of the legislation, Councilman Daniel Dromm, who has noted that immigrants account for 37 percent of New York’s population and must

have access to authorized and credible providers of immigration services.

Particularly during these times of increased immigration enforcement, we must ensure that city residents do not fall prey to scammers and those offering services that only an attorney can legally provide.

Unfortunately, there are often long waiting lists to meet with trusted and authorized attorneys and Department of Justice (DOJ) Accredited Representatives, leading many immigrants to seek help from unscrupulous service providers and become vulnerable to fraud and an increased risk of deportation.

he beauty of America is that everyone can express his or her opinions. Yet, many people so hate America that the biggest expenses her hospitals face is care associated with illegal immigrant giving birth here.

They come to America to have babies. They come to America for healthcare. Yes, Canada has a seemingly better healthcare, but not many know it is made possible because Canadians can cross the borders and come to America for healthcare.

Now we have a president elected by the American people.

However, the Obama administration will have us believe Russians elected him.

Was there a surge of illegal Russian aliens during the time of the election? Was Mr. Spock, Captain Kirk, or others on the Enterprise used to beam Russians to key states to vote for Trump? What did the Russians really do?

Give Americans the opportunity to hear the truth and make informed decision, something the American media did not want Americans to know?

People are suggesting that the president and the American people who elected Trump are head cases/nuts. As an immigrant who has been blessed with some of the protections

and the values America offers, I know that many haters living here would rather be in this America, they describe as Babylon, hell, or evil empire, than the beautiful, crime ridden, or murderous countries they came from.

Even criminal illegal immigrants are fighting to stay in this “dreadful” America. Why? The article speaks to freedom of speech available in America and to the fact that even the “idiots” have the opportunity to elect a president to represent them.

Where else (apart from Canada) can you speak against a leader and not be: shot down like dogs in the middle of the street (Russia), have a woman give you the death touch (Asia),

killed with a poisonous umbrella (UK), burned alive with your family while you sleep (Caribbean), or dragged out of your homes and eventually be thrown from airplanes (South America)?

The article would suggest that compared to the previous president, President Trump is a moron/buffoon—needing an explanation how he defeated the highly educated Republicans as well as Hillary.’

True, President Obama was great for the moral of the country, he was articulate, he made it possible for homosexuals to become husband and husband or wife and wife, and he had a family that served as role models.

Trump may not be all that,

but we cannot malign him because he has two or more balls, will draw his line in the sand and kick the assess of evil dictators who cross it to destroy little babies with chemical weapons–something that president Obama promised to do but lacked the oysters to implement.

President Trump could be a great president if the media, still angry at how one “idiotic” man beat them all, will give him a chance to govern. In the end, it may be the “idiotic Americans” who will rise up against the media to allow Trump to make America safe. Still, we must be on guard to prevent President Trump from becoming a dictator; thus, the Facebook post is very useful in that regard.

The Comptroller is paying the bills!

Dear Editor: eginning two days before the expected snowstorm, Mayor Thomas embarked on a crusade of inciting fear on the residents and businesses of Mount Vernon by using social and other media to let them know that 30 inches of snow was coming and the City had no fuel to power the DPW trucks.

At the same time he falsely proclaimed that the City Comptroller was not paying the fuel bills.

The Department of Finance monitors the delivery of fuel and the average use of fuel since we pay the bills. We knew at that time we had an adequate supply of fuel to get us through the snow storm.

Checks for the payment of bills, including fuel, that originate in the Comptroller’s Office, are signed by the Comptroller and then forwarded to the Mayor for his signature, prior to be mailing to the suppliers.

We have copies of the cancelled checks that stand as evidence of the payment of fuel bills. Check #136407 in the amount of $3,180.52 and check #136374 in the amount $3,189.52 for the payment of fuel bills was forwarded to the Mayor’s office on March 9, 2017 and March 10, 2017.

At the time of proclaiming “30 inches of snow, no fuel” the checks for the payment of the fuel were lying on his desk awaiting his signature. The signed checks were returned to my office on Monday, March 13, along with the other one hundred and fifty one checks that he was holding for extended periods of time. As a precaution, the Comptroller’s Office used another form of payment for the supplier.

As the City Comptroller, I know my job, very well and together with my highly motivated and professional staff, we manage the city’s financial and non-financial assets without much fanfare.

Hefty penalties for Immigration fraudsters

NY, NY: he New York City Council unanimously passed legislation last Wednesday that cracks down on the unauthorized practice of immigration law by tightening requirements for immigration service providers, increasing penalties for violators and authorizing the creation of a consumer bill of rights.

The Bill which was sponsored by Queens Councilman Daniel Dromm, would lay out stricter guidelines for individuals advertising immigration assistance services, in hopes of further safeguarding foreign-born New Yorkers against fraud and unlawful application of immigration law. The legislation calls upon the city’s Department of Consumer Affairs to craft a “Bill of Rights” that service providers would have to incorporate in their contracts, along with specific language in their contracts regarding the provider’s responsibilities and limitations.

Providers would also have to post required signage in English and in the languages in which they give or offer to provide services.

According to the Lead Sponsor of the Bill, Queens Councilman, Daniel Dromm, “Since this bill was introduced in 2015, the situation has gone from difficult to dire.” Alluding to Trump’s aggressive enforcement agenda. “When I first took office, I think it was 2011 on a Friday night about five minutes to five, 12 people walked into my office and said that they had paid over $5,000 for letters for things that the attorneys who did the letters knew were not going to move their

It clarifies prohibited conduct for service providers and strengthens posting requirements, which now must direct individuals to the Office of New Americans’ hotline for complaints and legal help.”

Dromm, noted that the new bill “doubles penalties for those who would still take advantage of immigrants, with fines ranging from $500 - $10,000. “It creates a Consumer Bill of Rights protecting immigrants from

fraud. I thank the New York Immigration Coalition and my colleagues who have worked closely with me on this bill which, when made law, will have a transformative impact on our city,” he added.

“Providers of immigration assistance services would be prohibited from offering and providing services that should only be provided by an attorney and from making statements that could lead an individual to believe that the provider is an attorney or authorized to give legal advice,” said Council Speaker Mark-Viverito.

Dozens of advocates joined employees from Tom Cat Bakery for a rally outside Trump Tower.

Last month, federal officials gave 31 workers from the Long Island City bakery a warning.

The Department of Homeland Security said the workers would be fired in 10 business days if they could not prove they can legally work in the United States.

The workers got an extension to stay on the job until April 21.

But protestors said Trump's policies are tearing communities apart. "Immigrants produce $100 billion a year in income, pay billions of dollars a year in taxes," City Comptroller Scott Stringer said at the rally.

"Without immigrants from 150 countries in New York City, we would not have the economy we have today."

It is unclear whether the warnings were from a random Homeland Security audit, or the president's immigration agenda.

New York To Make State College Tuition Free

N

ALBANY, New York: ew York will be the first state to make tuition at public colleges and universities free for middle-class students under a state budget approved by lawmakers Sunday.

The plan crafted by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo will apply to any New York student whose family has an annual income of $125,000 or less. To qualify the student would have to meet certain class load and grade point average restrictions, and room and board would not be covered.

"College is today what high school was 50 years ago," Cuomo said on a radio interview Sunday on AM 970 in New York City.

"If you're a young person who wants success and a career, a college education is necessary.

The initiative is included in a $153 billion state budget proposal that passed the state Senate late Sunday after being endorsed by the Assembly a day earlier. The budget was due by April 1, but difficult negotiations delayed passage.

The tuition plan will be phased in over three years, with families making $100,000 or less annually eligible in the fall of 2017, with the threshold rising to $125,000 in 2019. Cuomo's office says some 940,000 families will qualify. The initiative also includes $19 million for a new tuition award program for students at private colleges.

The program will cost the state $163 m.

Jamaicans Facing An Obesity Crisis NEWS

Kingston, Jamaica WI: he island of Jamaica is facing a serious obesity problem, which just keeps getting bigger. Obesity rates among adults have climbed from 45 per cent in 2002, to 54 per cent in 2008, and up to the end of last year, the rate stood at 60 per cent.

Health officials in Jamaica are worried as obesity is at the root of a growing epidemic of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) which is costing the Government more than $170 million per year to treat.

According to Professor of Public Health and Nutrition at the University of Technology, Jamaica Fitzroy Henry “The main causes of death in Jamaica include heart disease, hypertension, cancer, diabetes, stroke, which are all related to obesity,” he warned, adding that two out of every three deaths locally result from NCDs. Henry is now leading a charge through the newly established National Food Industry

Task Force to turn the problem around. He was speaking at last week at the launch of the taskforce, which is mandated to get Jamaicans to stop eating themselves to the grave.

Mount Vernon: ount Vernon Police Officers are currently investigating a shooting which occurred on April 10, 2017.

Officers responded to the area of 110 So. 4th Ave. on a report of shots fired and a man down. Upon the officers' arrival, they observed a black male who suffered apparent gunshot wounds to his thigh/hip area. Victim was alert and conscious and later identified as local Mount Vernon resident Donovan Mcqueen.

Mr. McQueen was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is currently listed as "Stable" according to Medical Staff. No arrests have been made at this time.

The Mount Vernon Police Department is asking the public for any information to assist in this investigation.

NEW ROCHELLE: The Home Depot's hiring in a big way. The home improvement giant is trying to fill some positions in stores and distribution centers across the country — including the one in New Rochelle — for its busy spring season.

To attract more applicants and streamline the process, the company said in a press release

that it has sped up its online application process by as much as 80 percent.

The task force will be seeking to implement programs to curtail the impact of obesity and chronic disease.

Topping his concerns is the high level of sugar and fat con-

sumed among Jamaicans. “The daily target for sugar per day in children is about 25 grammes or five teaspoons. For adults, it’s about 50 grammes, which is about 10 teaspoons,” he said.

Henry also noted that the global figures show Jamaica, Kuwait and Barbados topping the list of children between 13 and 15 years old who consume more than one bottle of soda daily. “Seventy-five percent of boys between the ages of 13 and 15 drink more than one soda per day, on average, according to the Global Schoolbased Student Health Survey in 2010. The girls in Jamaica are ranked third, only beaten by Kuwait and Barbados. We have serious problems,” he warned.

The 18-member task force, which falls under the Ministry of Health, will also probe the level of sugar, salt and trans fat in foods. It is also expected to advocate for better labeling of products to help Jamaicans make wiser food choices.

Canadians warned about St. Lucia’s ‘limited medical care’

News Americas, TORONTO, Canada: n Eastern Caribbean nation that has only moderate crime and no recent protests or natural disasters has found itself on the Canadian government travel warning list.

The Canadian government updated its travel advisory on March 31st on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, warning its citizens traveling there to “exercise a high degree of caution.”

The reason? The country’s “limited medical resources.”

The Canadian government travel notice says “medical care is limited” in St. Lucia since there are only two public hospitals and one private hospital and serious cases may have to be referred to Miami, Florida, or Martinique.

“Be prepared. Do not expect medical services to be the same as in Canada. Pack a travel health kit, especially if you will be traveling away from major city centers,” the statement also warns.

The UK government for its part warns nationals that medical care in St. Lucia can be very expensive and to “take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance before you travel.”

The US government for its part states that “medical facilities in Saint Lucia do not meet U.S. standards” and recommends US nationals take out supplemental insurance to cover possible medical evacuation before traveling there.

St. Lucia is home to over 182 thousand people and saw over 187,000 stay-over visitors in 2016, a drop-off from the previous year. The private hospital in St. Lucia is Tapion in Castries. The two public hospitals are Victoria and Dennery.

Even though both billionaires were not born in the Caribbean, both claim Caribbean citizenship in the island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis, thanks to the country’s Citizenship by Investment Program.

• Jacky Xu is a 32-year-old Singaporeanborn business man, investor and philanthropist. He is the Chairman of the Board of Colour Face International Limited, Early Childhood Holdings Limited and Leadership Management and through them operates one of the Singapore largest vocational training institution.

He also runs and owns most of Trendy International, a popular apparel company with brands that include Ochirly and Five Plus. L Capital, a private equity group backed

by French luxury goods giant LVMH, bought a reported 10 percent of Trendy in 2011 for $200 million. Xu’s current net worth is put at US $3 billion making him the 660th richest person in the world, according to Forbes and the richest in the Caribbean region.

Wu Xu is listed as the second richest in the Caribbean and its second only billionaire.

Wu worked state-run construction businesses before taking the plunge himself as an entrepreneur. Wu received a MBA degree from Chongqing University in 2001 and graduated from the CEO education program of China Europe International Business School in 2007.

He was the chief engineer of Chongqing Building Management Station from 1982 to 1991 and the deputy executive general-manager of China Chongqing International Corp for Econ & Tech Cooperation during 19921994.

Wu is now listed as the second richest person in the Caribbean region and the 1,098th richest in the world with a net worth of US $1.9 B.

KINGSTON, Jamaica: On April 4, Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness made a historic apology for the “grave injustice” of an attack made on Rastafarians between April 11 and 12, 1963 – the year after Jamaica gained its independence from Great Britain.

Alexander Bustamante was the country's prime minister then, and he headed the Jamaica Labour Party – the same party that Holness leads today.

Eight Jamaicans were killed in Coral Gardens (near Montego Bay) on what has come to be called “Bad Friday”, since it was Easter at the time.

As many as 150 Rastafarians were rounded up, arrested, beaten and abused; their dreadlocks, which have religious significance, were cut. The series of events that led up to the attack were part of an atmosphere of systematic oppression, discrimination and open hostility towards Rastafarians that had begun prior to independence, all of which were documented in the 2011 film “Bad Friday”.

The prime minister announced that six lots at a historically relevant property at Pinnacle in rural St Catherine would be declared as a protected heritage site by the Jamaican National Heritage Trust; he also promised assistance for the Coral Gardens Benevolent Society, and said a trust fund of no less than JA$10 million (just over US$75,000) would be established for the benefit of survivors.

Fuel price hike ignites mass demonstration in Suriname

PARAMARIBO, Suriname -- For the second day in a row, several thousand disgruntled citizens marched in the streets of Suriname’s capital Paramaribo on Friday, calling on the Bouterse administration to reverse the recent fuel price hike.

Initiated by 30-year-old Maisha Neus, some 1,500 people held a protest demonstration last Monday at Independence Square opposite the Presidential Palace, denouncing recent measures taken by the government, including price hikes for fuel, water and electricity. Last week, gasoline became US$0.08 more expensive per liter and diesel increased by US$0.03 per liter.

Trade unions took over the lead on Thursday and Friday, sending a strong signal to the government, with more than 10,000 people attending the rallies. While numerous demonstrators called on President Desi Bouterse to resign, union leaders said that such is not the main goal of the protest.

Union leader Robby Berenstein noted that the objective is not to overthrow the government, but rather to press the administration to change its policies.

ST GEORGE’S, GRENADA: ormer world record holder and Olympic relay gold medalist Asafa Powell and long jumper Demar Forbes were the only Jamaican winners at Saturday’s inaugural Grenada Invitational held at the renamed Kirani James Stadium in St George’s, Grenada.

Powell won the men’s international 100m, while Forbes won the men’s long jump event at the meet that was also an Area Permit event.

Powell clocked 10.18 seconds (0.7 m/s) to win the men’s international 100m race ahead of Andrew Fisher of Bahrain (10.26 seconds) and Barbados’ Levi Cadogan (10.27 seconds).

Michael Frater was sixth in 10.46 seconds.

Jamaicans top IAAF World under-18 List

HE IAAF World Under-18 Championships, formerly the World Youth Championships, will have its final staging this year when the eighth edition takes place in Nairobi, Kenya, between July 12 and 16.

At the 206th IAAF General Meeting held at the Summer Olympics last year, a decision was made by the council that this year's staging would be the final as it was the intention of improving the performances of Under-18 athletes at the continental level.

Since its inception in Bydgoszcz, Poland, in 1999, where Veronica Campbell Brown made her breakout on the international stage, there have been great Jamaican performances, as several have been crowned champions in different disciplines.

Following performances so far this season at various meets, including the ISSAGraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls' Athletics Championships, several Jamaicans have made big statements and are at the top of the class in their events as they look set to make big impressions in the final staging of this meet.

Kingston, Jamaica WI: alabar defied the pre championship predictions to land their 28th ISSA Grace Kennedy Boys Championships title and a school-best sixth consecutive crown at the National Stadium last Saturday night.

With a deficit of seven points on Kingston College heading into the fifth and final day, Calabar took the title by just three points outscoring the North Streetbased school 317 points to 314.

It was a ding dong battle right to the end before the title was decided by the last event of the championship, the 4x400m for boys. KC held a four point lead going into the 4x400m needing only to finish in

the top two to win their 32nd title.

However, it wasn't to be as KC finished fifth with Calabar taking the event and the title, in a time of 3:08.76 seconds.

Jamaica College finished third on the overall table with 203 points, with St Jago 157 and St Elizabeth Technical 114.5, completing the top five.

On the girls side, defending champions Edwin Allen were runaway winners as predicted, scoring 316.50 points to take their fourth consecutive title and fifth overall, with Hydel 265 and St Jago 246, closing out the top three.

Holmwood Technical 243 and Vere Technical 125.50, were fourth and fifth respectively.

It will be the first time that the Afghans will be playing West Indies in a series on Caribbean soil, although it’s not the first time the team will be playing there.

The Afghans were one of the 12 teams that took part in the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 Tournament and have made steady progress in the game since that time.

By Mary Fairchild n Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is typically the most well-attended Sunday service of the year for Christian churches.

Christians believe, according to Scripture, that Jesus came back to life, or was raised from the dead, three days after his death on the cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion is commemorated on Good Friday, always the Friday just before Easter.

Through his death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus.

WHEN IS EASTER SEASON? Lent is a 40-day period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline in preparation for Easter. In Western Christianity, Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent and the Easter season. Easter Sunday marks the end of Lent and the Easter season.

Eastern Orthodox churches observe Lent or Great Lent, during the 6 weeks or 40 days preceding Palm Sunday with fasting continuing during the Holy Week of Easter.

Lent for Eastern Orthodox churches begins on Monday and Ash Wednesday is not observed.

Because of Easter's pagan origins, and also because of the commercialization of

Easter, many Christian churches choose to refer to the Easter holiday as Resurrection Day. EASTER IN THE BIBLE The biblical account of Jesus' death on the cross, or crucifixion, his burial and his resurrection, or raising from the dead, can be found in the following passages of Scripture: Matthew 27:27-28:8; Mark 15:16-16:19; Luke 23:26-24:35; and John 19:16-20:30.

The word "Easter" does not appear in the Bible and no early church celebrations of Christ's resurrection are mentioned in Scripture.

Easter, like Christmas, is a tradition that developed later in church history.

THE DATE OF EASTER In Western Christianity, Easter Sunday can fall anywhere between March 22 and April 25. Easter is a movable feast, always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the Paschal Full Moon. I had previously, and somewhat erroneously stated, "Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the first full moon after the vernal (spring) equinox." This statement was true prior to 325 AD; however, over the course of history (beginning in 325 AD with the Council of Nicea), the Western Church decided to established a more standardized system for determining the date of Easter.

Process: 1. Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.

Use IRS.gov for Fast Answers as April 18 Deadline Nears

WASHINGTON — With the tax deadline fast approaching, the Internal Revenue Service today reminded taxpayers that they can use IRS.gov to find fast answers to tax questions, use free online tools and find key tax forms and publications.

With millions of people just now seeking help to complete their taxes, the IRS expects high call volumes between now and the April 18 tax filing deadline. This makes IRS.gov even more invaluable to taxpayers seeking quick answers.

Answers to the most common questions taxpayers have this time of year are on IRS.gov.

To help with the high demand, the IRS has extended its toll-free telephone hours on Saturday, April 8, and Saturday, April 15, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., caller’s local time.

Taxpayers wanting in-person help from the IRS need to make an appointment before visiting an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center.

Some of the useful online tools that are just a click away on IRS.gov are: Where’s My Refund? –This tool’s tracker displays progress through three stages: Return Received, Refund Approved and Refund Sent. Once the IRS approves the refund, taxpayers can see their expected refund date.

Get Transcript – Taxpayers can view their tax transcript, a tax return summary, online or order it by mail. Non-tax reasons for transcripts include income verification for student or mortgage loans.

Free File – Free, brand-name tax preparation software is available through the IRS Free File program for anyone earning less than $64,000. Taxpayers earning more can use Free File Fillable Forms.

Everyone can use Free File to file for an extension, Form 4868, if they can’t meet the April 18 deadline.

VITA/TCE – Free, in-person volunteer help is close by through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program or Tax Counseling for the Elderly.

Finding your Adjusted Gross Income – Taxpayers who changed the tax software product they use to prepare and file their taxes may be required to enter the adjusted gross income from their 2015 tax return for identity verification. IRS cannot provide AGI by phone but taxpayers can get the AGI from their copy of last year’s tax return or by ordering a transcript.

ITIN Renewal – Taxpayers may need to renew expired Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers before they can file a tax return. There are new rules this year.

Appointment Service – Studies conducted by the IRS show that most taxpayers visit a TAC to make payments, inquire about a notice, ask about a refund, get a transcript or obtain a tax form. Any of these issues can be handled by visiting IRS.gov, eliminating the need to travel to an IRS office. Taxpayer Assistance Centers now provide service by appointment. Taxpayers must first call to make an appointment before visiting a TAC for help with their taxes.

New Jersey Terrorists pleads guilty

Attempting to kill the Pope

LINDENWOLD, NEW JERSEY: antos Colon, Jr., 17, of Lindenwold, New Jersey, pleaded guilty as an adult to an information charging him with one count of attempting to provide material support to terrorists.

The plea was entered on Monday (April 3) before U.S. District Court Judge Noel L. Hillman in Camden federal court.

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court, Colon, a U.S. citizen, admitted that from June 30, 2015, to Aug. 14, 2015, he devised a plan to conduct an attack during the September 2015 papal visit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The plot involved utilizing a sniper to shoot the Pope during his Papal mass and setting off explosive devices in the surrounding areas.

Colon engaged someone he believed would be the sniper, but in reality was an undercover FBI employee. Colon engaged in target reconnaissance with an FBI confidential source and instructed the source to purchase materials to make explosive devices. FBI agents arrested Colon in 2015.

Colon faces a maximum of 15 years in prison and a fine of $250,000, or twice the gross amount of any financial gain or loss from the offense. The maximum statutory sentence is prescribed by Congress and is provided here for informational purposes. If convicted of any offense, the sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the court based on the advisory Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

No date has been set for sentencing.

Double murder in Paterson

PATERSON, New Jersey: olice in New Jersey are looking for the person who shot two men in the head and left their bodies to burn inside a car owned by a reality TV star.

The car was found last week Friday near the intersection of East 28th Street and 14th Avenue in Paterson. The vehicle, owned by "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Kim DePaola, was up in flames and two bodies were found inside.

Police say both victims had been shot in the back of the head. While the medical examiner has not confirmed the identities, a mother and father we talked with said they know their son is gone.

Michele Ryerson and Thurston Anderson would give the world to hear from their son Aaron Anderson right now. They last saw Aaron Thursday night after he took his friend, Chris Camiscioli, to the airport and was driving Camsicioli's car.

Camiscioli is the son of Kim DePaola, known as Kim D. "They traced the car back to Chris' mom, and the car was in her name," Ryerson said.

DENVILLE, New Jersey: his is the nail-biting time of year when high school seniors are hearing back from colleges to which they've applied.

For one young woman in New Jersey it's a magical time. She was accepted to all eight Ivy League schools, plus, for good measure, Stanford.

"Harvard, Yale, Columbia, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Princeton and Stanford," said Ifeoma White-Thorpe, Morris Hills High School Senior.

It's that moment when you shoot for the stars and actually make it. "I want to go into global health and study biology and so many of them have great research facilities, so I was like, I might as well just shoot my shot and apply," Ifeoma said. Ifeoma got eight acceptance letters from Ivy League schools.

"I was shaking, I was like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, like this might be eight out of eight and I clicked it and it said 'Congratulations' and I was like oh my goodness and then I was like, what did I say?" Ifeoma said.

"How many years do I have left to make a change," she said when she won the national Selma speech and essay competition.

It doesn't hurt that she aces her AP classes and is the student government president.

"I think my love for poetry and writing just really stood out," Ifeoma said. Now that Ifeoma has been accepted to so many schools, the hard part is going to be deciding which one she will actually attend when she graduates in June.

"I got into Harvard early action so I figured I'll just go there, so then I got into all the others and I was like, wait now I don't know where I want to go," Ifeoma said.

There he would acquire and harness his musical skills by playing drums, violin and flute in the school choir which performed at regular state functions.

Growing up in the midst of a family of musicians also led to his continued influence and aspiration to be dedicated to the music.

In the year 2003 Jah Myhrakle, inspired by his Brother Ras Issachar Pow's and Ras Sherman's album Red Gold & Green (2000), released his first mixtape entitled Hamma Dem Down.

The people in the streets loved it. It is a dancehall shaker which includes tracks like Tafari Seeds, Warrior, and the main title track Hamma dem Down.

The following year 2004 Jah Myhrakle linked up with Buddy Brown the producer/promoter of the Belize International Park Fest in New York to perform a few tracks from the album on the Park Fest showcase, which was later released as a CD DVD promo.

After performing in several different states Jah Myhrakle decided that he would head to the studio again in fall 2005 to start working on his second project which would be released in early 2006 with the title End of Daze.
