Hey there fabulous people of Dallas – Fort Worth!

Ah, September! There’s a whiff of pumpkin spice in the air, leaves are flirting with the idea of changing colors, and, for some absurd reason, I still get a tiny pang of “I should be buying school supplies” even though it’s been a good minute since I’ve been in a classroom. Blame it on the Minnesotan roots; we take our fall vibes very seriously.

Speaking of Minnesota, it’s a lot cooler there (and I don’t just mean the temperature). As a Minnesotan turned Texan, I often find myself comparing the two. What I’ve come to realize is that whether it’s the brisk north or the warm heart of Texas, it’s all about the people and the passion they bring to the table. And that’s why this magazine exists. To celebrate the movers and shakers, the go-getters and over-achievers of the Dallas real estate scene. If Texas is the heart of America, y’all are its steady, vibrant pulse.

But, back to September – our little prelude to the grand finale of the year. Kids are hopping back to school, eager (or not so eager) to dive into a new academic year. And, as for us? It’s the perfect time to pull out those goals we scribbled down in January. Remember those? Dust them

off and give them a good stare-down. With Q4 peeking around the corner, now’s the moment to regroup, refocus, and rally to end this year on a note so high… even the Dallas skyline will look up to it.

I always believe there’s something magical about the start of fall. Maybe it’s the promise of cooler days, or perhaps it’s due to the fact that the ESPE Awards are just around the corner (updates and information on that coming soon)! But if I’ve learned one thing from my journey from the Land of 10,000 Lakes to the Lone Star State, it’s that any season can be a season of new beginnings.

So, to the REAL-producing agents and the incredible businesses that support them: Let’s own this season. Let’s hustle like we’ve never hustled before, let’s celebrate each other’s successes, and let’s set the stage for a spectacular finish to 2023.

Cheers to refocusing, reenergizing, and relishing in what lies ahead.

REDEFINING REAL ESTATE

Amir Girgis, a 27-year-old REALTOR® and entrepreneur, is making waves in the real estate industry by providing clients with a transformative experience. Born in Egypt and raised in Kuwait, Amir’s journey to becoming a REALTOR® has been shaped by his passion for buildings, his drive to make a difference, and his unwavering dedication to his clients.

Amir’s career in real estate began as a flipper, partnering with friends to renovate and sell properties. During these transactions, he noticed a lack of care and compassion from the agents involved, along with a dearth of accessible information for buyers and sellers. Motivated to create a better experience, Amir pursued his real estate license while completing his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, specializing in land development from UT Arlington.

“Buying and selling a house for most people can be seen as an unpleasant and stressful experience. I want to change that,” says Amir. “I strongly believe that the home buying process should be a pleasant and educational journey, rather than a source of stress. My passion lies in educating my clients about every detail of the process, ensuring they feel confident and informed every step of the way.”

Amir’s commitment to education and care is evident in his approach to each client. He goes above and beyond to ensure that his clients understand the intricacies of buying or selling a home. “I believe educating people is the key to successful transactions and long-lasting relationships,” he explains. “I want my clients to feel empowered and knowledgeable, so they can make informed decisions that align with their goals and dreams.”

Through his dedication to providing a positive experience, Amir has witnessed the impact he can make on his clients’ lives. “The most rewarding part of my business is seeing the joy and smiles on the faces of families who never thought they could be homeowners,” Amir shares. “To be part of such a major life event, where dreams become realities, is an honor that I do not take lightly.”

he was named the second-highest producer in the DFW chapter of his brokerage, and he continues to achieve remarkable success year after year. His passion for real estate extends beyond his own business, as he plans to start a team called Habibi Realty Group with his partner, Sandra Girgis, with a focus on educating and training REALTORS® who share their care, compassion, and education-driven approach.

“I want to revolutionize the real estate world,” says Amir. “We aim to educate young people about the power of investing, buying, and selling. By imparting knowledge and building lasting relationships, we hope to create positive change within the industry.”

Outside of his real estate endeavors, Amir is an avid investor in his own properties, from flips to rental properties and Airbnb. He

enjoys traveling, playing soccer with friends, and indulging in the occasional Hookah session. Amir’s multifaceted interests and dedication to personal and professional growth exemplify his drive to live a fulfilling and balanced life.

Looking ahead, Amir’s goals for the future are clear: to continue helping more families achieve their homeownership dreams and surpass his previous achievements year after year. His ultimate desire is to be remembered for his care, dedication, and for making the impossible possible. His goal is to always do better than he did the year before, and this year, that included finally starting his own team, Habibi Realty Group, with his partner.

“My partner, Sandra Girgis, is my backbone,” says Amir. “She’s one of the reasons I’m where I am now. She supports and pushes me to be better every day, and when I’m in a pickle, she picks up her laptop to help write offers or run comps or show homes or negotiate for our clients. I’m blessed to have her. I’m excited to start our team, Habibi Realty Group, together.”

As a young business owner, Amir serves as an inspiration to others who aspire to carve their own paths in the real estate industry. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence, he proves that age is no barrier to success.

Becoming a Household Name OriginPoint

Founded in 2021, OriginPoint is quickly becoming a household name in the lending space. OriginPoint is a joint venture between two of the most prominent names in real estate — Compass and Guaranteed Rate.

“Robert Reffkin, the CEO of Compass, had a major hand in developing our company to be able to provide the best mortgage experience to our main referral partners — REALTORS®,” SVP of Mortgage Lending/Branch Manager Drew Brenner explains.

“While we may be a joint venture with Compass, because we are a REALTORS®-focused company, we have the ability to give all of our referral partners everything they need in a mortgage lender.”

Drew and his team, including VP of Mortgage Lending Brandi O’Donald, have set out to provide the top mortgage lending experience in North Texas. We sat down with Drew Brenner and Brandi O’Donald to hear their stories and why they believe OriginPoint is the next big name in lending.

Meet the Team: Drew Brenner

Drew Brenner was first introduced to the mortgage lending world as a child. His dad owned a successful mortgage company in Edmond, Oklahoma, and Drew grew up with mortgage lending as a central part of his life.

“I helped him with various marketing efforts growing up and heard many stories of the trials, tribulations, and successes of helping people finance their dream homes,” Drew explains.

As he got older, Drew pursued a career in industrial engineering. But after earning his college degree, he decided to instead follow in his father’s footsteps. He began his mortgage lending career in 2008 — one of the most difficult times in the industry in recent memory. As Drew offers, “Trial by fire helps build strength.”

“My father’s business, though small, was one of the few that didn’t have to close its doors during that difficult time, and that is because he knew how to do business the right way. I was lucky to be able to learn from the best from the beginning. His knowledge, combined with the strong problem-solving and project management skills I learned in engineering, is what has taken me to be a top producer in every company I’ve worked for over the last ten years.”

Today, Drew is an SVP of Mortgage Lending/ Branch Manager at OriginPoint. He is proud to run his business with a personal touch, seeking to help REALTORS® become top producers and clients achieve their homeownership dreams.

“Mortgages are more than just a job; they’re a passion. I do not see myself as a vendor. I see myself as a critical part of the home buying experience, and I want to be your lender for life,” Drew says.

Outside work, you’ll find Drew hanging out with his wife and their fur babies. They enjoy trying new restaurants, vacationing, and spending time on their land in east Texas, where they camp or stay with Drew’s in-laws for a relaxing weekend in the country.

Meet the Team: Brandi O’Donald Brandi O’Donald was born in Fort Worth, spent her teen and early adult years in Arkansas, and eventually returned home to Texas. She was raised by her Nana, who she refers to as her hero.

“She is long gone, almost 18 years now. She was the only constant source of support I’ve ever had until my husband, Chris. My Nana taught me how to cook, clean, be honest, and, most importantly, she taught me pride in work was true success,” Brandi reflects.

Soon after high school, Brandi caught a break while waiting tables at a restaurant. One of her regulars was the President of a local bank. He noticed Brandi’s ability to connect and communicate and soon offered her a job. At the bank, she moved up from teller to head teller to vault teller to the President’s assistant.

“It was amazing,” Brandi beams. “I learned all about appraisals, interest rates, personal loans, and installment loans, and it was just so much fun. Lending truly became a passion – so much so that within one year of becoming the President’s assistant, I became the Assistant Vice President of the bank and was then promoted to mortgage loans.”

Brandi fell in love with serving clients through lending in small-town Arkansas. But life soon brought her back

to Texas, where she balanced life as a single mom. She returned to waiting tables and doing odd jobs so she could be available for her children during the day, but her passion for lending never died. Eventually, she returned to the business she has always loved as a loan officer.

“I have grit,” Brandi says proudly. “The kind of grit that comes from lots of disappointments. I am the definition of the underdog who does good things with the opportunities I’ve been given. Nothing has ever been given to me other than chances, and with those chances, I took risks to succeed, and thankfully, the Lord has blessed me with perseverance to overcome.”

Outside work, you’ll find Brandi spending time with her four children, hanging out with friends, and attending church. More than anything, she wants to be remembered for her love for God.

“[I have] pure gratitude for my life. A REALTOR® who trusts me and allows me to work with their buyers is very special to me. I started out not even being able to rent my own place to now being in this magazine…I can’t help but cry tears of gratitude.”

“We were from a very rural area in Michigan, but she was very successful there,” Stephanie recalls. “Seeing her grow her business through her connections in the community and the care she showed when working with people — that inspired me.”

Stephanie spent a total of 15 years teaching elementary school in Michigan. She got her real estate license in Michigan, but her move into real estate didn’t come to fruition until she headed south.

MOVING SOUTH

Stephanie’s husband’s job brought her family to Texas in early 2013. Her move, however, came with some major hurdles. Just weeks before she headed to Texas with her family, she was diagnosed with cancer.

“The June before we moved, I had a lump removed. The doctor said it was all good, no big deal, a fatty tumor. Right before we moved, I found another one. I went to the doctor on December 20, 2012. I had two more days left at school and a week and a half before we left for Texas. He said he’d take the lump out, no big deal, and told me to come back after Christmas, and we’d go over the results. I soon found out it was cancer.”

Stephanie’s first few months in Texas were filled with chemotherapy, radiation, and a double mastectomy. As she healed, her career aspirations found their way to the back burner.

Thankfully, Stephanie overcame her battle with cancer. She eventually took on some part-time teaching roles but did not end up with a full time position at the end of the year.

“That affirmed something I already knew; I was ready for a change,” she offers.

While working as a teacher in her home state of Michigan, Stephanie Browne began taking an interest in real estate.
Stephanie’s mother-in-law, a successful REALTOR®, inspired her with her community connections and by the positive impact she was able to make in the lives of so many others.

Stephanie went into the Southlake Keller Williams office for an informational evening and was inspired to make a career change. During that event, she made the decision — she was going to be a full-time REALTOR®. She was licensed in Texas in mid-2014.

“Shortly after joining KW Southlake, I began working with Will Woods, whose mentorship shaped the agent I would become. I then continued with him when Magnolia Realty was opened in April 2017… I learned a lot about myself during this time,” Stephanie offers. “I learned I’m a lot stronger than I thought.”

GROWING AND THRIVING

Over the past nine years, Stephanie’s business has evolved into one of Texas’ best. Now with Magnolia Realty, she closed 39 transactions for $29.2 million in 2022. She also leads a small team of five agents.

Although she’s left her career as an elementary school teacher in the rearview mirror, Stephanie continues to leverage the same skills and capacities that made her a great teacher. She loves learning and educating. She expresses deep care for her clients.

“When things don’t go the way we want them to, I take that to heart. I care about my clients. I care about the outcome. I care about them having the best possible experience when going through this.”

Carrie Vines, a seasoned real estate agent and broker at Keller Williams Realty Dallas DFW Southlake, has enjoyed a successful career spanning 18 years. Her journey into real estate began shortly after college when her father, a real estate broker himself, suggested she obtain her license. What began as a job to get Carrie started in her adult life has transformed into a lasting and fulfilling career.

Right at Home

Growing up, Carrie was exposed to the industry through her father’s work as a real estate investor. She had the opportunity to witness firsthand the joys and challenges of property ownership.

“I remember my dad was always home and worked from home. I really enjoyed the flexibility he had. Sometimes he would take me to his properties, too,” Carrie reflects. “I was excited about the flexibility of it and working for myself. I was a waiter and bartender through college, and I hated missing things because I had to work, not being able to travel as much as I wanted. Real estate offered the freedom I desired.”

Unlike many new agents, Carrie found ease in building a business. She was a self-starter with a natural affinity for relationship building — two qualities that served her well as she got her business off the ground.

“It came easy to me,” she continues. “I’ve always been a people person, I’m a local, and I have a large friend group.”

Nearly two decades later, Carrie is still thriving in the business. She averages $6-12 million in yearly closed volume.

Serving Her Network

Carrie has developed a niche serving her sphere of influence. She works entirely on referrals, preferring to work with friends and family rather than marketing to the broader public. This strategy has been a success for her, as she’s built a reputation for trust and expertise in her inner circle.

Carrie is a proud Texan with a rich family history in the state dating back centuries. Not only is she a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, an association dedicated to perpetuating the memory of the founding families and soldiers of the Republic of Texas, Carrie’s family roots in the state date back to before the Texas Revolution. She has ancestors who were part of the Old Three Hundred, fought in the Texas Revolution (the battle of Concepción and the battle of Gonzales), and have been in Texas since.

“We even have a family spear that’s on display at The Alamo. There’s a story that my ancestor was fighting against the Mexican soldiers in 1842, and most people on the Texas side died. My ancestor hid in the brush, and he was lying there. One of the Mexican soldiers came by on his horse looking for him. My ancestor grabbed his spear, killed the other guy, and took off on his horse. That spear is at The Alamo.”

“What I really love about this business is being able to make sure my friends and family are well taken care of when they buy or sell a house. I really like to make sure they get every dollar they can and that they don’t get left out to dry,” she explains.

Carrie has also developed a reputation as a real estate investor. She began investing during the economic downturn of 2008, kickstarting her journey and allowing her to offer valuable insights for her clients. Her clients appreciate her approachability, quick responses, and ability to provide guidance on residential and investment purchases.

Family First

Family is paramount to Carrie. She and her husband, Matt, met in high school, attended The University of Texas at Arlington together, and have been married for 18 years. They have three children: twins Ethan and Kinsey (14)

and Jackson (12). As a family, they enjoy spending time on their boat at Lake Grapevine, relaxing at the family ranch, or embarking on adventurous trips. They love traveling, planning yearly ski trips with other families, or exploring scenic destinations for hiking, biking, and fishing. Recently, they had the opportunity to visit Hawaii.

Carrie’s legacy centers on being a kind and positive force in the lives of others. She aims to be known as someone who always speaks well of everyone and embodies a spirit of kindness. As her children grow, Carrie’s focus remains on their development, ensuring they become hardworking, respectable adults. She hopes that one day, her children will express an interest in real estate, allowing real estate to become a three-generation family business.

“More than anything, I want to be known for being a kind person to everyone I meet,” Carrie closes.

Real Producers magazine started in Indianapolis in 2015 and is now in over 100 markets across the nation and continues to spread rapidly. Real Producers first launched in DFW in August 2018 with North DFW Real Producers (now called “North Dallas”). A: The top 500 real estate agents in each of the four markets in DFW based on their MLS production for the previous year. Refer to the map in this publication for the exact territories. If your broker address is within that given territory and you are in the top 500, you will receive that publication for the year. There are approximately 60,000 licensed real estate agents in DFW. The list will reset at the end of every year and continue to update annually.

Q: WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THIS MAGAZINE?

A: We believe that we are better together. When we surround ourselves with other successful, like-minded people, we grow to new heights. Real Producers is a platform that brings together the most elite individuals in DFW real estate.

We take the top 500 real estate agents and RP-vetted businesses in every market, and we build an exclusive community around that group. We share their stories, successes, market trends, and upcoming events — really, anything that will connect, inform and inspire, we put in our monthly publication.

Q: DOES REAL PRODUCERS HAVE EVENTS?

A: Yes! Each community will have two main events a year, and then we do a combined event at the end of the year, which is an awards gala called The ESPEs. For these events, we invite the top 500 real estate agents and our RP-vetted businesses. Top 500 agents are allowed to invite members of their team as well. These

events are an incredible opportunity to connect with the best of the best in DFW real estate. It is amazing to see the power in the connections made at these events. Be on the lookout for your exclusive invites!

Q: WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BEING FEATURED IN THIS MAGAZINE?

A: It’s really simple. You have to be on the top 500 list, and we take nominations seriously. You can nominate other real estate agents, businesses, brokers, owners or even yourself! Office leaders can also nominate real estate agents. We will consider anyone brought to our attention who is in the top 500 because we don’t know everyone’s story, so we need your help to learn about them. Fueling the Fire of Success

Melissa Sanches was born and raised in Longview, Texas to a family with humble means. As Melissa’s mom balanced the difficulties of raising a family as a single mother, she was forced to bounce her family between less-thanideal housing situations. They lived in Section 8 housing, with family members, and even spent short periods without a home at all.

“My upbringing was tough,” Melissa recalls. “There were days I didn’t know if we had somewhere to live. My mom struggled with her mental health and financial issues, so I often had to take over for me and my younger sister. My dad, unfortunately, wasn’t supportive at all and was found shot when I was 13.”

While growing up in such a challenging situation could have set Melissa on a similar path of hardship in her adult life, she’s found a way to use her childhood difficulties as fuel for the fire of success. She became the first in her family to graduate from college and became determined to change the trajectory of her life.

“It put a lot of drive and determination in me. I saw what I did not want for my future and my future family. I didn’t know it at the time, but looking back, it also instilled an entrepreneurial spirit in me. At nine years old, I was selling candy and snacks on the bus. In our Section 8 apartments, I set up a little store in the building to make extra money. I was always driven,” Melissa explains. “I was able to take the struggle and create something positive from it.”

Melissa’s life began to turn around during her college years. She was lucky enough to have teachers and mentors who believed in her, guiding her to change her life for the better. She joined TRIO (a program targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities progress academically), was part of the honors program, and became a RA on campus.

“For me, that’s when everything changed. I started to see a way to move forward. I saw that there is more to life and that education was a great way to break the cycle of poverty.”

FINDING REAL ESTATE SUCCESS

Melissa bought a home in Denton while in college at the University of North Texas, where she graduated with honors. As she planned to begin a PhD program, she faced a life changing choice. She could remain on her current educational path or go on bed rest to carry her baby, Preciosa Esperanza (meaning “Precious Hope”) to full term.

While on bed rest during her pregnancy in 2008, she decided to launch her real estate career, following in the footsteps of REALTOR®, Phyllis Wolper, who helped her buy her first home.

“My mentors helped provide a firm foundation, first as an assistant to Miogene Alexander, and as a buyer’s agent to Phyllis Wolper,” Melissa recalls.

Melissa went out on her own in 2012 and steadily climbed the ranks to become one of Fort Worth’s top agents.

Today, Melissa remains an individual agent with Century 21 Judge Fite. She works in both the North Texas and East Texas markets. In 2022, she closed over $18 million.

As an agent, Melissa continues to draw on her past experience to benefit her clients.

“My history affects how I treat my clients when helping them find a home. It means a lot more to me than just completing a transaction,” she says. “I take my slogan ‘Quality Service from the Heart’ seriously. I treat my clients like they are family. It doesn’t feel like a transaction but a personal relationship. I care. I go the extra mile.”
