CYNTHIA A. GUEL
Balancing Family and Real Estate
Cynthia A. Guel’s journey into real estate is more than a career choice; it’s a story of dedication, family support, and an unyielding passion for helping others find their perfect home. A REALTOR® with CENTURY 21 Judge Fite Co in Dallas, Cynthia has carved a niche for herself in a competitive market by combining her commitment to family and business with an innate enthusiasm for real estate.
A Foundation Built on Family
Cynthia was born in McKinney, Texas, and raised in Dallas, where she enjoyed a close-knit community surrounded by family and friends. Reflecting on her upbringing, Cynthia shares, “Growing up, I was heavily involved in sports and extracurricular activities, which helped me develop a strong sense of discipline and teamwork.” This foundation laid the groundwork for her future endeavors, both as a dedicated mother and a professional.
For ten years, Cynthia was a stay-at-home mom, raising her four children and managing a busy household. Her transition into real estate began with the encouragement of her husband, a local home builder with nearly 20 years of experience. “My husband always saw potential in me to excel as a REALTOR®,” Cynthia recalls. “Once our youngest started kindergarten in 2022, I decided to get my real estate license.”
From Medical Coordination to Real Estate
Before embarking on her real estate career, Cynthia gained invaluable experience working as a health unit coordinator in the emergency department at Children’s Medical Center. This role honed her organizational skills and instilled a deep sense of compassion—qualities that seamlessly transitioned into her new career. Cynthia also worked as a project administrator

A Passion for Real Estate
Cynthia’s passion for real estate shines through in her dedication to helping clients achieve their dreams. She is particularly enthusiastic about showcasing and selling new builds crafted by her husband and son. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to see a project come to life from the ground up and then help families find their perfect home in these beautifully crafted properties,” she explains. clients. This collaborative effort not only strengthens their family bonds but also enhances the quality of service they provide.
Challenges and Triumphs
Like many working parents, Cynthia faces the challenge of balancing work and home life. With her children’s busy schedules, careful time management is crucial. “Ensuring that I am present for my family while maintaining a high level of service for my clients requires dedication,” she admits. Additionally, navigating a fast-paced real estate market adds another layer of complexity to her role.
Despite these challenges, Cynthia finds immense satisfaction in her work. Her favorite part of being a REALTOR® is strategizing to highlight each property’s unique features and negotiating top offers for her clients. “It’s incredibly rewarding to help them navigate the selling process smoothly and achieve their desired outcomes,” she says.

NANCY WI LSON
Though the number of agents in the metroplex are many, few names resonate with the kind of deep-rooted loyalty and steadfast commitment as that of Nancy Wilson. As a real estate advisor and team leader for The Live Local Group at Coldwell Banker Realty, Nancy’s career spans nearly three decades, filled with a blend of professional accomplishments and heartfelt community service.
Born in Mobile, Alabama, Nancy’s early life was a tapestry of southern roots and frequent relocations, a result of her father’s career as a football coach. “I was a bit of a nomad,” Nancy recalls, her voice tinged with nostalgia. Moving from Mobile to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and eventually to Dallas, Texas, Nancy’s childhood was marked by family gatherings, fishing trips, and spending time at the beach visiting grandparents on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Despite the constant moves, the sense of community remained a cornerstone of her upbringing, a value that she would carry into her professional life.
Nancy’s educational journey took her to Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, where she joined the dance team, the Strutters, and pledged Chi Omega. Balancing multiple jobs to support herself through college, Nancy’s resilience shone brightly. “I sold vacuum cleaners door to door, taught aerobics, and even worked as a repo girl for Ford Motor Credit,” she laughs. These experiences, though challenging, forged a work ethic that would become the bedrock of her real estate career.
After graduating with a degree in finance and economics, Nancy’s path led her to Dallas, where she initially worked as a controller and later as an appraiser for the Dallas Central Appraisal District. It was here that she discovered her passion for real estate. “Working for a governmental agency was eye-opening, but measuring houses and understanding property values was my cup of tea,” she explains. This passion culminated in her obtaining a real estate license in 1994 and starting her journey with Whiteside Associates under the mentorship of John Whiteside. “John was known as ‘the smartest man in real estate.’ He taught me everything I know, and when he told me I was too busy selling real estate to be his assistant anymore, it was a blessing.”
Nancy’s dedication to her clients and community is evident in every facet of her work. “I’ve always been passionate about treating my clients like family and looking out for their best interests,” she emphasizes. This commitment extends beyond transactions, manifesting in lifelong relationships and a deep-seated loyalty to her company, now Coldwell Banker Realty, which acquired Whiteside in the 2000s.
However, Nancy’s influence stretches far beyond the realm of real estate. Her involvement in community service is both extensive and impactful. Early on, she volunteered with the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA, eventually spearheading the auction for the Lakewood Home Tour. “I realized that what we were doing as moms and volunteers was raising money to change the lives of others in our public schools,” she reflects. This realization sparked a lifelong commitment to supporting DISD public schools, leading to initiatives like the Woodrow Community Peace Pantry, which provides food and necessities to students and faculty across 19 schools in the district. “Hunger doesn’t wait for paperwork. We cut all the red tape and fed our community,” she says with pride.
SUCCESS IS BEING HAPPY WITH YOURSELF, LOVED BY YOUR FAMILY, AND BEING PART OF A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY,
Balancing her roles as a mother, wife, REALTOR®, and community volunteer has been Nancy’s greatest challenge. “Wearing multiple hats and being good at all of them at the same time is tough,” she admits. Despite the demanding schedule, her dedication to each role remains unwavering. This dedication has not gone unnoticed; she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year for District 9 by her city council person, Gary Griffith, for her work with Lakewood Crime Watch, an initiative that significantly reduced crime in her neighborhood and inspired similar efforts across Dallas.
Nancy’s family is her anchor. Married for 29 years to an accomplished attorney, they have three children: Parker, a doctor; Cat, a licensed therapist; and Hannah, an aspiring physician assistant. “I’m pretty lucky, and I love my family,” she beams. This love extends to their three dogs and a cat, completing their lively household.
Despite her numerous accolades, Nancy remains humble. “Success is being happy with yourself, loved by your family, and being part of a sup portive community,” she defines. Her advice to upcoming REALTORS® is simple yet profound: “Surround yourself with people who make you feel good, find ways to give back to your community, and never stop learning.”
In a world where real estate can often feel transactional, Nancy Wilson stands out as a model of loyalty and community spirit. Her story demonstrates the power of dedication, both to one’s profession and to the community at large. As she continues to grow her team and make a difference, one thing is clear: Nancy Wilson’s legacy is built not just on the homes she helps buy and sell, but on the lives she touches along the way.

Laura E. Friend, a REALTOR® with Century 21 Judge Fite, embodies the belief that it’s never too late to embark on a new path. With nearly three years in real estate, Laura’s journey from Mexico to becoming a trusted real estate agent in Dallas, Texas, is a story of resilience and an unwavering commitment to her clients.
Laura’s story begins in Monterrey, Mexico, where she was born and spent her early years. At the age of 13, she moved to Arizona, a significant transition that laid the foundation for her adaptability and strength. After completing her schooling in Arizona, Laura married and moved to Oregon, where her husband served in the USMC. “We moved to wherever he was assigned,” she recalls, reflecting on the nomadic lifestyle that would later prepare her for the dynamic world of real estate.
Before entering the real estate industry, Laura had an eclectic career. She ran her own electricity sales company in DFW and worked in payroll for the school district in Oregon. However, it wasn’t until 2021 that Laura decided to pursue a career in real estate, a decision that has since brought her immense fulfillment. “I started school in 2021,” she says, highlighting the pivotal moment that set her on this new path.
What fuels Laura’s passion for real estate is the opportunity to make a difference in her clients’ lives. “Being able to help my clients and seeing them at closing and continuing to help them after closing is an amazing feeling,” she shares. The joy and satisfaction she derives from handing over the keys to a new homeowner is unparalleled. “The feeling you get when it’s all done and they get their keys to their home is indescribable,” she adds.
However, the journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Laura admits that one of the biggest lessons she’s learned as a REALTOR® is that things don’t always go as planned. “To learn that it’s not always going to go the way you want it to” has been a humbling experience, she says. Despite these challenges, Laura remains steadfast in her commitment to her clients and their dreams. “My dreams are my clients’

dreams. To be there during one of the most important parts of their life is amazing,” she emphasizes.
Laura’s definition of success is rooted in perseverance and faith. “Not to give up when you fall down, to get up one more time, and to always have God and my family by my side” is how she defines success. This resilience was put to the test when Laura faced her biggest personal challenge—battling colon cancer. Her determination and positive outlook during this difficult time have only strengthened her resolve to succeed in her career.
In her nearly three years in real estate, Laura has already achieved significant milestones. Last year, she achieved a total volume of
$8,325,770, a testament to her hard work and dedication. Outside of her professional achievements, Laura enjoys making jewelry and traveling, hobbies that provide her with a creative outlet and a way to unwind.
When asked for advice for aspiring real estate agents, Laura’s message is clear: “Don’t give up. Everything is possible.” She believes that every agent brings something unique to the table, but they all share a common goal—to do the best they can for their clients. “We are all different, but I believe we all want the same thing,” she says.
Laura’s aspirations for the future are simple yet profound. She aims to surpass her achievements from the previous year and continue
providing exceptional service to her clients. “To do better than last year,” she states as one of her primary goals. Her love for plants, a fun fact not widely known, adds a personal touch to her story, revealing a nurturing side that undoubtedly translates to her professional life.
Laura E. Friend’s story is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to try something different. Her journey from Monterrey to becoming a successful real estate agent in Dallas is a testament to her resilience, passion, and unwavering commitment to her clients. As she continues to make a difference in the lives of her clients, Laura’s story inspires others to pursue their dreams, no matter where they start or what challenges they face.

GETTING COMFORTABLE WITH BEING UNCOMFORTABLE
Cameron Haase, the designated broker of WM Realty TX LLC, has built an impressive career in the real estate industry over the past 11 years. However, Cameron’s journey to success is not just defined by his professional achievements but by the unique experiences and life lessons that have shaped him along the way. From a childhood spent in the Virgin Islands to pursuing an acting dream in Los Angeles, and finally finding his calling in real estate, Cameron’s story is a narrative of the importance of embracing discomfort and defining oneself by more than just a career.
Cameron was born in Oregon but spent his formative years in the idyllic surroundings of St. Croix, USVI. “Growing up in the Virgin Islands was amazing,” he recalls. Homeschooled and surrounded by the ocean, he surfed, snorkeled, worked, and even landed a small part in a TV pilot. This taste of the entertainment industry sparked a new dream, leading him to move to Los Angeles at just 16 to pursue acting. “I have no idea how I convinced my parents to let me move to LA, rent a room from a friend, and give me six months to try and ‘make it,’ but they agreed, and I was gone!”
Despite coming close to success in Hollywood, Cameron’s path took him back to St. Croix, where a chance encounter would change his life forever. “I met my wife, Summer, at church while she was visiting on a mission trip. We started talking and never stopped.” This serendipitous meeting led Cameron to move to Idaho, where he and Summer married in 2008. “People always ask how I could give up the Caribbean and move to Idaho. It was an easy decision. Idaho has a much better Summer.”
Shortly after their wedding, Cameron and Summer attended Idaho State University, where Cameron graduated with an MBA in 2013. His entry into real estate came through a fortuitous meeting at a TSA security checkpoint with a successful real estate investor. “I was working as a security officer in
Idaho Falls and shared my resume with him. Long story short, I ended up in Dallas, and my real estate career began.”
Cameron’s career took off in the investment side of real estate, leasing properties for an investment company that turned single-family homes into cash-flow rentals. This experience was the perfect preparation for his future role with Open House Texas Realty & Investments (OHT). “We purchase single-family homes throughout DFW, Houston, and Atlanta, turning them into cash flow investment properties. We take homes that are run down and fix them up, often better than most homes in the neighborhood.”
One of the core principles that Cameron lives by is the importance of getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. This philosophy has guided him through the many challenges he has faced in real estate. “My biggest challenge is that I can’t control everything. Learning to let go, trust others, and focus only on what I can do has been an ongoing struggle, but I’m getting there.”
Cameron’s definition of success goes beyond professional achievements. “I’ve always felt like being successful means you’re in a position to help others. Whether with time, resources, or experience, I love serving and giving unexpected surprises. Success to me means I can help make others’ dreams come true.” This mindset is reflected in his leadership style and his dedication to his team. “Working with a great team is one of the best rewards of my position.”
Cameron’s journey has been marked by periods of hardship, such as a time when he couldn’t find work and lived on ramen noodles and expired 7/11 sandwiches. “Looking back, I’ve realized that no matter what, it’s going to be okay. Just put one foot in front of the other and you’ll get through it. Additionally, it’s okay to ask for help.” These experiences have shaped his resilience and his ability to stay focused on his goals.
I love being a husband and father. It has made me a better person, and I’m incredibly thankful.
Outside of real estate, Cameron enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, surfing, and gaming. He and Summer have a beautiful four-year-old son who is the light of their lives. “I love being a husband and father. It has made me a better person, and I’m incredibly thankful.”
As he looks to the future, Cameron is focused on personal health and professional growth. “At the beginning of the year, I decided I wanted to focus on my health to be an active dad that could play and keep up with my son. I was able to lose 50 pounds, and my goal is to keep it off. I also want to continue to help our company grow and expand its US operations.”
Cameron Haase’s story is a powerful reminder that success is not just about career achievements but about the impact we have on the people around us. By embracing discomfort and defining ourselves by more than just our professions, we can lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. As Cameron says, “Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Define yourself by more than just your career. It’s what you bring to the people around you that truly matters.”
