RACE 2024

NSP is one of the world’s largest brands in recreational surfing and stand up paddleboarding. Since 2011 NSP has produced some of the fastest SUP race boards on the planet, quickly racking up some of the most sought after and prestigious titles with the help of national and international athletes.
Our race designer, Alain Teurquetil, first came across stand up paddling back in 2008 when his tandem surfing buddy came back from Hawaii and decided to leave a paddle with Alain. Finding a paddle board in Australia back then was next to impossible, but another coincidence had Alain meet Dale Chapman. Living just an hour away, Dale was the only shaper on the Gold Coast with an interest in SUP design. Intrigued, Alain spent a lot of time paddling and trying out different concepts that year.
Several months later, Alain was traveling back from Europe and visited the Gold Coast once more. This time, Dale was working on 12’6” shapes and unlimited race boards, which caught Alain’s interest. After trying a 16’ race board, the virus really got a hold of him. Exploring different performance designs together, Alain quickly hit the limitations of his software. A solution came from Shape3D, a software company specializing in surf designs. By tweaking their CAD program beyond the metrics of classic surf and windsurf designs, creating advanced race boards from design to finish became effortless.
In 2011, team NSP, under the direction of Trent Pedersen (today’s Brand Manager and CEO), along with his team, produced their first production race boards. These boards were later selected by the ISA to be used in 2012 at the ISA SUP World Championships in Peru. From there, NSP, with their boards quickly gaining a reputation for speed approached Dale to collaborate on a race program for the brand. Under the condition that a top athlete would be signed to promote, test and help develop the race brand, Travis Grant joined the NSP team that same year and history was made.
Travis rode Alain’s winning designs and Dale shaped the prototypes into existence. In 2013 Alain and Dale tested their first 12’6” design in Europe, laying the foundation of NSP’s current racing and touring program. Alain with the help of our pro team continues to design and develop the NSP race program. Together, Alain, Travis, Titouan, Ty, Christian, Bodie, Duna and Annie have secured top podium spots around the world, from the 4 Molokai to the 3 Carolina Cup, 12 Towers, 3 Air France to the many Euro Tour wins, and 10 ICF World Champions.
NSP has some of the very best watermen and women training and testing NSP products. Their findings, in combination with Alain‘s designs create NSP products that perform and continue to be at the top of podiums around the world.

After more than 2 years of meticulous R+D NSP releases the latest addition to its renowned and multiple world title winning race board line-up. With the growth of short format races requiring running starts, flat water sprints and buoy turns (Sprint/ technical), Alain Teurquetil and NSP’s racing team are stoked to be competing on and releasing to market what we consider to be the most racing focused model to date.
To create the Cheetah, we took the fastest boards from our range, tweaked and tested them until we had something specifically designed for Sprint Tech racing with off the blocks instant speed, to help get racers to the first buoy turn and be stable enough to get around it in first place.
The Cheetah features a refined outline paired with a shallow, recessed cockpit, which is moved forward to increase instant speed while being easy to jump on during race starts. It does not replace the Ninja, Puma or Carolina but provides the edge for the speedy hoons that love this format of racing.
The Cheetah will only be released in 14’ with 2 high speed widths at 21” and 22.5” in our ultra-light Pro Carbon construction. Not for the faint hearted; NSP’s newest high octane Sprint Technical board has arrived!
TECH FEATURES:
• Pro Carbon construction.
• Shallow dugout for comfort and stability.
• All new refined outline and design created especially for Short Format Sprint technical racing.
• Narrow widths for speed.
• PVC reinforced deck.
• Carbon and innegra reinforcements for added impact protection.
• 2 side handles and 1 deck handle for easy transport and handling.
The NSP Carolina is a winning tool for 90% of all racing conditions that a competitive stand-up paddle racer encounters.
The bottom shape of the Carolina remains the same, as it continues to conquer a lot of podium finishes. An increase in rail height decreases the amount of water collected, and by reducing the length of the recessed area, less water is collected at buoy turns.
A reduced width is nothing without stability. Optimizing the center of gravity for the Carolina resulted in a more balanced riding experience. This allowed us to decrease the width for noticeable performance gains.
By lowering the center of gravity across the entire shape, not just the standing area, athletes benefit consistently, even when they are on the back of the board. The improved stability allows athletes to go more narrow, and reap the benefits of the increased performance throughout the Carolina range.
Design:
• The Carolina is fully wrapped in Pro Carbon technology with extra carbon innegra reinforcements around the nose, tail and lip of the cockpit.
• Heightened rail lip around cockpit reduces water intake in the standing area.
• Recessed deck allows for low center of gravity and adds stability.
• High-performance tail for easy buoy turns without collecting wash.
• Accelerator Vacuum System (AVS) for quick water drain from the cockpit.
• Dug-out rails for wider stance creates additional width and improves stability.
Fins:
Designed and developed exclusively for NSP by Keith McCulloch and Mike Wazenski, the NSP 22 and 24 racing fins are designed to deliver top performance: expect excellent tracking, stability, efficiency, speed and easy acceleration.
NINJA 14’0” Pro Carbon
A predominantly flat-water weapon that excels in chop and small bumps. The Ninja range is all about efficiency, saving the energy riders need for longer runs, right up to the finish line.
Originally a flat-water racer designed to conquer disruptive chop, the Ninja evolved into a flat-water board that will handle (mild) sea conditions. A recessed deck allows for a lower center of gravity, while AVS (Accelerated Vacuum System) drainage pods quickly empty out your standing area. The increased volume, along with the straightened outlines give the new Ninja glide, speed and versatility.
Evolve
The evolution continues in 2023 with an improved, more flattened deck in the tail section for confidence and control at hectic buoy turns.
The Ninja bottom and deck design allows widths of just 20“ for elite racers, and they are scaled to a width of 21”, 22”, 23” and 24” as well.
Key Design Elements:
• Recessed deck for a low center of gravity, adding stability
• Reduced outside walls at the tail to create a flatter area and be more usable and stable during buoy turns
• Accelerated Vacuum System (AVS) for quick water drainage
• Full length nose, maximizing the waterline and allowing higher consistent speed
Fins:
The NSP Race 22 and 24 fins are high-performance designs. Expect excellent tracking, stability, efficiency, speed and effortless acceleration. The 20“, 21”, 22” and 23” come out-of-the-box with the NSP Race Fin 22, while the Ninja Pro Carbon 24” comes with the NSP Race Fin 24.
• 3x Neoprene handles, 1 long, 2 short
• Evolved placement of the AVS pods (Accelerator Vacuum System)
• FCS mount for GoPro® or GPS and Gore-Tex valve
Race 22 on the 20”, 21”, and 22” Race 24 on the 23” and 24”
• Shortened recess at the tail reduces water intake during buoy turns
• Heightened rails minimizes water entering the cockpit
• The Accelerated Vacuum System (AVS) have been repositioned to the underside of the board, allowing water to escape quick lier from the dugout
NINJA 12’6” Junior Pro Model With the rapid growth of the Junior Racing Class in SUP, NSP’s racing team commissioned a shape to compete in this new class. Starting with the proven DNA of the 14’ Ninja, the development team focused on the core principles of speed and versatility, recreating a 12’6” version of the original, allowing smaller and lighter riders to leverage this new shape to its full potential.
Two more sizes
The two 12’6” Junior Pro Models have the same rocker as the full-size version, but benefit from a refined nose area and a flat deck, as opposed to the recessed deck of the full-size Ninjas. And without dugout, the AVS is no longer necessary, creating a smoother surface that adds to the efficiency of the Ninja.
Efficiency for lightweight riders
Like the full-size version, the 12’6” Junior Pro Model is predominantly a flat-water racer that excels in chop and small bumps. Ninja shapes are about efficiency and conserving energy, allowing its riders to paddle faster consistently, right up to the finish line.
30- To 50kg riders are going to set personal bests with these Junior Pro Models and they are perfect for markets with a strong club presence.
Key Design Elements:
• Low center of gravity for extra balance
• Wide tail for confident turns and control at the buoys
• Full-length and submerged nose for maximized efficiency and glide
Fin:
The NSP Race 22 fins a high-performance design. Expect excellent tracking, stability, efficiency, speed and effortless acceleration.
• 3x Neoprene handles, 1 Long, 2 Short
• FCS mount for GoPro® or GPS and Gore-Tex valve
• NSP Race 22 fin
The Sonic is our pure open-water, downwind raceboard that also performs exceptionally well in crosswind and upwind conditions. These boards are at their very best when you hit some chop or string together bump after bump on ocean swell.
The Sonic focuses on increasing stability with a lower center of gravity and adopting the tail same as the Carolina shape of the incredibly efficient Carolina raceboard.
By lowering the center of gravity riders are able to choose a more narrow board, in turn leading to an increase in speed.
The flattish-square tail allows you to push over the bumps in open ocean swell, while on the flats, the tail sits higher in the water, generating more planing speed.
Inside the cockpit, exclusively in the standing area, dug-out rails enable a wider stance. This subtle tweak rewards riders with additional stability and more comfort. Stability allows riders to focus on winning instead of compensating, especially when riding off the back of the board.
If you are committed to racing, improving your personal best and downwind skills; choose what our pros race and pick a 22”. For anyone else we recommend the 24.25” with the width and stability to keep you on board and get you across the finish line early.
Design:
• The Sonic is fully wrapped in Pro Carbon technology with extra carbon innegra reinforcements around the nose, tail and lip of the cockpit.
• Heightened rail lip around cockpit reduces water intake in the standing area.
• Recessed deck allowing for low center of gravity and adds stability.
• High-performance tail for getting onto bumps easily and powering across the flat sections.
Your flat deck racer for athletes at every level, in all conditions.
The Puma is the versatile and most user-friendly performance racer in the line-up, with great stability at a narrow width. Stability really makes a difference in crowded buoy turns or during a quick surf when you hit the back of the board.
If you want to kick turn easily, if you want to play in waves, if you want to race downwind, and if you are not yet comfortable with a recessed deck, or if you simply prefer to race on a flat deck board, the NSP Puma is perfect for you.
Initially designed for beach racing, the Puma has evolved into a very capable downwind and flatwater board.
Design:
The Puma shares its bottom and rocker line with the latest Carolina, improving stability at equal width and significant improvements in speed.
Fin:
Our world-class Surf Race 20 is the more appropriate fin for beach racing, buoy racing and the ability to pull off consistent kick turns in the middle of a race or in Travis’ words; “It’s the fin better suited for turning and surfing.”
The dominating unlimited downwinder.
The Molokai is named after and designed for one of the most demanding races – The Molokai 2 Oahu. NSP team rider Travis Grant won this legendary title 4 times. His experience in this grueling race, combined with the designs of Alain Teurquetil accumulated in the Molokai Unlimited Pro Carbon, an elite shape that performs in any downwind, upwind, side-wind or semi-flat to choppy race you find yourself in.
Balanced rocker to save energy. Integrated steering system.
Design:
The 17’2”x23” recess uses a concept bottom that combines the added stability of the 2018 and the extreme glide these shapes are known for. This allows you to link bump after bump in an effortless way.
Key design elements can be found in the 14’ Sonic as well. The 17’2”x25” recess also shares important design elements of the 17’2”x23”, but offers a more comfortable racing experience.
Rudder:
Our world-class Molokai comes with a winning carbon race rudder designed by Trent Pedersen.
Steering system:
• 100% Carbon frame, steering arm, rod mount and tension rod
• 100% serviceable and interchangeable
• 316 stainless parts, brass inserts
• Can be set for left or right foot steering
Not everyone is blessed with enough storage space for a dedicated race board. Athletes wanting to do away with roof racks and cumbersome transportation should look into the Race FSL.
FSL = Fusion Light
Fusion-reinforced double layer glueless pre-lamination combined with the new machine woven dropstitch. Compared to traditional knitted dropstitch, the fibers of the new machine woven dropstich are stiffer and thus the amount of fibers per square meter can be reduced. This allows an average weight reduction of 1.5 kg, while the board is also stiffer, less bouncy, and faster acceleration.
• Double layer rail construction with double sealing rail band
• New low-profile Air7 V3 finbox system creates less drag while racing and allows for easy board roll-up while not in use
• 2” scotty mount D-rings for PFD attachment on tail
• Thermoformed EVA Deckpad for durability, grip and comfort
NSP has partnered with Air7 Fin Systems, the leader in performance and quality parts for inflatable water craft since 2009, for the next fin revolution on our Race Inflatable range. The Air7 (V3) is the future fin system for all inflatable boards. The thickness of inflatable boards is not always the same and with the V3 you can now easily adjust the fin box to suit all thicknesses, from 4 inches to 6 inches and more.
The low-profile fin box creates less drag while racing and when not in use, remove the box, easily roll up the board and store it in the supplied backpack.
Specs:
The 210mm / 8.3 inch fin track makes the V3 compatible with your existing NSP Race fins and suits most classic US box fins and a growing range of “push in and go” Click Fins.
Benefits:
• Low profile.
The V3 is more hydrodynamic than other fin boxes on the market, with a lower profile, offering less drag, making the board more efficient and faster. And the V3 fin box gives the board the look, feel and performance of a “hard board”.
• Stronger and stiffer.
Not only joined to the bottom surface, the V3 is also connected to the top and internal portion of the board. This makes for not only a much stronger, but stiffer board, which equals less losses to flex and more power transferred into your ride with every stroke.
• Completely removable. Travel easier, stow smarter.
The clear benefits to the customers is the board is less cumbersome and now much more easy to roll-up and store. To retailers and warehouses, the benefits include: smaller packing, less storage volume, less warehouse space and reduced transportation fees.
• Replace parts easier:
Fixing and replacing broken fin boxes creates a lot of undue stress, cost and frustration to customers and brands. Eliminating downtime on the water is key and with the “pop-in and go” ease of the V3 , riders are back on the water in no time. Replacement parts can now be easily kept in stock, greatly reducing shipping back and forth across the country / world.
• Better for the Environment.
Reduced shipping volume = smaller carbon footprint. In addition, with a non-permanent, non-glued and removable part, it is much easier to replace and recycle due to damage or at the end of board life. The V3 puts us one step closer to saving the planet!
To Remove Fin Box :
1) Uninstall fin.
2) Deflate board.
3) Decouple BELT from TOP PLATE, (leave attached to track part).
4) Completely remove fin box (both parts) from board.
5) Reconnect removed parts with BELT for safe storage.
Scan the QR-code for a video tutorial on how to install the Air7 fin box or follow the instructions below:
1) Remove the TOP PLATE but leave belt attached.
2) Inflate board just to get basic shape (less than one psi)
3) Don’t inflate board yet. Place the TRACK PART of fin box under the board.
4) Pull BELT through the board.
Note:
Remember that the velcro needs face outwards from the box so that when its all together the strap can be tucked away.
D rings.
* Tension generated from the pressure will hold the strap tight. To loosen you will need to deflate the board slightly.

Our NSP paddle range is designed to get you where you want to go with ease, efficiency and speed. Utilizing the best materials, lay-ups and production processes, NSP paddles are engineered with just the right amount of flex, strength and weight to allow for longer paddle sessions on the water.
The power face of our Speedster and Allround models are exactly the same, however the difference lies in the lay-ups. We now offer our top of the line carbon, eco-friendly coco fiber hybrid and an eco, but yet price-friendly carbon hybrid with a more pronounced dihedral.
The raised and extended dihedral provides more strength to the blade and allows a smooth transition and thinner blade. The edge is only 1.7mm thick, creating the smoothest water entrance with immediate bite. The raised tip is parallel to the shaft for aggressive catch and controlling the pace going through the power face.
Every rider will have the same feel when the blade hits the water. NSP blades produce consistent speed, conserve energy and allow paddlers to get more out of their session, every single time.
• The Speedster, Allround and Elements models have the same power face.
• New designed profile of the power face.
• More pronounced dihedral - beginning right at the shaft, we created a double concave to direct the water flow, giving stability through the whole stroke while minimizing fluttering.
• The higher dihedral provides more strength to the blade and allows a smooth transition.
• The edge is only 1.7mm thick, creating the smoothest water entrance with immediate bite.
• Raised tip is parallel to the shaft for aggressive catch and controlling the pace going through the power face.

NSP
was born in 2001 from the vision of Bruce
“Buzz” Hansen, a life-long surfer, skater and all round waterman.
While working on Maui as a custom surfboard builder, Buzz had an epiphany about producing affordable, versatile, durable and great performing surfboards. Buzz correctly realized there were everyday surfers who needed an affordable board that performed in Hawaii, yet they didn’t require “custom” or specialized competition or extreme surf boards.
His dream was a utilitarian surfboard that could ride in the back of a pick-up truck to the beach, be left in the sun all-day or loaned to a friend without fear of damage – of course it had to surf well enough to be given to his long-time surfing buddies, neighbors and friends.
The quest began, so Buzz summoned his friends working for a leading composites manufacturer with the goal to create a light, very durable surf board at highly competitive prices. Working together they introduced a new epoxy technology that would go on to revolutionize the industry and quite possibly recreational surfing. Weekend and occasional surfers no longer had to rely on the ill- performing “foamies” or be relegated to the used board market.
Our code name during development was “New Surf Project”. The name stuck and “NSP” was established. Over the years, we changed and evolved, and so did the name. Today, NSP stands for “Nature”, “Surfing” and “Products” because at the end of the day, that is what the company is all about.
Creating amazing products, firmly maintaining our surfing roots while we expand in other exciting water sports with the best possible designers, engineers and materials involved. And last but definitely not least; “Nature”. Choosing repurposed, recycled or renewable resources wherever we can is essential to us as a brand, creating a more sustainable future for ourselves and our sport.

And remember, the key to success in social media is being “on it”. Posting for the sake of posting will show, and your posts will go unnoticed.
Engage your shops, team riders, ambassadors, share demo days, winter sales, summer sales, product reviews or anything else you think is interesting. Your audience will let you know what they like.
Tagging is what lets people know you are talking to them, and will trigger engagement. Tagging a single person activates their network, carrying you and your message that much further.
Being creative and adding the hashtags that apply to a specific situation will allow you to get more followers so make sure to change things up!
