On September 2nd, 2023, Jess and I got married on the balcony of our AirBNB in Santorini, Greece while overlooking the incredible views of the ancient volcanic caldera. If I am being honest, the whole thing felt like a dream. I kept saying to Jess, “I feel like what I am looking at isn’t real.” It looked too… beautiful. She looked…too beautiful.

Jess and I originally were planning on doing a traditional wedding on October 6th, 2023, in Dallas. But, if you have ever planned a wedding before, it is quite the undertaking. We were noticing that we were getting caught up in the details, the guest list, the vendors, the budget, the coordinating, so on and so forth. One day in March, Jess called and said, “What if we didn’t do the big wedding and eloped to Santorini, Greece instead?” I assumed she was joking. But when I realized she wasn’t, I was all for it. This day, this moment, is about us… and nothing else. We wanted to make sure that remained the focus through it all.

We were so grateful that our friends and family were not only okay with it, they were super supportive! In fact, I don’t think there was a single person we told that didn’t say something along the lines of, “Yes! I love it. Great idea!” or “I wish I would have done that!” We know we would have loved every second of the big wedding; no question about it. But at the end of the day, we felt this route was best for us, and I can tell you now that it’s all over, we certainly do not regret it!

I always try to have some sort of take away with these publisher’s notes, and I guess the take away for this one would be to do what you feel is best for you and not what the rest of the world thinks. If you want to try something new in your business, or maybe even try a new business, do it. Do what you feel is best in your heart for you. It is important to do your research, explore the options, and take all things into consideration. But at the end of the day, it is your life to live. So, live it your way… as authentically as you can.

CAPTURING DREAMS AND CREATING MIRACLES

In the face of adversity, James Spece embraced the opportunity to embark on a new career path in real estate. After graduating from the University of North Texas in 2002 and spending two decades in Frisco with his wife, Wendi, and their three children, James found himself facing the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he saw it as a chance to pursue his lifelong dream.

“Real estate was always my predicted future career,” James shares. “When the pandemic hit and I lost my corporate job, I prayed and trusted that there was a better plan for us.” With determination and resilience, James seized the opportunity to transition into real estate, a profession he had always been passionate about.

Prior to becoming a REALTOR®, James spent 15 years as a client services senior leader at a digital marketing agency. Through his work, he helped small businesses grow by

connecting buyers and sellers. This experience not only honed his marketing skills but also taught him the importance of delivering exceptional service and exceeding client expectations.

James’s passion lies in always doing what’s in his client’s best interest. “I’m passionate about ensuring my clients are protected and truly satisfied when we cross the finish line,” he says. This commitment to his clients has earned him a strong referral-based business, as his dedication shines through in every transaction.

The most rewarding part of James’s business is the ability to make a real difference in his clients’ lives during stressful times. Guiding them through the process and helping them achieve their goals brings him a sense of empowerment and fulfillment.

Real estate not only aligns with James’s dreams and goals but also allows him the flexibility to spend quality time with his family. “It’s the perfect fit, and I can’t imagine doing anything else,” he affirms.

Outside of his real estate career, James has a passion for sports photography. As the team photographer for his children’s sports teams, he captures and shares special moments with parents who truly appreciate his work. He also volunteers as the director of photography for the Frisco Miracle League, a sports organization for special needs children. Through his lens, he witnesses the athletes’ resilience and passion for life.

When asked about advice for up-and-coming Real Producers, James encourages continuous learning and growth. He plans to obtain his broker’s license in the coming year, further expanding his knowledge and expertise in the industry.

Born in Songea, a small town in Tanzania, East Africa, Nafisa’s journey from her humble beginnings to becoming a highly regarded REALTOR® is a testament to her unwavering determination. When Nafisa was just five years old, her parents made the life-changing decision to immigrate to the United States, seeking a better future for their family. It was a leap of faith that would shape Nafisa’s character and ignite her passion for hard work and perseverance.

Settling in Indianapolis, Indiana, Nafisa’s family later moved to Kissimmee, Florida, where her parents and uncles invested in a small motel. The family worked tirelessly, seven days a week, 365 days a year, managing all aspects of the business. As a young girl, Nafisa actively participated in the motel’s operations, from daily laundry chores to checking guests in and out, and even cleaning rooms when the maids were unavailable. This hands-on experience instilled in her a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the value of family unity.

During the holidays, Nafisa took on a part-time job at Disney World, an experience that left a lasting impact on her. Working at the “happiest place on earth,” she gained valuable insights into providing exceptional customer experiences—a mindset that she carries with her in her real estate career. “This company’s focus on the customer experience taught me the importance of delivering exceptional service,” Nafisa shares.

Nafisa pursued higher education at the University of Central Florida, where she earned a degree in psychology. Her academic background has proven invaluable in understanding the different personalities she encounters in the real estate industry, enabling her to tailor her services to each client’s unique needs.

While her real estate career officially began part-time in 2010, it was the COVID19 pandemic in 2020 that prompted Nafisa to take the leap and transition to full-time realtor status. The opportunity arose when her full-time job in customer relations at American Airlines offered early retirement packages. Viewing it as a sign from above, Nafisa embraced the booming real estate market in Dallas and committed herself wholeheartedly to her new career path. Reflecting on this pivotal moment, she remarks, “I really felt it was a sign from God that this was my opportunity to work on real estate full time.”

Passionate about continuous learning and personal growth, Nafisa thrives on the unique challenges and opportunities that each day brings in real estate. She finds great joy in helping her clients achieve their dreams, whether it’s finding their perfect home or identifying lucrative investment properties. “I love that every day is different, and each client has specific wants and needs,” Nafisa enthuses. “The challenge of finding the one place that meets their criteria is what makes this job so enjoyable for me.”

While real estate is Nafisa’s professional calling, her dedication to serving others extends beyond her business endeavors. Volunteering is a significant part of her life, and she firmly believes in giving back to her community. Nafisa has lived in Allen for 20 years and enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. While Nafisa initially worked as a solo agent, her husband, Shafiq, has joined her in the

business this Spring, focusing on leases and commercial real estate opportunities; her daughter, Amaya, is her social media and marketing activities person, and sons, Nabil and Zayn are always available for the labor part of the job, like installing signs and deliveries- making the business a true family affair. She nurtures her love for travel taking every opportunity to explore a new part of the world whenever she can and reading with her book clubs. REALTORS®’ Confidence Index: The monthly REALTORS® Confidence Index is a key indicator

of housing market strength based on a monthly survey sent to over 50,000 real estate practitioners. Practitioners are asked about their expectations for home sales, prices, and market conditions. In addition, the “Questions of the Month” feature results of a timely aspect of the housing market.[2]

Methodology: Sampling is a method used in statistics to analyze a general population efficiently. While it is challenging to survey the entire population, researchers use sample groups to conduct their inquiries. For that reason, sampling frequently requires random selection to

create a more representative sample. In some cases, NAR researchers may need to oversample a group or receive higher responses from those in a particular state or who are passionate about a specific issue. Accordingly, a sample may be weighted to represent the population more accurately.

A margin of error is used to ensure confidence in sampling. NAR researchers strive to have margins of error under +/- 2.0 percent. For smaller populations, they focus on the margin of error to ensure reliability and accurate consideration of quantitative data.[3]

At the remarkably young age of 17, Jenni became a homeowner, purchasing her first house while still in high school. This marked the beginning of her eventful journey into real estate. After moving back to Texas, she rented out that home, attended college, and met the love of her life, Brandon, in her first year. The stars aligned, and the couple embarked on a journey that led them to explore different corners of the world.

In 2012, Jenni and Brandon took a bold step and moved to the Dominican Republic, embracing a new culture and a new way of life. Jenni found her calling in real estate during their stay in the DR, where she worked at a local Coldwell Banker office. This was the turning point that ignited her passion for guiding people in their real estate endeavors.

Returning to Texas, Jenni decided to obtain her real estate license, aiming to create a fulfilling career while balancing her responsibilities as a mother. For Jenni, being a successful REALTOR® and a devoted mother was both challenging and rewarding, as it required unwavering dedication and the ability to persevere.

“I have had so many incredible mentors throughout my life who have loved and inspired the person I am today,” Jenni shares, emphasizing the importance of surrounding oneself with positive influences. These mentors taught her the value of reflection, redirecting, and breaking through barriers to achieve her goals.

What sets Jenni apart from other agents is her empathetic ability and intuitive connection with her clients. From first-time homebuyers to seasoned investors, Jenni guides her clients through a myriad of emotions, making every real estate transaction an exciting and fulfilling experience.

In the future, Jenni envisions retiring by the age of 45, enabling her to pursue her dream of traveling the world. Real estate has paved the way for her to achieve this goal and has opened doors to countless opportunities.

Jenni is self-motivated and consistently puts in the hard work, driven by her clients and business. But with the help of Brandon, her biggest supporter, she is able to take the time to recharge and come back stronger. “Real estate comes in ebbs and flows in my business, but that is by design and choice,” says Jenni. “I take much-needed breaks from time to time to recharge and regroup, and this allows me to be the best version of myself. I am motivated by the trust and confidence of my incredible clients as well as my encouraging husband, and I am grateful beyond words for the talent and blessings God has given me.”

FUN FACT:

MMA was a huge part of Jenni’s life for 13 years. Through the disciplines of Karate and Muay Thai, Jenni found an outlet to express herself and build confidence while learning an incredible art form.

“Fighting was a different type of mental toughness, endorphin rush, and self- confidence builder that helped balance me in my career and personal life.”

Throughout her illustrious career, Jenni has garnered numerous accolades, recognizing her excellence as a real estate agent. Yet, her most cherished accomplishment is her family, consisting of her husband, Brandon, and their two children, Tyler and Chloe. Both their children exhibit hard work and dedication, making Jenni and Brandon immensely proud.

Growing up, Darby spent time with her grandfather, who instilled in her a sense of duty to help those in need. He volunteered at a local nonprofit organization, assisting individuals facing tough times with essentials like rent, utilities, and groceries. “My granddaddy was very passionate about volunteering,” Darby remembers. “He felt like it was important that his family members understood that people came from all walks of life and why it was important to help others. I would often go in with him to volunteer and sit in while he interviewed people who came in and talked to them about what they needed. Hearing these stories and this experience with my granddaddy truly shaped my worldview and has always been a driving force to serve my community and help others.”

Darby’s passion for helping others led her to a career in the nonprofit sector after graduating from the University of North Texas. However, her love for houses and remodeling, nurtured by her Aunt Sylvia—a REALTOR® and general contractor—was strong. Throughout her life, Darby cherished the time spent with her aunt, soaking in valuable lessons about the industry and developing a keen eye for design and home improvement.
