with great determination and resilience well done! Students across Years 7 to 9 took part in an engaging Maths incursion, bringing maths to life in fun and meaningful ways. We were also thrilled to welcome Pastor Taylor Forward from Dare2Drift, whose visit inspired and energised our community

Reports were released through SEQTA at the end of the term and provide a valuable starting point for meaningful discussions with your child’s teachers during next week’s Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences (PSTCs) We encourage all parents and students to take this opportunity to review progress and set goals for the new semester ahead.

Semester 1 was a time of new experiences, growth, learning, and community spirit

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to making this semester a positive and memorable one We look forward to a fantastic Semester 2, filled with new opportunities and continued growth

Colossians 3:23–24

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Welcome to Term 3

A few reminders to help our Middle School community begin the second half of the year strong:

Homework

Students who do not have set homework are encouraged to read at home to keep their minds active and build skills that support learning across all subjects

Uniform

As we settle into winter, all students are expected to wear the full winter uniform

Congratulations to 7TW for winning the Best Dressed Middle School Homegroup award! Their efforts will soon be celebrated with a pizza party.

Parents, please support your child in making positive choices and ensure they wear the correct uniform each day. This includes blazers, ties, and leather school shoes (no runners unless wearing the sports uniform) Hair that is shoulder-length or longer, or hanging in the face, must be tied back Only one set of earrings and minimal jewellery are permitted

Wearing the correct uniform is more than just a school policy it fosters pride, belonging, and personal responsibility. It also creates an environment where students can focus on learning and growing together.

Following last semester’s focus on correct uniform, detentions will be issued this term for breaches, and parents will be contacted If your child needs time to replace items that are outgrown or damaged, please email the relevant homeroom teacher with a date by which this will be resolved.

Techie-Free Term 3

Term 3 is a Techie-Free time at recess and lunch Students who want to stay out of the cold are welcome in the Middle School foyer, where they can sit, chat, or play board and card games without devices

On Wednesdays, the library is open for Homework Club, available to students needing extra time or support.

Celebrating an Achievement Aerynn

We’re excited to celebrate the incredible achievements of Aerynn (8SC), who recently won four medals at the 2025 Youth National Archery Championships, including two golds, and broke a Victorian state record at the Target Championships Aerynn has now been selected to represent Australia at the upcoming Trans Tasman Challenge in New Zealand.

It’s wonderful to see our students using their God-given talents and excelling beyond the classroom Congratulations, Aerynn!

Discovery Subjects

Looking ahead, Years 7–9 will begin exciting new elective blocks and discovery subjects Friday 1st August is the final day for subject changes

Some students may find themselves placed in subjects outside their usual area of confidence. We encourage them to embrace these opportunities, persevere, and develop new skills These experiences are just as valuable for personal growth

Our Book Week celebrations promise to be a highlight of the term, with fun and creativity on display across the College

Year 9 students will embark on their Urban Endeavour project, Bridges of Hope, followed later in the term by their Tasmanian experience, Journey Within Deepening Our Faith, Discovering Our Story

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Thursday 11th September, for our very first Arts Festival, Connected to the Son a joyous celebration of creation and creativity at Northside.
