PRIMARY NEWS PRIMARY NEWS
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we have seen several students at school wearing incorrect uniforms. Some of the common uniform infringements include:
Wearing sports uniform on non-sport days.
Wearing long sleeve tops under the sports or House polo tops.
Wearing summer uniform items instead of winter items (e.g. short-sleeved shirts being worn instead of long sleeves)
Wearing unapproved jewellery and accessories.
Wearing non-school sports pants or shorts without the school logo.
Wearing incorrect shoes.
Please take note of your child's timetable to ensure they wear the correct uniform on the right day. Wearing our school uniform correctly is compulsory for students. If you have any questions about our uniform and what is required, do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher to seek clarification
If for some reason your child is not in the correct uniform, we ask that you provide a note or message to your child's teacher We do understand that sometimes uniform items go missing or become damaged at times We ask that in these cases you seek to replace uniform items promptly through our uniform supplier Academy Uniforms. You can visit the website for further details: https://academyuniforms com au/ Don't forget, uniforms can be ordered online and delivered directly to the College for those families that are unable to visit Academy Uniforms in person.
Please ensure all uniform items, drink bottles and containers are clearly labelled with your child's name. We often have an overflowing collection of lost property that could more easily be returned if items were clearly named.
This week our Year 6 students travelled by tram to THE LUME for the Leonardo da Vinci Exhibition They are currently studying different scientists of note, investigating how scientific knowledge can be used by individuals and communities to identify problems, consider responses and make decisions. Our students had the opportunity to be inspired by Leonardo's work through this excursion
I would like to commend our students for the way they represented our school. A member of the public took the time to email the College, providing positive feedback about the respect that our students showed while travelling by tram Our students should be very proud of the way they represented our school so well.
We have lots happening in the weeks ahead, including Book Week next week and our School Musical a few weeks after that. It will be an exciting time for our students and I look forward to seeing our students take part.
God bless you and your family. Have a wonderful weekend.

Photo Challenge

“Little Treasures” is a nominated short-listed book about a young girl’s trip to the beach. She finds lots of seaweed and shells, but to her eyes they are little treasures She imagines them to be something small like a mermaid’s necklace or a big merchant ship sailed by penguins. Our challenge for those who choose to accept, is to create something out of things you might find outside This might be a boat made of sticks and grass, or it might be your own shell necklace. Take a photo of your creation and send it in to Miss Skerry Either via email or bring in a printed photo.

Concrete Garden
In the book “Concrete Garden”, a little girl who lives in an apartment building, goes outside with a box of chalk. She uses the chalk to decorate her street, and as she does, she invites all the other kids to join her Soon all the kids have drawn a great big garden on the street. When the adults look out of the windows of their apartments they can see the amazing drawings, that have lit up their grey street So why not be like the kids from this story, and brighten up our school yard together with chalk
Dance Party
In the book “Bear & Duck are friends”, Duck keeps inviting Bear to try new things, unfortunately they don’t always turn out good. This leads Bear to being scared and anxious to try new things One day Duck invites Bear to his Dance class. Bear tries to give it a go, and after failing, Duck tells him he is “thinking too hard,” and suggests that Bear closes his eyes and feel the music Bear does just that, and discovers that he can dance, & that trying new things doesn’t have to be scary So why not be like Duck, and invite a friend to our very own Dance Party
