Have you ever thought about your mindset in regard to your business and life? Are you relational or transactional? Do you believe in collaboration or competition? Do you believe in abundance or scarcity? Are you short-term or long-term focused?
Depending on how you truly answer these questions will determine not only your enjoyment in your life and business but also how long your business will continue to succeed. Creating success in the short-term, and sustaining success over time, are two very different things.
Simon Sinek’s book The Infinite Game is a transformational book around this topic. He brings about the point that in business, most of the time, the pie is plenty big enough for everyone, and that we are better off focusing on how, collectively, we can grow the pie together, versus trying to take a crumb off your competitor’s plate. He says that if you embrace your competitors as co-players, you will start to develop a mindset of abundance over scarcity, which will in turn get you to focus on the big “why” in your business… more than the person next to you who is trying to “beat you.” This shift creates more success for you and your organization.
This focus on abundance over scarcity, and how that drastically alters our experience, is something I have been putting a lot of awareness around lately. Did you know we have something in our brains called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) that is a bundle of nerves at our brainstem that only allows important information to come through our brains and filters out the “unnecessary” data?
What is interesting is that there are billions of bits of data coming through our five senses at any given moment, and our brains can only process a tiny fraction of that information. This is where the RAS comes in; the data that gets allowed in is determined by our beliefs. If you believe people are friendly, that is what you will see and experience. If you believe people are wicked, that is also what you will see and experience. If you believe there is abundance… you guessed it…you will live in a world filled with abundance. “Ask and you shall receive,” has never rang truer.
As we enter into the midway point of the year, I want to challenge you to look at your beliefs and how you are approaching your life and business. Some of you may realize that you have been allowing your RAS to show you a world that is making it more difficult for you to create the life you want. It is important to ask…are you playing the infinite game?
I hope to see you in the land of abundance!

Christie Deaton’s roots run deep in the heart of Texas; she was born and raised in Dallas with cherished memories of her childhood spent amidst the tranquil countryside of East Texas. A story rich with personal triumphs and professional milestones, Christie’s journey in the real estate industry embodies perseverance, passion, and an unwavering commitment to her clients’ dreams.
“My upbringing was centered around family,” Christie began, her voice tinged with nostalgia. “I cherished the time spent with my parents over home-cooked dinners every evening. Throughout middle school and high school, she participated in and relished spending time outdoors, helping her dad with chores, riding her bicycle, and indulging in the “peaceful pastime of fishing” with her younger brother. But the city’s fast-pace and vibrant energy offered her more opportunities and eventually called to Christie.
Before venturing into the realm of real estate, Christie spent two decades in the dental industry, honing her leadership skills and gaining invaluable business acumen. However, life took an unexpected turn when her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. “I immediately shifted my focus to taking care of my mom,” Christie shared, her gaze reflecting the profound loss she endured. “It was a devastating blow to our family.” Then, six months later, her younger brother took his own life because he could not cope with the
devastating loss of their mother. As Christie explains, “I needed to maintain some sense of normalcy in my life, so I continued to work in the dental industry alongside my work family, which was familiar and comfortable to me. I didn’t think about pursuing my real estate license again.”
Despite the hardships she faced, Christie found solace in the support of her loved ones, especially her husband, Sean, whose unwavering belief reignited her dormant aspirations. “One day in conversation, my
husband said, ‘I think you would be a great real estate agent. Have you thought about working on your real estate license?’ His comment caught my attention,” Christie recalled. “I decided to ‘get back on the horse’ and pursue a new career in real estate at the age of 40.”
Fast forward to the present, and Christie stands tall as a pillar of success, a testament to the power of resilience and determination. “I’ve learned that it’s imperative to hold onto your dreams and aspirations,”
Christie Deaton is a consistent top performer. Christie is an inspiration to others with her professionalism, positivity, dedication and compassion to excel. She is a person you can count on in real estate transactions, in stressful situations, in luxury home sales, etc. with a cool head and a positive attitude. It is a pleasure working with an innovative, compassionate person who never misses an opportunity to help someone.
- Angela Stilson, VP of Agent Sales & DevelopmentChristie affirmed. “Perseverance is key to success.”
Throughout her nine-year tenure as a REALTOR®, Christie’s dedication to her clients has remained unwavering. “I define success as the ability to accomplish my goals even when faced with challenges,” Christie emphasized. “It’s about making a positive impact on people’s lives and living up to my full potential.”
Christie’s commitment extends beyond the realm of transactions; it’s about fostering lasting connections and leaving a positive imprint on those she encounters. “I prioritize my clients’ interests above my own,” Christie asserted. “It’s about empathy, honesty, and going above and beyond.”
As we delved into Christie’s vision for the future, her passion for giving back to the community shone brightly. “A fellow colleague and I are excited to launch an agent-led initiative to support The Sunshine Kids,” Christie shared with enthusiasm.
“Our aim is to exceed the amount of funds raised in previous years and make a meaningful impact.”
Beyond her professional endeavors, Christie finds contentment in her family, friends, and furry companions.
“Family is so important to me,” she shares. “The values my mom and dad instilled during my childhood echo into the life I have today. I was taught to be kind, to work hard, and to try leave this place better than I found it. I lost my mom, dad, and brother much too soon, but the roots they
helped plant all those years ago are the reason I am successful today. My husband Sean, our three boys, and our furry family help make my life complete. My two French bulldogs hold a special place in my heart. Their lovable personalities make every moment spent with them a delight.”
Christie Deaton reminds us of the true essence of real estate—the profound impact it has on people’s lives and the opportunity it presents to leave a lasting legacy of kindness and compassion. Christie’s dedication to her goals and triumph in the face of adversity is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of pursuing one’s passion. She proves that it is never too late to get back in the saddle and pursue your wildest dreams.

IIt’s impossible to place a value on a life’s work, but for Donna Robichaux, a real estate career spanning 32 years has provided her with a wealth of experiences, maturity, and insight. “I have had the privilege of working with so many sweet and interesting people over the years,” begins Donna. “It has given me lots of insight, maturity, and lots of laughs and fun.” Born in El Campo, Texas, Donna’s journey from a music major at the University of Houston to becoming a prominent figure in the real estate scene is nothing short of inspiring.
Her journey began in 1991 after years of teaching preschool, directing church choirs, and working in retail—a testament to her diverse talents and passions. “I love watching the process come to fruition and making sellers and buyers realize their dreams,” Donna shares, her passion for her work evident in every word. “I am dedicated to a very high level of client service, and I love people. I am honest, collaborative, and have high standards for myself. I also love to have fun and enjoy life and I hope I pass that on to my clients.”
Success, for Donna, transcends mere achievements—it’s about inner growth, gratitude, and authenticity. “Success comes from within,” she explains. “It is learning to like and accept yourself, to be grateful, and to be willing to continue to grow.”
Her dedication to excellence and integrity has earned her numerous accolades over the years, including company-wide recognition and leadership roles within her local real estate community.
Like any journey, Donna’s path in real estate wasn’t without its challenges. “The biggest challenge I had when I first got into real estate was adjusting to the reality that I had to learn to pivot on a dime,” she reflects. “This career has helped me to live in the moment and enjoy the process as it unfolds.”
With each obstacle, Donna learned to adapt and thrive, embodying resilience and grace—a testament to her unwavering dedication to her craft.
Beyond the realm of real estate, Donna’s impact reverberates through her involvement in various community initiatives. As a past president and current board member of a 501(c)(3) organization, “Your Home Team Cares,” she extends a helping hand to those in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and service. “We give one-time help to members of the community who find themselves in need when life throws them a curve ball,” Donna explains. “I have also served on the Lantana Water Board #6 for the past 16 years and am an active member of Cross Timbers Rotary. I am very proud to be a part of this very active group of men and women making a difference in our community and our world,” Donna shares, highlighting her commitment to fostering positive change.
Beyond the hustle and bustle of real estate, Donna still finds enjoyment in music, live entertainment, reading, and traveling with her close-knit group of friends. “My biggest success is watching the lives of my three grown sons and their families,” she shares, her pride evident in her words.
Despite her busy schedule, Donna finds time to indulge in her passions, embodying the balance between work and personal life—a true testament to her commitment to living life to the fullest.
As she looks towards the future, Donna’s goals are simple yet profound. “My goal for this year is twofold,” she shares. “I am working on ‘trust’ and striving to work a little less and travel a little more.”
With each passing year, Donna continues to leave an indelible mark on the real estate landscape, embodying integrity, humor, and a relentless passion for her craft. With her decades long career, she leaves us with this sage advice to up-and-coming REALTORS®: “You are the president of your personal business. Work hard, learn the contracts inside and out, sharpen your negotiating skills, keep it real, and keep yourself humble.”
Donna is one of my favorite people on Planet Earth. Her energy and enthusiasm for life and real estate is contageous. As an agent of over 30 years, on most days, she’s still the first one in the office and the last one to leave. More importanly, she continues to learn every day and goes out of her way to pass on her wealth of knowledge to those newer agents following in her footsteps. I can promise you this... Ebby is smiling down from above and is so proud of Donna Robichaux!

The insurance industry is vast and full of options. It’s where claims are settled, risks are managed, and peace of mind is given to its policyholders. In the DFW metroplex, there exists a gem known as Century Insurance Agency (CIA), and nestled within its core is Angela Kreig, senior director of business development. While Angela’s journey took her down a very different road, today she loves working in the property and casualty insurance business and believes she has found a home at CIA.
THE ESSENCE OF CENTURY INSURANCE AGENCY
Century Insurance Agency isn’t just another insurance provider; it’s a business built upon the pillars of value, integrity, and superior service. Angela encapsulates this essence by stating, “We do this by really getting to know our clients to customize their coverage to protect them properly.” As an independent agency, they offer a breadth of choices, partnering with over 100 carriers to secure the best coverage, price, and service for their clients.
Jason Helal, the president of Century Insurance Agency, underscores their commitment, stating, “Our dedication to our clients is recognized in the industry as setting the best level of client-focused care and concern.” This dedication extends beyond
mere transactions; it’s about fostering relationships built on trust and reliability.
Angela’s passion for her work radiates through the highest standards in customer care.
“First and foremost, we are passionate about taking care of our customers,” she emphasizes. “From making sure they have the appropriate coverage to servicing their accounts for years to come, our job doesn’t end once we have finalized
first dance class when she was just three years old. She continued dance over the next 15 years, and this led to acting and singing. “I competed in dance competitions and pageants, performed in musicals and plays, and when I look back, those days on stage were some of the happiest times of my life,” Angela reminisces.
She would go on to graduate from college with a journalism degree, and even secured an internship at MTV Networks in Santa Monica. “My internship led to a summer job where I met my now ex-husband,” Angela reveals. This led her to move to North Texas in 2002.
Angela got a talent agent and went on some auditions, booking a national Nike commercial and auditioning for a pilot that would turn out to be Grey’s Anatomy. “We were saving for our first home and that was a priority for me,” says Angela. “Having a family has always been a priority for me. In the end, the dream of being a wife and mother won over the dream of being an actress.”
their policies.” Life changes, and CIA is setup to be able to continue providing personalized service to all their policyholders. “We are also very passionate about supporting our REALTOR® and mortgage partners,” Angela continues, “who trust us with their referrals.” It’s this collaborative spirit that sets them apart in the industry.
Angela’s journey began in Northern California, taking her
She started a career in the title insurance business and would go on to have a successful 20 year career. But a phone call from her good friend Kathy Travis would change the trajectory of her career. “She called me one day and asked if I would be interested in coming to work with her at Century Insurance Agency,” shares Angela. “Kathy has been a commercial insurance agent for 30 years and has been with Century Insurance Agency for 12 of those. After meeting with Owner Jason Helal, I knew I had found a new home at CIA.” Jason established CIA in 1996 after studying risk management at the University of North Texas. “He is recognized as an expert in the industry and goes out of his way to treat everyone in our company like family, placing an emphasis on the importance of work-life balance,” Angela adds.
CIA has been recognized as a Best Practices Agency and as one of the top 238 agencies in the United States for 11 of the last 14 years, and Angela couldn’t be prouder. Her success, however, isn’t just measured by professional accolades but by the gratitude she feels each morning, embarking on a new day filled with possibilities. “If you value partnerships that are relational rather than transactional, we are the insurance agency for you,” she says. “If you want to make sure that your clients can get someone to talk to when they need service
as opposed to calling an 800 number, we are the insurance agency for you. If you want to work with people that truly care about you and helping you grow your business, we want to work with you.”.
Angela’s journey isn’t just about professional milestones; it’s a testament to balancing motherhood and a thriving career.
“I always knew I wanted to have a family,” Angela reflects, cherishing moments with her two daughters, Sidney (18) and Sloan (15). Amidst the chaos of daily life, from impromptu hangouts to laughter-filled car rides, Angela finds the most joy in her children.
Work-life balance isn’t just a buzzword for Angela; it’s a conscious effort to savor life’s simple pleasures. Whether it’s exploring new dining spots, embarking on spontaneous adventures, or relishing quality time with her parents, who live nearby, Angela finds harmony amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Angela has always loved sharing her food and travel finds with friends. In 2017, she started a side hustle, Nosey Dog Media, focusing on providing social media services for restaurants.
“I find myself extremely lucky to have had Marty B’s in Bartonville as my first
client,” she explains. “I managed their social media for the first 3 years upon opening and grew my business to 5 additional restaurants.” With the demands of a full-time career, Angela had to scale back during COVID. “I’m happy I’ve continued to work with Hillside Fine Grill,” she adds. “I began with them when they opened in 2018, and it’s been incredible to help build their brand through social media.”
As Angela charts her course for the future, she envisions a revival of her show, DRIVEN, a platform where she delves into the lives of successful business owners and community leaders while they ride in a car together. But beyond professional aspirations, her goals resonate with a deeper purpose—to be the best version of herself for her family, her business, and her community.
Angela Kreig epitomizes the heart and soul of Century Insurance Agency—a woman of integrity, passion, authenticity, and dedication to her clients. Her journey from the stage and screen to a career of client-focused care serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, working moms, and seasoned professionals alike. As she navigates the intricate dance of life, Angela’s story reminds us that success isn’t merely measured by milestones but by the impact we leave on those around us.

Texas is a place rich in stories of bravery and resilience. Born and raised in the HEB area, Jordyn Swingle stands out as more than just a real estate agent—she’s a testament to the power of faith in God and unwavering determination. As the owner of Swingle + Co Team, Jordyn has carved a unique path in the industry, driven by her heart for people and the challenges she’s overcome by God’s grace.
Jordyn’s journey into real estate was not a conventional one. After attending L.D. Bell High School and pursuing higher education at UNT and a bible college in Southlake, TX, she found her true calling in the dynamic world of real estate.
“I began my career in real estate in June of 2021,” Jordyn shares, reflecting on her relatively short but impactful tenure in the industry. Prior to her venture into real estate, she and her husband owned a wedding photography business, where she honed her skills in marketing and sales—a foundation that would later serve her well in her real estate endeavors.
For Jordyn, real estate is more than just buying and selling properties— it’s about empowering her clients with knowledge and information to make informed decisions that can change their lives. “ Real estate gives me the opportunity to leave people better than I found them in more ways than one, and I truly get emotional
thinking about that,” Jordyn candidly shares. “God gave me certain gifts, and to be able to use them to love people well and also make a living for my family is mind-blowing.
The most rewarding part of Jordyn’s business isn’t just about closing deals—it’s about helping families build a better future through homeownership. “I am passionate about helping people build their finances and invest in something that leaves their kids and the next generation better off,” she says, highlighting the profound impact of her work on her clients’ lives.
But Jordyn’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges. As a cancer
survivor who has walked with a prosthetic leg since childhood and lost her father to cancer at a young age, she’s no stranger to adversity. “Those challenges prepared me for the grit it takes to be in business for myself,” she shares, emphasizing the role of faith in sustaining her through life’s trials.
In the midst of her professional success, Jordyn remains grounded by her family—a source of love, joy, and inspiration. “My husband and I are
best friends,” she says. “My daughter is our miracle girl, and my son is the absolute love of my life.”
Outside of real estate, Jordyn finds joy in a variety of hobbies and interests, from working out, skiing, and cooking to spending quality time with loved ones and indulging in murder mystery shows. “Most days I feel as if I am living in a dream,” she admits, reflecting on the abundance of blessings in her life.
IT TAKES
As she looks to the future, Jordyn’s goals are focused on growth, both personally and professionally, and include, “Hiring two more new agents to our team, reaching $12 million in sales, and being present with my kids when they need me,” she shares, highlighting her commitment to building a thriving business while prioritizing her family.
In everything she does, Jordyn remains guided by her faith and authenticity, ensuring that she leaves a lasting impact on everyone she encounters. “I want to be remembered for the way I loved people and the way I loved Jesus,” she says, reflecting on the legacy she hopes to leave behind.
As North Fort Worth continues to evolve and grow, Jordyn Swingle stands a shining example of what it means to be a true Texan – to overcome adversity and thrive in the face of challenges. With her heart for people and her unwavering commitment to excellence, Jordyn is not just selling homes—she’s changing lives using her God-given gifts in real estate.
Eric and Michelle Herron are a testament to hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to their clients and community. As the Broker/Owners of HH Realty, Eric and Michelle are building a legacy founded on resilience, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Eric and Michelle’s path converged when they met while working for the same company in Shreveport, Louisiana, forging a partnership that would eventually redefine their lives.
Eric’s journey into real estate was preceded by a decade-long career as a crane operator—a testament to his blue-collar work ethic and dedication to mastering his craft. Michelle began her professional career in an administrative role with a large real estate company, where she honed her skills in management and operations.
“Real estate has no ceiling,” Eric reflects, emphasizing the boundless
opportunities the industry offers to those willing to put in the hard work.
“If you work hard, stay constant, and are willing to do what others are not, you have limitless opportunities.”
For Eric and Michelle, success isn’t just about closing deals—it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of their clients and agents.
“Our main passion in business is to provide an exceptional customer experience,” Michelle explains. “That includes both our real estate clients and the agents that align themselves with our brokerage.”
“When we are able to help our clients and agents achieve their goals, that’s when we feel truly successful,” Eric shares. “There are many reasons people buy and sell homes, and with our experience, we have had the opportunity to serve clients going through both great and challenging times.”
Their commitment to excellence has earned them numerous accolades and recognitions, including being recognized as top producers in the DFW market and ranking among the top agents in their respective regions. However, for Eric and Michelle, the true measure of success lies in the impact they have on others. They support their local community through sponsoring a First Responder Hometown Heroes award each year, and a yearly scholarship to a local high school student. They also support local foster and adoption causes, serve on the board of the Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce, and are active members of their Church.
Behind their professional success lies a deeply personal journey—one marked by resilience, faith, and the power of community.

As they struggled with infertility, Eric and Michelle embarked on a journey filled with hope, heartache, and ultimately, triumph. Their family has always been their why.
“After multiple rounds of unsuccessful IVF treatments, we were given the opportunity to become foster parents to a newborn baby boy,” Michelle recounts. “He became the light of our world, and at 18 months old, we were able to officially adopt him.”
Their journey didn’t end there. Despite the odds, Eric and Michelle welcomed another son into their family through a successful embryo transfer—a testament to their unwavering faith and perseverance in the face of adversity.
In their down time, one of their shared interests is in a TV show. “We are the biggest fans of the show ‘The Office,’” Eric and Michelle share, offering a glimpse into their lighter side amidst the challenges of real estate and family life. “We have watched the entire series front to back countless times, and feel like our relationship is a real life version of Jim and Pam’s!”
As they look to the future, Eric and Michelle remain committed to serving their community, building their real estate brokerage, and empowering others to achieve their dreams. “Real estate is a hyper-local business, providing a hyper-local service to a local community,” they emphasize. “We want people to remember that we worked hard for them, did the right thing, and helped them achieve their goals.”

Through their work, they’re not just building a brand — they’re helping others build a legacy through Real Estate.

Last party, like all of our parties, was an absolute blast! At this event, we showcased the January through March 2024 issues. These events are a fun way to debut the magazine and connect with a smaller group of incredible people.
