On September 2nd, 2023, Jess and I got married on the balcony of our AirBNB in Santorini, Greece while overlooking the incredible views of the ancient volcanic caldera. If I am being honest, the whole thing felt like a dream. I kept saying to Jess, “I feel like what I am looking at isn’t real.”

IT LOOKED TOO…BEAUTIFUL. She looked…too beautiful.

Jess and I originally were planning on doing a traditional wedding on October 6th, 2023, in Dallas. But, if you have ever planned a wedding before, it is quite the undertaking. We were noticing that we were getting caught up in the details, the guest list, the vendors, the budget, the coordinating, so on and so forth. One day in March, Jess called and said, “What if we didn’t do the big wedding and eloped to Santorini, Greece instead?” I assumed she was joking. But when I realized she wasn’t, I was all for it. This day, this moment, is about us… and nothing else. We wanted to make sure that remained the focus through it all.

We were so grateful that our friends and family were not only okay with it, they were super supportive! In fact, I don’t think there was a single person we told that didn’t say something along the lines of, “Yes! I love it. Great idea!” or “I wish I would have done that!” We know we would have loved every second of the big wedding; no question about it. But at the end of the day, we felt this route was best for us, and I can tell you now that it’s all over, we certainly do not regret it!

I always try to have some sort of take away with these publisher’s notes, and I guess the take away for this one would be to do what you feel is best for you and not what the rest of the world thinks. If you want to try something new in your business, or maybe even try a new business, do it. Do what you feel is best in your heart for you. It is important to do your research, explore the options, and take all things into consideration. But at the end of the day, it is your life to live. So, live it your way… as authentically as you can.

To keeping it real,

@realproducers

Carly’s dedication to her craft shines brightly. “It’s not just about keeping up with the evolving industry. Every transaction is a unique narrative,” she shared passionately. Currently immersing herself in AI’s transformative powers, Carly is also eyeing the prestigious GRI designation. “Being among the 10% of agents with a GRI is not just a badge of honor. It’s a testament to my commitment to my clients.”

Yet, the transition to real estate wasn’t without its challenges. Recalling her past role, she noted, “As a spokesmodel, everything was streamlined for me. The transition into real estate was like diving headfirst into the ocean. Suddenly, I had to be the COO, CFO, and CEO of my own venture.” From poring over marketing strategies to optimizing business methodologies, Carly’s

When prodded about her view on success, Carly’s answer echoed the sentiments of a life truly lived. “Success is about making a positive mark,” she began, “to work with pride, to cherish moments with family and friends, and to inspire others to dream more, do more, and live more.”

But her journey to this place of self-assuredness was mired in selfdoubt. “The biggest challenge? It was myself,” she admitted candidly. Recalling a pivotal moment in the CNN center while working at a car show in Atlanta, she said, “That book, ‘Morning Sunshine!’, it was

Cole, Carly’s partner in life, serves as her pillar, fueling her real estate dreams with unwavering support. Together, they’re diving into the world of real estate investment, merging their shared passion.

Outside of her busy schedule, Carly finds relaxation and enjoyment in yoga, dance, and music. “I’m always there, grooving to the beats,” she laughed. But once again, what truly

What sets Carly White apart from other agents isn’t just her professional accolades but her undying spirit. “It’s not just about the transaction,” she stated firmly, “It’s about leaving a mark, making a difference, and journeying together.”

CARLY’S STORY IS MORE THAN JUST REAL ESTATE. IT’S A TESTAMENT TO DREAMING, BELIEVING, AND ACHIEVING, ONE STEP AT A TIME.

Burgan Rachael & Brandon & Titan Lending

A Desire to Do Things Better

After several horrible experiences with buying houses, Rachael and Brandon Burgan knew they could improve the mortgage process. They did just that by not only making it better but by making mortgages available to more people.

They say necessity is the mother of invention. While financing for home buying had been around for almost as long as there have been homes to buy, Rachael and Brandon Burgan knew it was necessary to bring about a change to the process.

“I was working in the oil and gas industry, so we moved around a lot,” Brandon said. “We bought and sold a half a dozen houses and never had a good experience. On house number seven, the experience was even worse. No one took the time to educate us on the financing process. Both of us walked away from that closing saying, ‘What did we just sign?’ That’s when I knew there had to be a better way.”

While the Burgan’s desire to make the mortgage process better stayed in their brains, they took a bit of a detour and started their own utility construction company. They grew that business into a $12 million company before selling it to their partner. That’s when Brandon decided to get into the mortgage lending business. While he liked the work and was focused on learning as much as he could about the business, he became frustrated that he lacked the products to help all his clients. He was convinced that by opening his own shop, he could offer financing products that the big-name lenders couldn’t. “I got extremely tired of saying ‘No’

to my clients,” said Brandon. “So, when Rachael and I seriously started discussing opening our own brokerage, our main focus was immediately on what we could do to make the entire process better for our customers and real estate agents. Open and honest communication, being accessible, and staying true to our word has been essential to our success so far.”

Besides being open and honest and sincerely trying to educate each and every client about the

mortgage process and the available products to help them finance the home of their dreams, the Burgans also credit their work ethic with the secret to their success. They also bring to the table a broad spectrum of life experiences that help them understand their clients’ needs.

Brandon was born in Bossier City, LA and spent his early childhood in Marshall, Texas. “My grandmother worked at the Ramada Inn restaurant in Marshall as a waitress and a cashier. I can remember coming to work with her when I was five years old,” Brandon said. “I would help seat customers, clear tables, and wash dishes in exchange for eating at the buffet.”

His family moved to Houston when he was six years old. He attended Klein Forest High School and then Sam Houston State University. “I quickly realized that college was not for me,” Brandon said. “So, I decided to start my first business at 19 and grew it into a successful landscaping company until the housing market crashed in 2008.” He decided to switch gears and started working in the oil fields. He managed drilling rigs

all over the world, including places like Angola, Africa, and Pakistan before a medical issue forced him to switch gears once again. “After years of traveling and being away from my wife and kids, I decided being away for weeks and months at a time was not in our family’s best interest. I took my knowledge of drilling in the oil and gas industry and applied it to utility construction,” said Brandon.

As for Rachael, her family was also in the oil and gas business. She was born in Wyoming and grew up mostly in Texas, but her family moved around a lot. “My dad was a ballistics engineer. He designed and built explosives for Baker Hughes,” Rachael said. She was a NCAA division one soccer player at Arkansas State University on a soccer scholarship and later graduated from UT Arlington with a bachelor’s in nursing.

Besides being partners in business and in marriage, Brandon and Rachael are also raising two daughters together. “Mackenzie is 13 and Maddison is 11. The girls and I are horse lovers, so we spend a lot of time at our barn in

Flower Mound and at horse shows watching our daughters compete,” Rachael said. “Mackenzie has a handsome Hanoverian Warmblood named Levi, and Maddison has a spunky pony named Monte.”

When I asked the Burgans if they could sum up what made Titan Lending different in one sentence, they actually did it with one word. “Yes,” Brandon said. “When other lenders say no, we say yes.” Sixty percent of Titan Lending’s products are considered alternative lending products that are geared for people that are self-employed or aren’t otherwise W-2 employees that have a more traditional income record. “Our clients are typically turned down two or three times by other lenders before we see them,” said Brandon. “We understand tax returns and self-employment, and we get that there’s a whole niche there. Plus, we can close

faster than the big lenders. Where other lenders are closing in 28 to 45 days, we can close in 10. We have the processes in place to do solid pre-approvals and appraisals in four days,” Brandon said. “It’s all in how we work it. We help realtors close deals.”

R O SY HERRERA

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED

At 11 years old, Rosy Herrera and her family immigrated from Mexico to Chicago under tragic circumstances. But what began as a move out of necessity has transformed into a blessing in Rosy’s life. Her path hasn’t been easy, but it’s led her right where she’s meant to be.

“My mother brought me with six kids because my dad was killed in Mexico,” Rosy shares bluntly. “It was a difficult time. We were living in a small town in Mexico, and my grandmother decided to move us here to the US so she could work and support us.”

Upon landing in Chicago, Rosy struggled with a new culture and language. Her family came illegally, so Rosy’s mother was severely limited in the types of work she could do. The family rebuilt their lives from the ground up, with many obstacles along the way.

Despite the challenges, Rosy experienced countless blessings in her newfound opportunity. “I was happy to see that things were different here, getting to live a new life. I was actually very happy to move to Chicago — a new life, a new beginning, and it was a better life for me. I could go to school and start learning English. Life was easier here. We were able to live better.”

BUILDING A LIFE

As Rosy reached adulthood, she began working in Chicago’s amnesty programs, supporting those from a similar background. She supported families and individuals in getting their resident’s cards, translating birth certificates, and helping them with an assortment of paperwork and logistical needs. Soon, these families began asking Rosy to assist with another big task — finding a home.

“Since I was helping a lot of people to get set up for residency, I had an opportunity,” Rosy reflects. “I was in college getting an associate’s degree in business administration, and I began taking courses to go to real estate school.”

In 1992, Rosy moved to Texas, got married, and launched her real estate career. At 24 years old, she set out to do the impossible — build a business in another unfamiliar locale.

If there was one thing Rosy knew how to do, it was how to overcome challenges. She gradually built her business, and by 2000, she founded her own brokerage, Milenio Real Estate Inc. At its height, Milenio had two offices and more than a dozen agents. Rosy also founded a real estate magazine, Vanguardia Del Metroplex, in 2002, which became a pivotal element to her business, helping her generate leads for those relocating from Mexico and other parts of the US.

26 • October 2023 @realproducers
Written by: Zachary Cohen Photos by: Katie Wallace Studios inspirational agent

In 2019, Rosy experienced health challenges, causing her to take a step back and reassess her business. She decided to change her strategy, leaving a managerial role and returning to her roots as a salesperson. She founded Key Funding Solution, allowing her to focus more on the investment side of her business, too. Rosy went on to close 50 homes in 2022, 20 of which were her own flips.

In 2023, Rosy made another transition in business, leaving Milenio Real Estate behind to join LPT Realty. She’s now supported in business by her son, Jovany, as well.

LIVING IN GRATITUDE

As she reflects on her journey, Rosy taps into immense gratitude for the life she lives. With perseverance and a commitment to serving others, she’s created the life of her dreams. What more could she have hoped for when she arrived from Mexico all those years ago?

“I come from a difficult background, and to be able to find so much success in life… It’s amazing,” Rosy beams. “I just keep putting my head down and coming through for my clients. I keep doing the legwork. I get out in my community and try to help people every day. I try to be the best I can for my family and for my clients.”

THE INSPIRING JOURNEY OF FROM CHALLENGE TO TRIUMPH:

REEVES REEVES CHRIS CHRIS

Photos by: Katharine Gann, DayDream Photography cover story

“I was born and raised in Abilene, moved to Amarillo, and eventually found my way to North Texas,” Chris reflects. “And while my path was winding, every step was a lesson, a nudge towards my calling.” A high school dropout and a parent at a young age, Chris was not the typical candidate for success. “I started life on what most would call the wrong track,” he shares candidly, “But challenges don’t define you; how you overcome them does.”

Chris began his career in customizing cars and trucks at FX Motorsports, later venturing into real estate. However, the looming 2008 market crash saw him pivot to respiratory therapy. “I believed the crash would be my end in real estate,” Chris admits, “But God had other plans.” His return to real estate in 2014, this time in the DFW market, set the stage for an incredible journey.

“God put the right people and opportunities in my path. It takes this entire team to succeed at a high level, and our faith in Him propels us forward,” Chris says, reflecting on his success mantra. He attributes a significant part of his success to a realization that came hard-won: “I can’t do it all on my own. It’s about collaboration, trust, and recognizing the strength of those around you.”

When asked about the most rewarding aspect of his business, Chris’s answer is simple yet profound: “Helping others

Fort Worth Real Producers • 33
In the bustling expanse of the DFW real estate market, one name stands out with a glow of humility and sheer resilience: Chris Reeves, founder of Trinity Group Realty. Chris’s journey, marked by trials, early life challenges, and a boundless faith, exemplifies the essence of determination.

achieve their dreams.” He emphasizes the importance of a team that shares the same ethos: “There’s a wonderful sense of satisfaction in being part of a team that works collaboratively towards bigger goals.”

And indeed, his team, Trinity Home Group, embodies this collaborative spirit. “My wife, Katy, not only lends her strength and love to our family but is also an integral part of our business,” he says. Together, they are shaping the future of Trinity Group Realty, even venturing into land development with Renew Azle, LLC.

Chris’s advice to budding real estate professionals? “Provide value and come from abundance. Don’t attach money to outcomes,” he urges. “Set your goals, but keep your eyes open to every opportunity. Look for opportunities, not obstacles.” He credits the late Joe Potts for this advice that has served him well: “Always come from abundance in everything you do.”

Reflecting on his 19 years in real estate, Chris highlights a crucial aspect of his business philosophy: “I believe in

providing service rather than just making sales. I come with a vast knowledge spanning all areas of real estate, which gives me an edge in offering comprehensive service to my clients.”

As for the future, Chris is all about growth – both personal and for his team. “I aim for at least 40 personal transactions and a team goal of 96 transactions with a sales volume of $50 million,” he outlines. And with the launch of his brokerage and plans to expand Trinity Group Realty, he shows no signs of slowing down.

With a life brimming with experience and lessons, Chris wishes to be remembered for one thing: “Growing others, in their careers and personally. I want to be that beacon of hope, someone who believed in others even when they couldn’t.”

In Chris Reeves’ journey, we see a tale of resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to growth and service. It’s a testament to the fact that with determination, God, and the right people around you, every challenge can be transformed into an opportunity.

The Triumphant Trio of Baker Firm/Fidelity Title
rp vetted business spotlight

In the DFW real estate industry, the Baker Firm/Fidelity Title shines as a beacon of integrity and unparalleled service. At its core are three dynamic individuals – Nikki Jackson, Troy Moncrief, and Chris Baker - each bringing their unique expertise to the table, crafting a blend that spells success in the world of title insurance. Their story isn’t just about business; it’s about relationships, shared vision, and an undying commitment to doing the right thing.

the Omni in Fort Worth? Chris, the real estate law expert; Troy, the marketing maestro with vast connections; and Nikki, with her four decades of title experience, fused their passions. From its original location in Southlake, the company now proudly stands tall in several locations across North Texas.

Journeying back a decade, Chris had a vision: a title company that stood out in terms of service and efficiency. Approaching longtime friend Troy, Chris envisioned Baker Firm/Fidelity Title’s inception. While initially the stars didn’t align, destiny had its way in 2012. When the title company Nikki and Troy worked for underwent management shifts and dissatisfaction crept in. Recognizing an opportune moment, a rendezvous was set. And where better to birth a business dream than over glasses of wine at

The success recipe has a few secret ingredients: exceptional customer service, a deep-rooted commitment to their team, and an uncanny knack for navigating even the trickiest of real estate transactions. As Nikki emphasizes, “Our experience and our team’s attitude to get every deal done, if there’s a way, sets us apart.” Troy adds, “We’ve always gone above and beyond. Every single time.” And for Chris, it’s the collective attitude and capabilities that define their success. Their mantra? “Always do the right thing, and do unto others as you would want them to do to you.”

In the world of real estate, every title company might offer similar services, but Baker Firm/ Fidelity Title plays a different ballgame. “We aren’t corporate. We get deals done when others can’t. Our relationships, our personnel, and our can-do attitude take most deals over the finish line,” says Chris with palpable pride.

Fort Worth Real Producers • 39 realproducersmag.com
WE’VE ALWAYS GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

But who are they beyond the boardrooms and deals?

Nikki is cherishing her “fourth quarter” of life. With a lineage in the business, her son now follows in her footsteps. Grandchildren, travel, sports, and pool time make her day. Troy, with a heart that beats for the outdoors, shares a beautiful bond with his family. They often huddle around for celebrations and moments, with TCU football playing in the background. Chris, a Fort Worth native, cherishes time with his family. Whether it’s his eldest son’s educational pursuits or his younger son’s philanthropic ventures for the hearing-impaired, family sits at the heart of his world.

When asked about work-life balance, Nikki explains the industry’s rigorous demands. “We aren’t confined to 8-5. But when we have family time, we make it count,” she says, underlining the importance of prioritizing family moments amid the hustle. For the three, the future beckons with promises of expanding their business footprint, strengthening relationships, and nurturing the next generation of title professionals.

REAL ESTATE WITH SOUL

In the heart of Dallas’ real estate world, a name resonates with genuineness and heart: Janna Seal. Celebrating a decade in the industry in September, Janna brings not just experience but passion to the world of residential real estate.

Beyond helping clients find their dream homes, she provides valuable design consultation and construction/renovation services. It’s not just about sealing a deal; it’s about creating homes that resonate deeply with the individuals and families she serves. This comprehensive approach establishes Janna as a one-stop shop for all things home.

another layer to the seamless experiences she offers. The joy of connecting her clients with the perfect home, negotiating terms tailored to their needs, and introducing them to skilled tradespeople has always been paramount in

In her conversations, Janna often highlights one particular phase that she’s most passionate about - the initial consultation. It’s here that she dives deep into the hopes, dreams, and fears of her clients. Past experiences, expectations, concerns, all come to the forefront, laying a strong foundation for the journey ahead. Her ability to discern underlying emotions from the mere twitch of an eyebrow or a hesitating voice makes these sessions invaluable. Such attention to detail often leaves clients exclaiming, “Wow, I didn’t think of that!”, or understanding the significance of seemingly minor points.

But what really differentiates Janna from the vast sea of competitors? Her belief that God is her provider. She emphasizes, “Not people, not home sales, not striving. People are for relationship.” This sentiment is deeply rooted in her practice, echoing her desire that God would have the glory - “He established the work of my hands.” Janna’s driving force remains the act of loving well. Above all, she wishes to be known for her love for Christ, her family, and the people she serves.

Her specialization ranges from serving past clients and referrals in the $500k to $900k price range to catering to various life changes that influence living situations. From hardworking middle-class families to empty nesters looking

towards their retirement, Janna’s client base is diverse, and her dedication unwavering.

Janna’s belief in fostering a “Clients for Life” culture stands out, not just for her clients but for anyone she engages with in her professional sphere. This principle of generosity and contribution has always borne fruit, making her an invaluable asset to top producers and a shining example for upcoming agents.

Outside of her profession, Janna’s world revolves around her family. Married to Jerry Seal for 24 years, together they cherish the joy of three grown children, including two daughter-in-laws, and two wonderful grandchildren. Every Sunday, the family converges for a sumptuous dinner, a ritual that stands testament to their close bond. Whether it’s the thrill of football season or the calm of a summer evening by the pool, these gatherings are a cherished tradition.

Janna’s journey from her birthplace in Dallas to where she stands today is woven with trials and triumphs. Growing up near Tulsa, Oklahoma, she later pursued retail manage ment at the Art Institute in Dallas. Life took her to St. Louis, marked by professional strides and personal upheavals. It was during these challenging times that her faith became her anchor. Upon meeting Jerry and relocating to Arlington, TX, in 1999, she felt an instant connection, as if she had come home. The subsequent years saw her delve into the world of real estate, armed with an unyielding spirit and a prayer from Psalms 90:16-17: “Let Your work appear to Your ser vants, and Your glory to their children. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.”

Reflecting on her decade-long journey, Janna attributes her success to building relationships rooted in trust. She emphasizes the essence of treating people with genuine care, free from the pressure of competition, which has enabled her to forge lasting bonds. For her, success is the culmination of countless small victories, a harvest reaped from hard work, integrity, and con tinuous learning.

Away from work, Janna revels in the company of family and friends. Hosting a LIFEgroup, indulg ing in culinary experiments, or simply basking in the simple pleasures of life, Janna remains an embodiment of dedication and love, both profes sionally and personally. “Make hay while the sun is shining” is a favorite quote and one that embod ies her spirit of living life to the fullest, each and every day. Real estate is not the only area of Janna’s life that has soul!
