Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Year 6 students have had an unforgettable experience at camp in Canberra, where they explored key historical sites like the Australian War Memorial and Parliament House. They participated in hands-on learning activities that enhanced their understanding of Australian history, politics, and culture. It was a fantastic opportunity for personal growth, team building, and creating lasting memories with friends and teachers.
Next week we will be holding our whole school Orientation Day, where students will meet their teacher for the following year This will be held on Thursday 28th November On Tuesday 26th November, your child will bring home a letter to share with you their 2025 classroom teacher We have prayerfully considered the class allocations for students and staff We do ask that you have positive conversations with your child about their classmates and teacher
Transitions can be an unsettling time, however for most students, they settle in quickly and adapt to new environments. We appreciate the support and encouragement you provide to your children throughout this transition time. If you think your child may need extra support from us with this transition, please do not hesitate to let me know. Our Wellbeing Team can be involved in supporting your child through this time.
Some resources were shared with me earlier this week from our Wellbeing team which I think could be helpful for parents and carers in regards to managing screen time and devices, particularly as we draw closer to school holidays. I encourage you to take a look at them.

I recently reminded our students that the Bible shows us how we should live as Christians, linking this in with our school value of love. I encouraged our students to treat others well and to forgive one another, getting rid of bad behaviour.
In Ephesians 4:31-32 it says "Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behaviour. Instead, be kind to each other, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you."
Hebrews 10:24 says "Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works."
Continue to encourage and motivate your children to act in loving ways. We are often speaking with our students about what it means to live out our school values.
God bless you and have a wonderful weekend,
Chris Drowley Director of Primary School Learning
