Police department marks 75th anniversary By Lauren Takores The Citizen
The North Haven Police Department is marking its 75th anniversary this year and involving the community in the commemoration. NHPD was formed in 1942 and recognized by the state legislature on March 8, 1943,

Pfizer is entering the last phase of active environmental remediation construction that began in 2012 at the Pharmacia & Upjohn Company site in North Haven.

The pharmaceutical giant acquired Pharmacia Corporation in 2003, including the 78-acre former Upjohn Company site, located at 41 Stiles Lane, which is contaminated from more than a century of heavy industrial use. On Monday, the Planning and Zoning Commission ap-
proved a permit that will allow Pharmacia & Upjohn, a subsidiary of Pfizer, to install engineered protective covers on the west side of the property. The commission held a public hearing on the site plan with representatives from Pfizer and Golder Associates, an engineering consulting firm, along with attorney John Parese. The site was an industrial property for decades, manufacturing products including bricks and various chemicals until 1993.
