A Consent2Go invitation will be sent to you in the coming days in order to give your child permission to take part in the offsite rehearsals and performances during that week We will also require photo permissions to be granted for this event, as the performance will be filmed. VICTORIAN PREMIERS’ READING CHALLENGE

Northside has read at least 3,867 books so far! Keep up the great work!

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN TERM 3 IN THE LIBRARY

Term 3, Week 6 is Book Week. This year the theme for book week is “Reading is Magic” and we have some amazing ideas for how to celebrate book week together

One way we all come together to celebrate is our yearly Book Week Parade. This is where everyone has the chance to dress up as their favourite book character or a character you think would be fun to dress up as Our dress-up day will be Friday 23rd August, so why not have a go at making your very own costume? We love to see what you can come up with.

Another way we always celebrate Book Week is the running of our yearly Book Fair. This year things will be run a little bit differently. The Fair will be held during Week 8, after Book Week, and is brought to us by Lamont Books. This will provide students with a different selection of books than those found in Scholastic Book Club

Term 3 also marks the conclusion of the Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge, so if your child is taking part, please make sure you have all books logged by Sunday, 1st September so that our Library staff can verify all books before the site closes.

Look out for more Library messages, as we get closer to these amazing events

*While Northside does not support or endorse the use of witchcraft or spells, the term ‘magic’ in this theme is making reference to ‘a quality that makes something seem special or exciting’ We hope that the use of this term does not detract from our celebration of reading.
