Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this message finds you well. We’ve had a wonderful week with some truly memorable events that I’m excited to share with you.
Our Year 1 students recently enjoyed their Pyjama Day Breakfast. It was heartwarming to see our young learners and teachers in their favourite pyjamas, gathering for breakfast together and setting a positive tone for the day. We’re thrilled with how well the students embraced the theme and enjoyed the morning. I am also grateful for the parents who came to assist with the breakfast.
Some of our Years 5 and 6 students participated in the "Write a Book in a Day" event earlier this week. Our students worked diligently to write and produce an entire book within a single day. It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and teamwork as they crafted imaginative stories and brought their ideas to life. This event not only enhanced their writing skills but also emphasized the power of working together to achieve a common goal. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the creativity they demonstrated. The students who participated raised money to go towards much-needed childhood cancer research through The Kids’ Cancer Project.
R U OK? Day provided an important opportunity for our students to learn about the significance of mental health and support. Many students came to school with a splash of yellow to help celebrate this day. R U OK? Day emphasizes the importance of checking in on one another and fostering an environment of empathy and understanding. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day meaningful for our students.
Our Primary CSEN Athletics Day was a highlight this week, filled with excitement and sportsmanship. Approximately 40 of our Primary students showcased their athletic talents across various events. It was wonderful to see our students encouraging each other and celebrating their achievements. The day was a great reminder of the value of healthy competition and the joy of participating in
sports. Congratulations to all who took part and contributed to such a successful event.
As we continue to celebrate and support our students’ growth and learning, I want to extend my gratitude to all the staff and families who contribute to making Northside a great place. Your involvement and support are crucial to our school community.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. I pray for God's blessings and protection for you and your family.
May God bless you and your family, have a wonderful weekend.
Chris Drowley Director of Primary School Learning

The way that you became Mary Anning for the Coin Operated Museum of Science and helped raise so much money for charity was inspiring! You spoke so confidently and worked hard on learning new vocabulary as you ’became’ a palaeontologist. You brought joy to the community with your bright smile and engaging presentation. It is wonderful to be in community with you, Hannah. A great verse for you is Psalm 118:24
For demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit during our College Musical, Shrek, you worked beautifully with your Prep Buddy, helping them achieve success in the final performance. Your actions truly reflected God's love and care for His children. Well done, we love seeing the gold in you shine.

Dear parents and carers
Re: $400 School Saving Bonus
Families want the absolute best for their kids. But with the current cost of living – uniforms, camps, sports and more – it all adds up.
That’s why the Allan Labor Government is making life that little bit easier for families, by providing a one-off $400 School Saving Bonus.
Non-government school students who will be in Prep through to Year 12 in 2025, and who are receiving the means-tested Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF), are eligible for the School Saving Bonus.
Parents and carers do not need to apply, with the School Saving Bonus being paid to nongovernment schools for eligible students from late November 2024
The $400 School Saving Bonus is available for each child. That means an eligible family with three school-aged children will receive a total of $1,200.
Importantly, the School Saving Bonus is available in addition to the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund.
To learn more about the School Saving Bonus, talk to your school about how this cost of living relief will apply to you
More information about the School Saving Bonus is also available at vic.gov.au/schoolsaving-bonus.
And from our families to yours – best of luck for the 2025 school year
Sincerely,
Hon. Jacinta Allan Premier of Victoria Mum of two
The Hon. Ben Carroll MP Deputy Premier Minister for Education
