Chamber annual dinner a sell-out T he Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce hosted a soldout crowd of the Ridge business community at its annual Installation Dinner and Awards Presentation on January 29th at Paradise Lutheran Church. The Chamber celebrated its successes of the past year with candlelight and cocktails, followed by dinner catered by Italian Guy Catering. The presentation commenced with an invocation by Reverend Andy Torkelson of Paradise Center for Spiritual Living, followed by incoming Chamber President Kimball Shirey’s welcome and introduction of Board members and dignitaries. On hand were the following representatives of local and national government: Jason McCormick of Congressman LaMalfa’s office, Jerry Crow from Senator Nielsen’s Office, and County Supervisors Bill Connolly and Doug Teeter. Assembly candidate James Gallagher was also in attendance. Kimball thanked former president Cindy Haskett for the gift of her time, leadership, and generous sponsorships of Chamber events. New Board members installed were: Noelle Adams, Paradise Association of Realtors; Shirlena Dobrich, Dobrich and Sons Septic; and Pamela Teeter, Inc. Opt. Boutique. Returning for another year of service were Jay Cooke, Professional Mortgage Associates; Mike Butson, Coldwell Banker Ponderosa; Shannon Hurte, Edward Jones Investments; David Shepler, Wells Fargo Bank; Carol Peterson, Boys & Girls Club; Kelley Conner, PostNet; Kimball Shirey, Allstate-Baker & Baker Insurance Agency, Inc.; Julie Cooke, Pine Ridge Women’s Club; Kevin Erich, Feather River Hospital and Patricia Gobin, Atria Paradise. Chamber members sponsoring tables were Feather River Hospital, Paradise Rotary, Paradise Recreation and Parks District, California Vocations, and Allstate-Baker & Baker Insurance Agency, Inc. Chamber executive director Monica Nolan stepped up to the podium and acknowledged local businesses for being the backbone of our community, keeping us working and striving, through no small ingenuity and tenacity. Monica then thanked the major contributors to the success of Chamber events: “The Chamber has partnered with the Town of Paradise, Paradise Recreation and Parks District, and the Paradise Ridge Senior Center to stage Party in the Park and Johnny Appleseed Days. The first city to be featured is Paradise. Every Wednesday for six weeks, from February 19 through March 26, music will be interrupted throughout the day with rich historical accounts from the wild and wooly past of the Ridge. Season Ticket Packages Available from Theatre on the Ridge Theatre on the Ridge kicked off its 39th Season with BARK! The Musical, which enjoyed rave reviews and packed houses. Season ticket holders are afforded the best value for their entertainment dollar with guaranteed best reserved seating at the lowest price available with full exchange privileges.
