A MESSAGE FROM MR CHRIS DROWLEY

This week I had the pleasure of attending Mill Valley Ranch Camp with our Year 4 students, and what a fantastic experience it was!

We were incredibly blessed with the weather. While the forecast hinted at rain, it held off just long enough to give us the perfect conditions to enjoy everything the camp had to offer. The students embraced every moment with energy, curiosity and courage

From horse riding, to the thrill of crate stacking, and the peaceful challenge of canoeing, each activity gave students the chance to push boundaries, build resilience, and support one another. Some sharp shooters excelled during archery and we saw some excellent coordination and balance on the low ropes. It was wonderful to see the confidence of our students grow as they tried new things and stepped out of their comfort zones

Spending time with the Year 4 students at camp was a reminder of the importance of outdoor learning and shared experiences. The encouragement between peers, and the pride on our students’ faces after achieving something new, it was truly memorable.

Thank you to the staff who supported the camp, and to our Year 4 students for making it such a rewarding and joyful few days.

This past Wednesday morning, our College came together to celebrate First Responders Day. We welcomed some special guests from local Emergency Services and honoured the brave individuals who dedicate their lives to keeping our community safe and supported

The College grounds were filled with the delicious aroma of sizzling sausages and the cheerful chatter of students, staff, and families. The event was a wonderful opportunity for our College community to gather in support of an important cause.

In the spirit of appreciation, students arrived dressed as first responders or wore blue, an emblematic colour representing trust, care, and service It was heartwarming to see our students proudly wearing police uniforms, firefighter gear, paramedic outfits, and more, showing just how much they admire and respect these everyday heroes.

Thanks to the generous contributions of families and supporters, we successfully raised $370 in funds that will go toward blessing local first responders

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success, from our amazing volunteers and staff to our enthusiastic students and supportive families Let’s continue to appreciate the he all year round

A short week for our students, but partnership with us.

God bless you,

BOOK WEEK AND COSTUME SELECTION

Friday 22nd August 2025

As we look forward to celebrating Book Week together, we are excited about the opportunity to encourage a love of reading and creativity across our school community This is a special time where students can bring their favourite characters and stories to life through costume and imagination

This year’s theme is Book an Adventure, and we encourage students to explore books that inspire courage, curiosity, and character-building journeys. As we prepare for this fun and meaningful event, we would like to remind families of a few important guidelines to ensure that our celebration reflects the values of our Christian ethos:

Costumes should be positive, respectful, and in keeping with our Christian Values. We ask that students choose characters who embody traits such as kindness, bravery, honesty, and compassion.

Please avoid costumes that are scary or inappropriate, including witches (good or bad), wizards (good or bad), demons, vampires, zombies, or any that involve blood, gore, or horror themes These can be upsetting to our younger students and are not in line with our school values

Weapons of any kind, such as swords, guns, or other imitation weapons, are not permitted.

Students should be dressed modestly and appropriately, with costumes that allow for safe play and participation throughout the school day. Closed-toe footwear is required

Children who come dressed in costumes that do not align with these guidelines may be asked to change into their school uniform (parents may be contacted if there is no change of clothes available).

We strongly encourage creative, home-made costumes that reflect beloved characters from books and stories If you are unsure whether a costume is appropriate, please speak with your child’s Home Group Teacher ahead of time

Thank you for your continued support in making Book Week a joyful, inclusive, and values-aligned event for all students. We look forward to seeing the wonderful ways our students bring books to life through their costumes and imaginations!
