Welcome to 2025!

We hope you enjoyed family time together over the Summer holidays. We are all ready to welcome our 2025 students next week and are eagerly awaiting their arrival.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR 2025

PREPS: School starts on Tuesday 28th January at 8:40am for students in Prep only.

Please arrive from 8:15am so that we can take family photos outside the classroom before the bell goes at 8:40am Please come to your child’s classroom at 2:30pm to attend an information session.

Kindly send your Prep in their full and proper Summer uniform and ensure they have their school hat for Term 1. A timetable will be sent home on Tuesday so that you know which uniform to send your child in each day.

YEARS 1 - 6: School starts on Wednesday 29th January at 8:40am

Please refer to the SEQTA message sent to you by your child's classroom teacher in order to know which uniform your child needs to wear on their first day of school. Please ensure your child has their school hat for Term 1

PRIMARY CHAPEL

Friday 31st January, 2:15pm – 2:50pm

Parents are invited to join our Chapel session in Room 412, accessible through the foyer. Please sign in at Reception before attending.

Photos and videos of the students are not permitted at Chapel to protect the privacy of other students who may appear in the frame.

NORTHSIDE DEDICATION SERVICE

Friday 7th February

Due to limited seating, the Northside Dedication Service will only have students in attendance. Please note that the Prep students will not be in attendance.

The 2025 College Theme and 2025 student leaders will be announced in a video presentation on the Northside Facebook page.

*Student leaders with media restrictions will not appear on Facebook.

NEW FAMILIES WELCOME MORNING TEA

Friday 7th February, 8:40am - 9:30am

Parents who are new to Northside, you are invited to a Morning Tea in your honour!

Please sign in at Reception, then meet some members of the Parents and Friends Association in the Courtyard outside Reception)

DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURE

3:05pm All Worthy Warriors will need to be picked up from the Main Gate.

3:05pm All Noble Knights will need to be picked up from the Oval Carpark.

3:15pm All Courageous Conquerors will need to be picked up from the Oval Carpark.

Parents using the Drive-Through Drop-Off and Pick-Up Zones will need to remain in their vehicles for pick-up and drop-off. Students will be escorted to their vehicles by staff on Carpark duty.

Parents wanting to walk their children to the Oval gate in the mornings are welcome to park in the top gravel carpark, the main carpark, Norris Bank or the shopping centre.

*Please note there is limited car parking on site.

VOLUNTEER INDUCTION AND PARENT HELPER TRAINING

Northside Christian College is most grateful for the support of our parents and volunteers.

If you would like to build up your Parent Participation hours in 2025 by helping in the classroom, on excursions, around the school grounds, in the Mini Movers Program, or in any capacity, this training must be completed first.

Following the last Annual General Meeting for 2024, a new committee was elected for 2025.

PRIMARY SWIMMING

Term 1 Tuesdays: Years 3 - 6

Lessons for the Years 3 - 6 classes will be held on Tuesdays and will run for 6 weeks. The first lesson will commence on Tuesday 4th February and the last lesson will take place on Tuesday 11th March The swimming lessons will take place at Mill Park Leisure Centre.

Students will travel to their lessons by bus They will be picked up from Northside half an hour before their lesson begins. It is anticipated that students will arrive back at school half an hour after their lesson ends.

Your child will need to come to school wearing their bathers under their Sport uniform to maximise their lesson time. Please send a swimming bag with a towel, water bottle, thongs, goggles and fresh underwear.

Please look out for an email in your Inbox with the Consent2Go permission form.

Prep - Year 2 students will have their swimming lessons in Term 4.

ART SMOCKS

Please ensure your child has an art smock ready for the first week of school.

An effective art smock needs to be waterproof with long sleeves

An apron-style smock is not suitable.

The art smocks are not a uniform item and can be a unique colour or design so that your child can easily identify their own

All art smocks need to be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
