A MESSAGE FROM MR CHRIS DROWLEY

This week our students in Years 3 - 6 enjoyed participating in our annual Athletics Carnival We are grateful to God for the beautiful weather that we were able to enjoy on the day Many parents assisted, for which we are extremely thankful. It was also a pleasure to welcome family and friends who came to cheer on the students. Many records were broken in a range of events! Our students showed our College values of Community, Grace, Perseverance and Humility. This was displayed in their efforts, celebrating the success of others, as well as in winning gracefully

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the PE Department who put in lots of work to make these events successful, as well as all the other staff members who supported the day This is part of what makes Northside such an incredible place! Later in the year, our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students will participate in the P-2 Athletics Carnival.

This week our school celebrated National Careers week. This provided our students with the opportunity to explore a range of possibilities around what they might like to do in their future It is helpful to identify the strengths and passions of our students and encourage them to find ways to incorporate these interests into future plans!

Our heart at Northside Christian College is encompassed by our vision to be an inspirational Christian learning community. Our mission, “Transforming lives through Christ and the wonder of learning”, sums up our commitment to making a difference in this world We aim to nurture and develop the unique talent, gifting, and interests of students so that they can be all that God has called them to be both now and into the future.

I’II pray the weekend is a restful one for you and your family. May God's blessing and protection continue to go with you

God bless you and your family,

STAY HOME IF UNWELL

As flu season approaches, a reminder that unwell children must remain at home until recovered or when required, cleared by a GP. Students sent to school unwell, will be sent to sick bay and parents, carers or emergency contacts will be called to pick up the unwell student so that they can receive the appropriate healthcare, outside the First Aid scope of the College.

Thank you for supporting the College and ensuring that we provide a safe and healthy learning environment.

Northside Christian College: Ongoing Commitment to Child Safety and Cultural Inclusion.

Northside Christian College continues to strengthen and uphold its commitment to child safety and student wellbeing by maintaining policies and practices that reflect the Victorian Child Safe Standards. These Standards remain central to our ongoing efforts to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.

The College recognises the importance of fostering a culture that values diversity and promotes equity. Our approach continues to reflect key principles within the Child Safe Standards We are committed to supporting and responding to the needs of vulnerable students in our school communities

As a Christian school, our commitment to inclusion is grounded in our faith. Romans 15:7 reminds us to “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” This message inspires our ongoing work to ensure every student at Northside feels safe, respected, and valued

The strength of our diverse College community continues to be a defining feature of Northside. Our key policies, such as the Student Code of Conduct, Behaviour Management Policy (Policy No. 36), and Pastoral Care Policy (Policy No. 12), demonstrate our dedication to providing an environment where every student can thrive physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually Our Cultural Safety Policy (Policy No 74) celebrates and affirms the cultural richness within our school, including the heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At Northside, we remain steadfast in our mission to support the wellbeing of every student and to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment that reflects our Christian values and vision to see our students and community flourish

We welcome any feedback, questions or concerns from our community in relation to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all of our students. Please contact the College on 9467 2499 if you have any queries.
