Meet the Auctioneer: David Goodman
David A. Goodman, a professional charity benefit fundraising auctioneer, is the founder and President of Auction Results®, LLC. Auction Results’ sole focus is on high-impact Auction Fundraising for 501(c)(3) Charitable Organizations. David has been a professional benefit auctioneer and entertainer for 30 over years and has helped raise in excess of $500 million dollars for charity through auction events. While based in Chicago, Illinois, David has provided fundraising auctioneer services throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, and his clients and their guests are effusive in their praise.
Goodman stands out from other auctioneers in his use of magic to entertain his audience, a skill he started honing at a very young age. Recently, Mr. Goodman was described by NBC Nightly News as, “Amazing—an auctioneer magician who is the Houdini of the Benefit Auction World!” fascinating combination of quick-talking cadence with spectacular magic, Goodman captures and entertains, ensuring a great time for all.

LIVE AUCTION BIDS
The Live Auction will begin at approximately 6:15 pm.
1. To bid, raise your paddle, with the number visible to the Auctioneer. Live Auction committee spotters will be available to assist the Auctioneer in noting your bid. Use only the paddle number assigned to you.
2. The highest bidder of any item, as acknowledgement by the Auctioneer, will be the purchaser. Questions of priority and procedure shall be decided by Auctioneer, whose decision shall be final and binding. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the Auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer the item in dispute.
3. Upon Auctioneers indication of “Sold”, title to the item will pass to the highest bidder who thereupon assumes full risk and responsibility. By his/her purchase, the bidder waives any claims for liability against Maui Jim Sunglasses, Children’s Home, or the donor of the property or service. Some items are available for prior inspection. All items are sold “As Is”. Dollar values included in any item’s description are estimates provided by the donor and are not warranted by the Live Auction Committee for tax purposes or market value.
PAYMENT
The Children’s Home will invoice all winners and bidders after the Golf Event. All payment is due to the Children’s Home.

Values set forth are estimates only, unless otherwise specified, and are not warranted by the Luau for tax purposes or general value.
Please keep gift certificates in a safe place. They cannot be replaced if lost. Regarding gift certificates, if you are the successful bidder, you are responsible for making contact with the donor of the gift as per the instructions on the gift certificate. Unless otherwise specified on your certificate, or agreed upon between the Donor and Bidder, all auction items and services must be used by the date on each certificate provided.
Purchases are tax deductible only by the amount the price paid exceeds the value of the item received. Winners should retain their receipts for tax purposes.
Maui Jim, Children’s Home, or the Auctioneer assumes no responsibility for the validity of description, authenticity, or condition of any item offered. Maui Jim, Children’s Home, Auctioneer, nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damage that may result from the use of property or services sold.
Maui Jim and the Children’s Home reserve the right to withdraw any item at any time before the actual sale. Maui Jim and the Children’s Home, reserves the right to reject a bid from any bidder. On lots upon which there is a reserve, Maui Jim and the Children’s Home, reserves the right to bid on the lot until the reserve price is reached. With the exception of the Live Auction, the Auction Co-Chairs will act as final authority on any bidding dispute.

The Setting
A trip to Marrakesh, Morocco is a truly enchanting experience that immerses you in the vibrant colors, exotic scents, and rich culture of Morocco. As your group steps off the plane and make their way to Marrakesh, all are immediately greeted by the warm desert breeze and the anticipation of what lies ahead. The moment you enter the city, the kaleidoscope of colors overwhelms your senses. The bustling streets are filled with vibrant textiles, intricate mosaic patterns, and the intoxicating aromas of spices and street food.
The heart and soul of Marrakesh is its historic Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. As you navigate the labyrinthine streets, you find yourself transported back in time. The narrow alleys, known as “souks,” are lined with tiny shops selling everything from beautiful handmade carpets and traditional leather goods to delicate metalwork and mesmerizing lanterns. The sounds of bargaining, the call to prayer echoing from the nearby mosques, and the hustle and bustle of locals and tourists create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Your Accommodations
For seven nights, your group of 10 will stay in a luxurious private villa just a stone’s throw away from the Medina. With five king bedrooms and five bathrooms, this villa features traditional Moroccan architecture and design elements. You can expect beautifully decorated interiors with intricate tilework and colorful textiles. Your villa features a courtyard with your own private pool where you and your group can relax, dine, or enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Highlights
Each day begins with breakfast prepared especially for your group. And for two evenings during your stay, your group will be treated to a chef-prepared dinner featuring Moroccan cuisine. Your group can indulge in traditional tagines, couscous, and other local specialties tailored to the preferences of your group. And as a special treat, your group also will enjoy a full-day desert tour exploring local villages, a Berber souk, and a camel ride through the Atlas Mountains and the Agfay Desert. For your stay, your group will have dedicated concierge and trip-planning services.
RESTRICTIONS: Magical Marrakesh is a vacation package for 10 guests for seven nights. The primary guest must be 25 years of age. Two chef-prepared dinners include your choice of appetizer, followed by a starter, main course, and dessert. Gratuities are not included. Your stay must be booked by July 30, 2024, and your stay must be completed by July 30, 2025. Bookings are based on availability, book as soon as possible for the best choice of available dates. Blackout dates include October 10-31 and the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s. NOT INCLUDED: Gratuities, groceries, staff service fees, airfare, and ground transportation.

Having served the children in our community for 157 years, our staff understand the complex issues that our kids and families face on a regular basis. We work to provide help through our programs which include: residential care, foster care, supervised independent living, private school, crisis intervention, mental health assessment, homeless services, counseling and family preservation.
