NYSID was designated by the NYS Education Department, pursuant to New York State Finance Law, to facilitate employment for individuals with disabilities through a statewide membership of disability support organizations and private sector business partners.
Since its humble beginnings in 1975, NYSID has expanded into new product and service categories, new customer marketplaces, and new technologies, steadily improving employment choices for individuals of diverse abilities.
In Fiscal Year 2024, more than 6,000 individuals worked on NYSID contracts, earning $82 million in competitive integrated wages.
