ORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE WEEKLY PRIMARY NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, our Year 3 students attended camp, and I had the privilege of joining them. It was a fantastic experience, and I extend my gratitude to the staff for their dedication in supporting our students through various activities. During the Year 3 camp, we enjoyed a scenic coastal walk in Anglesea, including a hike that offered breathtaking views of the coastline It was a beautiful reminder of God's creation.
Our Year 5 students also had an enriching experience this week, visiting the Old Melbourne Gaol. They explored the history of the site, learned about the lives of past inmates and participated in activities that brought the past to life. This excursion provided a unique perspective on Australian history and engaged students in meaningful discussions about justice and society.
Additionally, our Year 4 students participated in an incursion focused on endangered species. They learned about various threatened animals and the importance of conservation efforts. Engaging with experts in the field and animals, the students discovered how they can contribute to protecting wildlife and preserving our planet’s biodiversity
Students in Years 2 - 6 also participated in annual progress testing this week, administered by Academic Assessment Services. These assessments are valuable in helping us tailor our learning programs to meet each student’s needs. If you have any questions about the testing, please feel free to reach out for more information
Our swimming program for Prep - Year 2 students continues this week. Please ensure your children arrive at school on time, as we have a tight bus schedule for transport to and from the pool.
May God bless you and your family.
