ABUNDANCE IS EVERYWHERE!

Or Is It?

publisher’s note

Have you ever thought about your mindset in regard to your business and life? Are you relational or transactional? Do you believe in collaboration or competition? Do you believe in abundance or scarcity? Are you short-term or long-term focused?

Depending on how you truly answer these questions will determine not only your enjoyment in your life and business but also how long your business will continue to succeed. Creating success in the short-term, and sustaining success over time, are two very different things.

Simon Sinek’s book The Infinite Game is a transformational book around this topic. He brings about the point that in business, most of the time, the pie is plenty big enough for everyone, and that we are better off focusing on how, collectively, we can grow the pie together, versus trying to take a crumb off your competitor’s plate. He says that if you embrace your competitors as co-players, you will start to develop a mindset of abundance over scarcity, which will in turn get you to focus on the big “why” in your business… more than the person next to you who is trying to “beat you.” This shift creates more success for you and your organization.

This focus on abundance over scarcity, and how that drastically alters our experience, is something I have been putting a lot of awareness around lately. Did you know we have something in our brains called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) that is a bundle of nerves at our brainstem that only allows important information to come through our brains and filters out the “unnecessary” data?

What is interesting is that there are billions of bits of data coming through our five senses at any given moment, and our brains can only process a tiny fraction of that information. This is where the RAS comes in. And, the data that gets allowed in, is determined by our beliefs. If you believe people are friendly, that is what you will see and experience. If you believe people are wicked, that is also what you will see and experience. If you believe there is abundance… you guessed it…you will live in a world filled with abundance. “Ask and you shall receive,” has never rang truer.

As we enter into the midway point of the year, I want to challenge you to look at your beliefs and how you are approaching your life and business. Some of you may realize that you have been allowing your RAS to show you a world that is making it more difficult for you to create the life you want. It is important to ask…are you playing the infinite game?

I hope to see you in the land of abundance!

In Dallas real estate, where stories intersect and dreams take shape, Summer Graham is going above and beyond to make her clients feel special. A native of the Dallas suburb of Midlothian, Summer’s journey into the world of real estate is a testament to her innate drive to serve others and her unwavering pursuit of excellence.

Before embarking on her career in real estate, Summer’s path was paved with a diverse array of experiences, each contributing to her unique perspective and skill set. “I started in member relations at Dallas Country Club, which is where I met my husband, and went on to be on the pre-opening sales team at the Omni Dallas Hotel,” Summer reminisced, her eyes reflecting on the memories of her early professional endeavors. “Through all this, I was no stranger to making others feel valuable, negotiating, hard work, and serving others.”

It was in 2017 that Summer decided to embark on her own real estate journey, driven by a desire to bridge the gap between exceptional client service and the real estate industry. Her husband was licensed in 2012 to help better transact their personal investments, but also to be a financial resource to any of his friends and family so they didn’t have to go through something like he did in the crash of 2008. “I assisted him behind the scenes for years until I realized there was a huge disparity in incredible agents who truly serve their clients and every other agent,” Summer recalled. “I got my license and haven’t looked back since.”

For Summer, real estate isn’t just about transactions—it’s about facilitating transitions and creating lasting impacts.

REALTOR® on the rise

Despite the challenges she has faced, Summer’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of resilience and determination. “Being able to start from nothing and, by just loving people and serving them well, to double my business every year since becoming an agent is a challenge that made me who I am today,” Summer shared, her words echoing with a sense of triumph.

“The trust and belief from so many to play a part in their stories, especially when it involves some of their largest financial investments, is truly an honor I do not take lightly,” Summer expressed, her voice tinged with gratitude.

As she navigates the ever-changing landscape of Dallas real estate, Summer’s unwavering commitment to excellence remains steadfast.

“Excellence is my word of the year, for my team and myself,” Summer declared, her eyes alight with determination. “Implementing it in every area of my life and business is my goal.” Continuing to double her business while better implementing the business side elements completes her vision for the future of her business.

Beyond her thriving real estate career, Summer finds joy in serving her community and nurturing her personal passions.

“Serving as volunteer staff at our church, Shoreline City, and being VP Communications on the FAN Club Board at Spanish World School are some of the ways I give back,” Summer revealed, her commitment to community shining through.

Summer’s family is her “everything”, as she and her husband, Allan, have been married almost 12 years. “He is my best friend, cheerleader and business partner,” Summer affirms. “We have two wonderful kids, Gemma (7) and Dallas (4), and our terrier mix dog, Olive. My family is my everything, and I am so grateful they are mine!”

It’s clear that for Summer Graham, real estate isn’t just a career—it’s a calling. A journey fueled by passion, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Summer’s story serves as an inspiration for aspiring real estate professionals and dreamers alike. In a world where transactions often overshadow the human element, Summer reminds us of the profound impact that can be made when passion meets purpose.

SUMMER HAS THIS WONDERFUL COMBINATION IN HER PERSONALITY OF CONFIDENCE AND JOY. She is dedicated and thorough, yet quick on her feet. Her ability to maintain the details while focusing on the big picture really serves Summer and her clients well.

THERE

IS A NAME IN THE FOUNDATION AND CONCRETE BUSINESS THAT HAS BECOME SYNONYMOUS WITH TRUST, EXPERTISE, AND LEADERSHIP IN THE INDUSTRY. AS THE CEO AND CO-OWNER OF FOUNDATION AND CONCRETE SERVICES (FCS), RODRIGO DUENAS IS A PROVEN PARTNER FOR REALTORS® AND HOMEOWNERS ALIKE WHEN IT COMES TO ENSURING A STRUCTURALLY SOUND HOME.

With 14 years of experience under his belt, Rodrigo’s journey into the world of construction was shaped by serendipity and collaboration. “Seventeen years ago, I owned a graphic design and web design business in Plano, TX,” Rodrigo shares. “It was through collaboration with Joaquin Vasquez, the founding partner of FCS, that I discovered the potential within the construction industry.” Driven by curiosity and a thirst for new challenges, Rodrigo transitioned from the realm of graphic design to the world of foundation and concrete work—working his way up from Joaquin’s assistant to co-owner of the business; a decision that would ultimately redefine his career trajectory.

FCS is a construction company that offers foundation repair, concrete flatwork, concrete structural work, drainage repair, excavation and plumbing repair for residential and commercial properties in the DFW metroplex area. “All of the services we provide meet or exceed the industry guidelines and 2021 IRC Code,” states Rodrigo.

“We specialize in complex structural repairs that your average foundation repair company cannot do, and also on historical home foundation repair restoration.”

At the core of FCS lies a team of dedicated professionals, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. Rodrigo is joined at the helm by Joaquin Vasquez, founding partner, mentor, and leader of the company. “He is the mastermind that started it all and the leader we have all relied on for many years,” states Rodrigo. Led by Senior Project Manager Ernesto Duenas with 16 years of experience, FCS also boasts several seasoned project managers, such as Jimmy Corona, Rafael, Raul Sanchez and Ricardo Piña. Combined with eight full-time crews and an experienced sales, administrative, and upper management team, FCS boasts a roster of talent unrivaled in the industry that can handle any project, big or small.

For Rodrigo, success isn’t just about achieving goals—it’s about strategic alliances,

the future, I aim to expand the business to San Antonio, Austin, and Houston. Our mission is to raise the standard in the industry through quality, craftsmanship, innovation, and service.”

Beyond the confines of business, Rodrigo finds relaxation and purpose in family and community. “I have a beautiful wife, Giresse, who I’ve been married to for 11 years, and two wonderful children, Nicole and Alexander,” Rodrigo shares. “As a family, we love traveling every year to different states and countries, learning together about different cultures and traditions.”

Driven by a vision of expansion and innovation, the team at FCS are driven by integrity and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Rodrigo’s legacy serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs and industry leaders alike—a reminder that with dedication and vision, anything is possible.

mentorship, and continual growth. “Strategically choosing the people that I surround myself with, finding mentors to guide and train me as I grow in the industry,” Rodrigo emphasizes. “Success can come masked sometimes, and it’s super important to slow down and cherish the special moments.”

As Rodrigo looks towards the future, his goals remain steadfast and ambitious. “For this year, my goal is to grow sales in FCS by at least 20% and take more market share in the DFW metroplex,” he reveals. “For

dedication to excellence, comprehensive knowledge of Park Cities and Preston Hollow real estate, and an extraordinary ability to locate the perfect home - these are defining attributes of Jackie Converse with Allie Beth Allman & Associates. Her commitment to effective communication and collaboration with homeowner clients enables her to understand their needs and goals, resulting in tailored marketing strategies that maximize exposure and drive results. With Jackie Converse at the helm, homeowners can trust that their properties are in expert hands, poised for success in the competitive real estate market.

Raised by parents who were prominent custom luxury home builders in Naples, FL, Jackie shares that dinner table conversation often focused on superior results derived from setting rigorous standards of design and construction. “Those standards were consistently modeled for me and became a critical part of my business skill development,” remarks Jackie.

A graduate of SMU, Jackie majored in business policy and marketing. College was not only a time of great academic endeavor but it was also a time of enriched friendships and the development of a large network of people with similar interests. One of her fondest memories was a summer of study in the south of France. “It was a rare opportunity to gain an appreciation for great architecture and design”, says Jackie.

Upon graduation, Jackie’s first job was with a large Texas law firm. Although her responsibilities centered on recruiting, she daily saw the impact of careful adherence to legal principles and meticulous research.

These foundational experiences served her well when she joined Republic Title Company in 2004. “All of the challenges to a smooth and successful closing are met preceding settlement at the title

company,” explains Jackie. The professional activities of her family had programmed Jackie to respond with skill and understanding. “I learned so much at Republic Title. I truly understand the intricacies of the entire closing process, which is a true asset to my clients,” she adds.

In 2014, Jackie joined Allie Beth Allman & Associates along with her mother, Linda Galli, who was already a highly successful REALTOR®. “Unofficially, I had been joining my mother on open houses since I was five years old when she was presenting new luxury homes,” recalls Jackie. “When I received my license, I joined her, and we worked as a team. With her decades of experience and knowledge and my Dallas network and professional background, we provided a rare level of service to buyers and sellers.”

Transitioning to a solo career in 2018, Jackie found herself facing a market with historically low inventory levels. Finding the perfect home for a client was incredibly difficult. But when Jackie sets a goal, develops a plan, and works to execute that plan, success is her result. “Then and now, it is important to know that with faith and patience, the right home can be found…and I WILL find it!” she exclaims.

Jackie Converse’s expertise extends beyond locating the perfect home; she excels in listing properties with precision and finesse. Drawing on her background in luxury home construction and her keen eye for design, Jackie approaches each listing with a strategic mindset, ensuring that every detail is meticulously curated to showcase the home’s unique features and appeal to potential buyers.

A single mom with two young sons, Jackie’s success is on two parallel tracks. “I love being a REALTOR® and helping clients achieve their real estate goals. When I began my real estate career, my boys were six and two. Ensuring that they have a comfortable, stable and happy home has always been my ‘North Star,’” says Jackie. Being in real estate full time while rearing two young sons requires a clear vision and discipline, both of which Jackie has in abundance. As her parents did for her, Jackie now sets the same example for her fine sons, who are now 16 and 12.

In addition to her skills in real estate, Jackie Converse is deeply committed to giving back to the community. She

actively sponsors events, volunteers her time, and participates in town citizen programs, embodying a spirit of service and civic engagement. “Volunteering in my sons’ schools has been incredibly rewarding,” remarks Jackie, highlighting her dedication to family and community. Whether lending a helping hand at local charity events or supporting initiatives that benefit the community, Jackie’s involvement reflects her genuine care for the well-being of others.

In Jackie Converse, clients find a dedicated real estate professional with a wealth of industry knowledge and a proven track record of success. With roots in luxury home construction and a robust background in business and law, she brings a unique perspective and unmatched expertise to every transaction.

Jackie’s remarkable journey from a supportive family environment to becoming a leader in the Park Cities and Preston Hollow real estate markets is a testament to her dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence. Whether guiding clients through the complexities of the market or balancing the demands of her professional and personal life, Jackie Converse exemplifies the epitome of success, both in business and in life.

MICHELLEEVANS

Michelle Evans, a seasoned REALTOR® with a decade of experience under her belt, loves real estate because of the relationships she builds and the dreams she fulfills, but most of all, she values her career because it enables her to enjoy what truly matters in life.

Michelle’s roots trace back to the Piney Woods of East Texas, where she grew up as a Longview Lobo, surrounded by the simple joys of nature and community. “We rode horses, hung out around bonfires in pastures, played sports, and made music,” she fondly reminisces about her childhood. After college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, she found her way to Fort Worth in 2004, where she began her career in marketing and visual design.

But it wasn’t until 2007 that Michelle embarked on her journey in real estate. Despite being a coach and full-time teacher at the time, she recognized her passion for helping people find their place in the world. “I love helping people,” she affirms, emphasizing her deep-rooted commitment to service, which she attributes to her background as an educator and coach.

For Michelle, the most rewarding part of her business isn’t just about closing transactions as a personal real estate agent; it’s about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives who otherwise might think homeownership isn’t possible. “I deal primarily with owner finance clients who, more often than not, without a chance at one of our homes, wouldn’t qualify,” she

explains, highlighting her involvement in an investment team called Surety Family Acquisitions that provides opportunities for homeownership to those in need.

Yet, amidst the joys of helping others, Michelle acknowledges the challenges that come with the territory. “I get emotionally attached,” she admits, reflecting on the sleepless nights spent worrying about her clients’ dreams and aspirations. But it’s precisely this empathy and dedication that set her apart in the industry, making her a trusted ally for those navigating the real estate market.

For Michelle, success isn’t just measured in transactions closed or accolades earned; it’s about finding balance and fulfillment in both personal and professional endeavors. “Being successful is providing for my family while having the flexibility to go to holiday parties with my kiddos or stay home when one is sick,” she articulates, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing her family amidst her career.

However, life’s journey is not without its trials. In 2017, Michelle faced a devastating loss with the passing of her little brother. “It derailed me in every facet of life,” she shares, reflecting on the profound impact of grief on her journey. Yet, through the pain and heartache, she finds solace in cherishing his memory and embracing each day as a gift.

FOR THE LOVE OF REAL ESTATE

Written by: Katherine H. Fondren Photos by: Jin Kim, URSPECIAL agent spotlight

Michelle is the epitome of being servant hearted. She pours herself into each client she is helping, she’s a great communicator, and the best I’ve been around with regards to problem solving when things don’t go perfect.

-JEREMY MALES, BROKER, NADA HOMES

Michelle’s family holds a central place in her life, providing love, support, and endless joy. Married for thirteen years, she and her husband share three incredible children, bonus daughter Averie, 18, daughter Lila, 12, and her son, Wyatt, age 9. “We play all the sports, love to be outdoors, and be active,” says Michelle. “We have more than a normal amount of animals, and we like to keep it that way,” along with a menagerie of animals that add vibrancy to their home, painting a picture of a life filled with love and laughter.

Outside of her bustling real estate career, Michelle finds joy in a myriad of hobbies and interests, from soccer and cooking to music and travel. But amidst the whirlwind of activities, she remains grounded in her commitment to kindness and compassion, both in her professional endeavors and personal relationships.

As she looks ahead to the future, Michelle’s goals extend beyond individual success; they encompass the collective growth and impact of her investment team. “Our goal this year is to grow the investment fund, called Passive Progress, we use for our owner financed homes to $25 million,” she shares, highlighting her dedication to expanding opportunities for homeownership and making a positive difference in her community. “Those funds make it possible for our company, Surety Family Acquisitions, to buy more homes, provide a deeper pool of owner finance properties for buyers, and grow our investor’s portfolios.”

Through her unwavering dedication to service, resilience in the face of adversity, and commitment to family, Michelle Evans exemplifies the true essence of a REALTOR® with a heart of gold. In a world where transactions often overshadow human connections, she stands as an example of warmth and compassion, bridging hearts and homes and doing what she loves in Dallas real estate.
