Mal Carpenter unveils History of Byron and Agriland By SOPHIA MCCAUGHAN It was a work four decades in the making when long-time Trangie resident, Mal Carpenter, unveiled his highly anticipated history book last Friday at Trangie Library. Mal was joined by members of the Trangie Local History Group and local residents at the book launch, celebrating an important part of the region’s agricultural heritage. Mal told the Narromine Star he was motivated to publish “History of Byron and Agriland Pty Ltd” because he believed it was only fair to recognise the contribution that the local institution has made to the Narromine Shire. “I worked there for over 40 years and I thought it was important that people know the history,” he explained.
