Designed and developed exclusively for NSP by Keith McCulloch and Mike Wazenski
Designed by Titouan Puyo, Travis Grant, Marcus Hansen, Alain Teurquetil and Trent Pedersen, the Surf Race fin is the final result of several iterations being developed parallel to the NSP racing program.
For beach racing, buoy racing and the ability to pull off consistent kick turns in the middle of a race, the NSP Surf Race 20 is the more appropriate fin. Or in Travis’s words; it’s the fin better suited for turning and surfing.
The Surf Race 20 fin comes standard with all NSP Puma boards.

Whether you are foiling, surfing or paddling – the NSP traction pads provide long-lasting grip and confidence. Especially in foiling, a delicate balance is required to get you flying over the surface of the water and your feet need precise positioning to control pitch, roll and yaw.
NSP tail pads feature a kicktail and a mild dome in the center of the pad. The ridges of the dome will make sure your back foot finds the dead center of your board without ever looking down.
Thermoformed texture ensures your back foot stays planted over the mast at all times. For hard pumping or committing to a tight radius, get that extra leverage by moving your back foot against the kicktail and force the last bit of performance from your board.
There is nothing worse than a peeling deck pad, which is why NSP uses premium 3M adhesives, as it provides the best possible bond between your board and the thermoformed EVA. Different from conventional EVA, thermoforming gives these pads a more abrasion-resistant layer that will hold up longer. Make sure your board is properly cleaned up before applying the pads, and wait 24 hours before hitting the water to get the best possible bond for years to come. Removal is easiest with a hot air gun and some soapy water.
A 3-piece tail pad is the most versatile pattern that still offers variable width and an arched center strip. It’s the easiest to install, offers tons of grip and will work on any board. In combination with the 4-piece pattern for the front part of the deck, you should have the standing area of your board covered.
The deeper the grooves, the more resistance against slipping and superior traction.
Performance riders benefit from a 45 degrees kick whenever your foot needs to be well-placed to blow out a wave. Apart from the comfort aspect, an arch helps your backfoot instinctively find the centre line of your board without ever having to look down.
Made from repurposed EVA. This pad is entirely made from thermoformed EVA off-cuts. As a surfboard manufacturer, we are committed to sustainability and recycling EVA leftovers is our way to minimize the ecological impact of our production processes, thus reducing waste in our landfills. Extremely durable, full of traction, these thermoformed pads will outlast conventional EVA.
• Available in 3 designs.
• Pad colors will vary depending on the off-cuts from our supplier.

Airwave fuselages are designed without compromise. Our design brief was clear “must be hydro-dynamically efficient, has to be strong, stiff, cannot bend, with solid mast and wing connections and it must hold up to wipe-outs in the shore break”. Each precision fuselage is individually CNC cut from aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum and is anodized for protection and a great look.
Available in two sizes:
Fuselage 70cm
Fuselage 85cm*
•NFOIL09
•NFOIL26
* supplied with 2 degree shim
The regressed mounting point for the mast creates additional rigidity, strength and durability.
Most hydrofoils in the market are set to a single AOA (angle of attack) at the back wing, usually varying between one- and three degrees. The Airwave is different, as it comes with three precision tuning shims, allowing the rider to adjust the AOA of the back wing to customize the balance between lift,
For example, the 3° shim (black) allows for pumping with maximum efficiency, but is slower and at higher speeds, it generates too much lift, requiring continuous counteracting by applying front foot pressure. Switching to the 1° shim (silver) gives less lift, is harder to pump but offers maximum speed. The 2° shim (orange) is the most neutral of the three, it’s the base line we design all our foils to and is the best place to start as in regular surfing, each shim has its own feel and performance characteristics. Since a hydrofoil moves on three axis, instead of the two we recommend you experiment as your skills develop.
The 85 Fuselage is for windsurfers and kitesurfing and is supplied with a single 2° shim only. The fuselage can be used with the standard shims supplied with the Airwave set, but they are a little narrow, as the Fuselage 85 tip (tail) is wider.
With a width of 135mm (5.31”), these masts are 22.5% wider than most others on the market. The wider cord allows for a more efficient foil profile, more directional stability and a higher rigidity 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum. All Airwave masts feature 3 full-length channels for increased stiffness. Airwave masts are anodized for protection and a great look, and sealed with silicone plugs to keep them watertight.
All Airwaves can be interchanged with the following add-on sizes:
Mast 60cm Entry level and shallows (1.45kg)
Mast 70cm Comes standard with any NSP Airwave package (1.7kg)
Mast 80cm More advanced surfers/will windsurf too (1.9kg)
Mast 90cm Windsurf, kitesurf and wing (2.1kg)
Mast 100cm Kitesurf and windsurfer (2.3kg)

NSP was born in 2001 from the vision of Bruce “Buzz” Hansen,
a life-long surfer, skater and all round waterman.
While working on Maui as a custom surfboard builder, Buzz had an epiphany about producing affordable, versatile, durable and great performing surfboards. Buzz correctly realized there were everyday surfers who needed an affordable board that performed in Hawaii, yet they didn’t require “custom” or specialized competition or extreme surf boards.
The quest began, so Buzz summoned his friends working for a leading composites manufacturer with the goal to create a light, very durable surf board at highly competitive prices. Working together they introduced a new epoxy technology that would go on to revolutionize the industry and quite possibly recreational surfing. Weekend and occasional surfers no longer had to rely on the ill- performing “foamies” or be relegated to the used board market.
Our code name during development was “New Surf Project”. The name stuck and “NSP” was established. Over the years, we changed and evolved, and so did the name. Today, NSP stands for “Nature”, “Surfing” and “Products” because at the end of the day, that is what the company is all about.
Creating amazing products, firmly maintaining our surfing roots while we expand in other exciting water sports with the best possible designers, engineers and materials involved. And last but definitely not least; “Nature”. Choosing repurposed, recycled or renewable resources wherever we can is essential to us as a brand, creating a more sustainable future for ourselves and our sport.
Bruce ‘Buzz’ Hansen on one of the first NSP epoxy surfboards
Today, NSP is one of the world’s largest brands in recreational surfing and stand-up paddle boards. Everyday new enthusiasts, young and old, go out and introduce their friends and family to the freedom of the sport and the brand.
Since 2013 NSP has produced some of the fastest SUP race boards on the planet, quickly racking up some of the most sought after and prestigious titles with the help of national and international athletes.
In almost 20 years, with hundreds of thousands of boards produced, our core values remain the same. NSP stays true to the vision of creating great performing, affordable, durable surf and paddle boards that allow everyone to catch more waves.
• Sold our first boards in Australia and Hawaii

To create a utilitarian surf, race, foil or paddle board that can ride in the back of a pick-up truck, be left in the sun all-day or loaned to a friend – without fear of damage – and of course, that performs well.
Seeing people of all ages and skill levels enjoying the lifestyle of surf and paddle boarding by providing boards that paddle faster, catch more waves, last longer and are a whole lot of fun to ride.
