Best Cultural Event Weston Philharmonic Society Concerts The Weston Philharmonic Society is committed to bringing world class music to Weston. Each year it arranges for the Symphony of the Americas to perform here in our hometown. This season, concertgoers were treated to Fiery Romances on the Big Screen, which featured the full Symphony of the Americas orchestra under the baton of Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, accompanied by the world-famous keyboard duo of Dunlap and Pennington. The orchestra returned in March for one of its favorite performances of the season, the annual free outdoor concert at Weston Town

Best Family Event Moonlight Movies in the Park

Best Park Weston Regional Park

What better way to spend a Saturday night than snuggled up with your family and friends watching movies under the stars. Weston’s popular Moonlight Movies in the Park offers seven fantastic, free, family-friendly films. The season, which begins in October and runs through April, offers a different movie each month. All movies are projected onto a giant inflatable screen at the Event Stage in Weston Regional Park, next to the Weston Community Center. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, plus plenty of popcorn, to sit out under the stars and enjoy the show.

Best Free Event WestonNights Outdoor Concert Series

Weston Regional Park welcomed the return of the popular WestonNights Outdoor Concert Series. All ages enjoyed the three free concerts presented by the City of Weston. Concertgoers got their groove on as the band Playlist performed popular party songs from the disco era at Disco Reignited, the series’ first concert back in November. Music lovers were transported to the islands when Jimmy Stowe & The Stowaways played an incredible mix of trop-rock tunes, including many made famous by Jimmy Buffett, at Island Center. All ages enjoyed this performance which included selections from popular blockbuster movies such as Star Wars and tributes to Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and other beloved musicians. In July, the Weston Philharmonic Society presents the Symphony of the America’s Summerfest concert at Temple Dor Dorim. This intimate event features renowned musicians and soloists from around the world performing alongside select musicians from the Symphony of the Americas.

Dreaming in February. The concert series concluded with Totally Awesome 80’s in March, when the band Private Stock rocked the park with a selection of hair band ballads, glamour girl hits and 80’s favorites. All concerts took place at the Event Stage in Weston Regional Park. Many families packed picnic dinners or dined at the selection of food truck offerings.

The City of Weston operates 14 municipal park and recreational facilities which provide an abundance of amenities for every age and lifestyle. From small passive parks to expansive athletic complexes, Weston has a park experience to please every resident. The largest and most popular, at least according to Our City Weston readers, is Weston Regional Park. The 102-acre park is home to the Weston Community Center as well as the Weston YMCA Family Center. It is Weston’s most active park with eight baseball/softball fields, eight football/soccer fields, eight basketball courts, three roller hockey rinks, four multi-purpose artificial turf courts, three sand volleyball courts, and one skate park. In addition, there is an exercise trail that weaves throughout the park. Weston Regional Park also features two shaded playgrounds. Other park amenities include three picnic shelters with tables and grills that can be rented by residents, five concession stands with restroom facilities, and an Event Stage, where the community gathers for free events such as Moonlight Movies in the Park and the WestonNights Outdoor Concert Series.
