school supplies, provide her three meals per day, year-round housing, healthcare, transportation to and from the school and internship sites. The opportunity to earn a vocational degree will offer Marta’s family hope that their daughter will find work after finishing school and have a successful career. The children at Ak’Tenamit are embedded with the importance of community and develop a passion for helping their communities overcome their challenges. The Rotaract Club of West Broward currently meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Weston YMCA. During the meetings, members discuss upcoming projects, learn from outstanding keynote speakers, and discuss ideas for new projects and development opportunities. Additionally, every month the club holds a social event where members get together to enjoy the company of one another while engaging in fun activities such as picnics, bowling, laser tag, and singing karaoke. The club will continue on this journey into the world of charity and service while having fun, and is constantly looking to grow its membership. If you are a young professional in the area of West Broward who would enjoy to grow as a person and a professional while giving back to the community, then please contact the Rotaract Club of West Broward or attend one of their upcoming meetings or events.
