Grounds Update

DEAROAKWOODMEMBERS,

Oakwood has had a great spring and it shows. Thanks to theeffortsofthecrew, fertilizing, sprayingweeds, watering sod, mowing rough and edging bunkers the course is looking good. We have had decent growing weather for establishing the cool season fescue areas that have been addedaroundthecourse.Theyhavethickenedupandare ready for play. Aerification on the greens went smoothly and they healed nicely leading to some good earlyseasonconditions.Ithasbeenagreatstartonthecourse.

Some warmer nights and higher temperatures have allowed the zoysia grass on the tees and fairways to emerge in good condition. Typical of zoysia in the spring, some areas need to be sodded but nothing compared with last season. Be aware of the new sod work on the course. Please take care not to play on or drive carts on the sod until it heals. It looks to be a good year for our warm-seasonturfatOakwood.

WiththeincreasedplaythisspringIamstartingtonotice a lot of ball marks on greens and divots in the fairways. Please do your part and fix your ball marks as you play. Alsopleaseutilizethesandbottlesonthecartstofilldivots inthefairways.

The Par Three is developing well aided by the good growingconditionsthisspring.Thegreensareprogressing nicelyandwillbereadyfortheopeningdayfestivities The native areas framing each hole are slowly thickening up adding to the beauty of the course. Daily I am noticing improvement in the turf conditions on the Par Three. It is exciting watching the next great thing at Oakwood take shape.

I look forward to seeing you on the course. It looks to be a greatgolfseasonatOakwood
