Are you ready to make a difference in our College community? Student Leadership Applications for 2026 are now available!
At Northside Christian College, leadership isn’t about being in charge, it’s about serving others. As a student leader, you have the opportunity to shine God’s light in our College and beyond, using your gifts to build a community full of faith, hope and love.
We are seeking passionate and committed leaders for the following positions:
Years 7–9, Year 11 SRC Representatives (two per year level)
Year 10 House Captains
Year 12 College Captains (two positions)
Year 12 College Deputies (two positions)
Year 12 Portfolio Captains (e.g. Music, Arts, Community, etc.)
Please note: All Year 12 Captain applications require a pastoral reference to be submitted alongside the application.
Applications close on Friday 10th October – don’t miss your chance to lead, serve, and inspire!

PREMIERS READING CHALLENGE
We are thrilled to announce the results of this year’s Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge, and celebrate the wonderful efforts of our students! A big congratulations to the 184 students who successfully completed the challenge. Together, they read a remarkable total of 11,160 books! What an incredible achievement and testament to their enthusiasm for reading.
Congratulations to our prize winner, Scarlett (Year 7), who was awarded a $100 Cinema Gift Card in a lucky draw among all Secondary students who completed the challenge.
We’re excited to announce that The Noble Knights had the most students sign up and complete the challenge. They have been awarded 300 points towards their final House tally!
In second place came the Worthy Warriors earning 150 points and in third place the Courageous Conquerors earnt 50 points towards their overall tally for the end of year House competition.

MIDDLE SCHOOLDEBATING IN TERM 4
In Term 4, the Debating Association of Victoria (DAV) is holding the Years 7 and 8 Junior Debating Program here at Northside.
Why Debate?
Debating is a valuable skill that: Promotes confidence and effective public speaking.
Encourages logical thinking, social awareness, and interest in current affairs. Supports learning across all subject areas. Develops critical, creative, ethical, intercultural, and social capabilities.
When?
Competition Schedule (evenings at Northside):
Training Night – Tuesday 7th October 2025
Round 1 – Tuesday 14th October 2025
Round 2 – Tuesday 28th October 2025
Round 3 – Tuesday 11th November 2025
Times TBC It is usually a 6:00pm or 7:00pm start
Expectations:
Prepare for the debate beforehand.
Please arrive on time in the evenings.
Parents are invited to stay.
Some training is offered - it's recommended but not compulsory.
Maintain clear communication with the team and teacher if you are unable to attend.
Students forfeit if they do not have three members on a team to debate Have fun learning!

E-waste collection
Take youre-waste to a better place!
To make recycling e-waste easy, we will be hosting an e-waste recycling skip from Thursday 28th August - Wednesday 16th September Bin will be located next to rubbish skips opposite oval basketball courts
E-waste refers to any household appliance with a battery or cord. You can put any small household electrical items with a cord or battery into it, such as:
•television
•computers
•
• laptops tablets
•printers
•faxes
•scanner •copiers
•
• •monitors
•modems keyboards speakers
•gaming consoles
•set top boxes
•
•
•hair dryers
•hi-fi equipment
•
• video and DVD players electronic toys
•vacuum cleaners
•toasters routers server
What WILL be accepted:
•and other household electronic appliances.
Any small household electrical or electronic items with a cord or battery, for example: computers, televisions, vacuum cleaners, printers, toasters, hair dryers, video and DVD players, hi-fi equipment, stereo equipment, digital cameras and video cameras.
What will NOT be accepted:
Any whitegoods (refrigerators, freezers, dish washers, washing machines, clothes dryers and microwaves) and solar panels.
Please note that no items may be removed from the e-waste bin
