WANT TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR 2060 FAVES? EMAIL US hello @ whatson2060.com.au
Former journalist and political advisor Imogen has lived in 2060 for seven years.
My favourite places in the morning are…I love grabbing a coffee from Piato and a couple of bombolinis from Fiore, both on Blues Point Road in McMahons Point. Fiore is such a welcome addition to our area and I appreciate how early Sam, Alberto and the team wake up to make us delicious treats.
The best meal I’ve had in North Sydney was at…Poetica on Denison Street. They cook on an open fire and I love their focaccia, sugarloaf cabbage and whole grilled snapper.
If I want to take myself on a date…I’ll go and grab a new book from Helen at the Blues Point Bookshop in McMahons Point and then I’ll head to Loulou in Milsons Point, order myself a glass of chilled champagne and hide out in the bar or on their sunny terrace.
For a cocktail, I go to… good old Piato in McMahons Point, where the boys make an excellent spicy margarita and serve it up with oodles of charm.
My favourite local walk… involves a meander among the Angophoras at beautiful Balls Head reserve in Waverton followed by a stroll along the waterfront at Sawmillers Reserve in McMahons Point. If I’m feeling energetic, I’ll then head to Lavender Bay to do a few sets of the stairs that lead down to the harbour. Brutal on the legs but excellent!
The thing about living in this area I love the most is… that we’re surrounded by nature. We’re close to the bush, the Harbour, Balmoral Beach and lots more, yet we have the North Sydney CBD and Sydney CBD right on the doorstep as well.
We proudly acknowledge the Cammeraygal people of the Eora nation as customary owners of the land on which we live, work and share these stories. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future.
