As we enter the final stretch of summer, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible season it’s been at Oakwood. It’s been a true pleasure seeing our members, their families, and guests enjoying everything the Club has to offer from lively pool days and memorable evenings on the patio, to the energy on the courts and the camaraderie across our golf courses. This summer marked the first full season with many of our newest amenities, and the positive feedback and enthusiastic use have been fantastic to witness.
While the calendar may be turning, there’s still plenty of summer left to enjoy. August is packed with exciting events, vibrant social gatherings, and more opportunities to connect with fellow members. Whether you're here for a casual dinner, a quick nine holes, or one of our signature events, I encourage you to make the most of this last month of the season. On behalf of the entire Oakwood team, thank you for continuing to make this Club so special we look forward to seeing you around the property soon.
OAKWOOD MEMBERS,
As we move into the final month of summer, our team has been hard at work maintaining and improving course conditions across the property. July brought both high heat and intermittent storms, which presented some challenges but we’ve stayed ahead of the curve with proactive turf care and strategic scheduling.
You may have noticed sod work completed in several areas across the course. These improvements targeted spots affected by seasonal wear or winter damage, including green surrounds, fairways, and low-lying areas. We’ve also continued routine aerification, moisture management, and bunker maintenance to ensure optimal playability.
Looking ahead, we appreciate your continued cooperation in observing cart rules and helping us protect the turf especially during high-traffic times. As always, our goal is to deliver championship conditions day in and day out, and we thank you for your ongoing support.
— Jacob Foster Head Golf Course Superintendent, Oakwood Country Club
Greetings Oakwood Members,
As August arrives, we are embracing the return of our regular routines and structure, even as summer comes to an end for many. However, here at Oakwood, the fun continues at the Golf Course. This August, we are eagerly preparing for our Men's premiere event - the Knickerbocker. Scheduled to take place from August 14th to August 16th, the golf course, Par 3 course & practiced facilities will be closed during this event.
We are thrilled at the opportunity to showcase Oakwood at its best for our members and their guests during this event. To ensure the success of the Knickerbocker, we are in need of volunteers to serve as forecaddies. If you have children or grandchildren who are interested in this role, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Looking ahead to the Fall season at Oakwood, we have scheduled Fall Aerification on August 18th and 19th. By performing aerification a couple of weeks earlier, will ensure that our greens will be in top condition for the upcoming fall golf season. Please note that the Golf course will be closed during this maintenance period.
Stay tuned for more details on these new events and the fall golf schedule. We are grateful for the wonderful year we've had so far and are excited to continue building on that success this fall.
Thank you for your continued support and participation.
All the best,
Hunter Hayes, PGA Head Golf Professional Oakwood Country Club

Myth: Coach Mo’s favorite part of teaching is staying inside the state-of-the-art Performance Center, working solely on full swings. Truth: While she loves the technology and tools in the Performance Center, Coach Mo truly comes alive when she’s out on the course, helping golfers lower their scores where it really counts. On-course lessons are her favorite way to teach because they offer real-time, situational learning that directly translates to better performance.
Whether it's choosing the smartest angle off the tee, making confident club selections, managing trouble spots, or sharpening your mental approach, Mo helps you turn every shot into a smarter decision. It’s not just about swing mechanics—it’s about strategy, awareness, and learning how to score.
And the best part? These sessions don’t have to be full 9-hole rounds. Even an hour spent tackling a few tricky holes can completely transform your approach and boost your confidence.
If you haven’t taken an on-course lesson with Mo—or if you’re curious about what one game reach out anytime. She’d love to he game to the next level!

While August may mark the unofficial wind-down of summer, I’ve always viewed it as a time of reflection and opportunity. It’s a chance to assess where we are physically and mentally after a season full of activity. Whether you’ve spent your summer on the golf course, the pickleball court, or simply enjoying the outdoors, this is the perfect moment to take stock of how your body is holding up Maybe you’re managing a lingering injury, or perhaps you’ve noticed areas where better movement or strength could make your favorite activities even more enjoyable
The good news? As an Oakwood member, you have access to support and solutions that can work on your schedule and at your pace something that’s not always possible in traditional care settings Whether you’re recovering from an acute injury, preparing for surgery, or simply hoping to move and feel better, I’d love to be a resource I’m here to answer questions, help evaluate concerns for you or your family members, and most importantly, get you back on the path to feeling and performing your best whether that means optimizing your golf swing or improving everyday function.
Don’t hesitate to reach out I’m always happy to help
Whether you’re training in the Clubhouse Gym or the Oakwood Performance Center (OPC), our mission remains the same: to build custom training programs tailored to your specific goals, needs, and lifestyle Every plan is rooted in purposeful, varied movement that supports long-term health and performance
If you’re able to swing a golf club, there’s a whole lot we can do in the gym to support that whether it’s boosting performance, improving movement quality, or aiding in recovery.
That said, let’s be honest: the gym isn’t going to teach you how to swing the club better. That comes from time on the course and working with your golf coach What we can do in the gym is build the raw materials the strength, mobility, and durability your body needs to move well, feel good, and handle the physical demands of the game Think of training as the foundation that allows you to practice, play, and perform with greater consistency and less pain
So whether you’re a serious golfer, or just serious about moving and feeling better, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to help you build your foundation for better golf and better health.
