ndian Trace Elementary School dominated the Broward County Council PTA Reflections Awards Ceremony. Twelve students received 13 awards and were chosen to represent Broward County at the Florida State Reflections competition. Indian Trace had the most winners of any elementary school in the county. Reflections is a nationally-sponsored program offered by the PTA each year. Its purpose is to encourage children to express themselves and to explore their talents by creating original artwork in six categories, from three-dimensional visual arts to writing scripts for a play. This year’s theme was “Let your imagination fly…” and Indian Trace students let their imaginations soar. More than 140 students submitted entries into the PTA Reflections competition. Each work was judged at the school level with the winning entries going on to the county level, where Indian Trace received an unprecedented 33-percent of the awards granted to all Broward County elementary schools. “At Indian Trace Elementary, we are so proud of all of our Reflections participants, because every entry was an exquisite work of art!” boasted Principal Amy Winder.
