On April 9th, the day after the solar eclipse, I walked into the house after coming home from a video shoot. Our puppy, Bear, whom we rescued one week earlier, jumped up on me and peed all over the floor in excitement. As I walked from the entry of the house to the kitchen, I noticed that Jess was playing music, and the song that was playing was “our song,” which is “Biblical” by Calum Scott.
I entered the kitchen and saw Jess covering her face, which looked like she had been crying. “What’s the matter?” I said to her with great concern. She didn’t say a word; she just looked down. I didn’t even realize that she had boy/girl balloons, a diaper, a baby onesie, and a positive pregnancy test lying on the counter right in front of me. I guess I’m your stereotypical dude who can’t seem to see things that are right in plain sight. I’ll look in the fridge to find the ketchup, search all over with zero success, call for Jess’ help, and within two seconds, she will pluck the ketchup bottle out of the fridge. I think this is common among males, and I now refer to it as “man eyes.” Nevertheless, I digress.
“You’re lying,” I said. “No, you’re lying,” I repeated with a crack in my voice. Jess and I had been trying for seven months. I know seven months isn’t a super long
time, but when it comes to getting pregnant, it sure seems like it when you so badly want to be parents! Plus, everyone around us seemed to be getting pregnant, most seemingly with ease. Our best friends went on their honeymoon and basically came back pregnant.
“You’re going to be a daddy!” Jess said to me after a long, tear-filled embrace. At that moment, it hit me. “Oh, that is right! You being pregnant means I am going to be a dad!” I thought to myself. I laugh when I think back on that moment. I obviously truly knew that’s what it meant, but I didn’t internalize it until she said that.
A few weeks later, we took the “Sneak Peek” test and discovered we were having a girl! Her due date is December 23, 2024. A Christmas baby! If anyone has had Christmastime babies and has successfully navigated gifts/ parties during the holiday…we welcome your advice!
God answered a massive prayer for us and we are so incredibly grateful. The Espeseth family is growing! I wonder if she will be a REALTOR® one day...stay tuned!

In the real estate market of North Fort Worth, one name stands out for her dedication and genuine passion for people—Alexandra Heard. With a career just shy of three years, Alexandra has already made a significant impact, not just through her transactions, but through her heartfelt connections with clients and her community.
As part of Lily Moore Realty, Alexandra’s journey is a testament to her love for people and her deep-seated passion for real estate.
“I want to see people win!” Alexandra declares, her enthusiasm palpable. “I love educating people, understanding their needs and desires, and helping them set up goals and actually reach them. Being a confidante, if I don’t have the answer or solution, I will know where to find it!” This intrinsic motivation to uplift others has been a constant throughout her diverse career, from social services to executive assistance and recruiting, before she found her true calling in real estate.
Alexandra’s roots trace back to a small town in North Georgia, 45 minutes north of Atlanta. “I grew up pretty shy and reserved, very close to my family— parents, grandparents, sibling, and cousins,” she recalls. Despite her initial shyness, her tight-knit family fostered an environment of support and encouragement. “We constantly lift each other up, support one another, and cheer each other on. I believe I
inherited my entrepreneurial spirit from my immediate family; both my mom and sister run successful online resale businesses.”
Her move to Texas was both a leap of faith and a fresh start. “Relocating to Texas and starting over was incredibly challenging. I had no friends, family, or familiarity with the neighborhoods. Embracing this opportunity to learn and grow in a new environment was daunting, but it ultimately made me more resilient and resourceful,” Alexandra reflects. Within four months of her move, she secured her real estate license and embarked on a journey that would soon become her passion.
For Alexandra, real estate is more than just a career—it’s a calling. “I’m incredibly passionate about the opportunity to connect with new people and guide them through the exciting journey of buying or selling their home. It’s not just about the transaction; it’s about empowering my clients with knowledge and ensuring they know their rights,” she explains. This client-centered approach has led to countless rewarding moments, from witnessing the joy of first-time buyers to helping military families find supportive communities.
Managing client expectations, however, remains one of her biggest challenges. “Each client has unique needs and dreams, and
sometimes aligning those with the realities of the market can be challenging. It’s about finding the balance between being a supportive guide and setting realistic expectations,” she says. Her ability to navigate these challenges with grace and empathy is a testament to her skill and dedication.
A defining aspect of Alexandra’s success is her commitment to continuous learning and growth. “Every transaction teaches me something new, from negotiation skills to market trends, which benefits my clients and sharpens my abilities as an investor and businessperson,” she notes. Her proactive approach to professional development ensures she remains at the forefront of the industry, always ready to serve her clients with the latest knowledge and insights.
When asked about her favorite part of being a realtor, Alexandra lights up. “No two days are the same, which keeps things exciting. From meeting new clients and touring homes to negotiating deals and solving problems, the variety keeps me engaged and constantly learning,” she shares. This dynamic nature of real estate fuels her passion, driving her to make a positive impact on her clients’ lives.
Success, for Alexandra, is about more than just financial achievements. “To me, success is building a legacy and creating a life that will outlive you. It’s about continuous growth and improvement, making a positive impact on
others’ lives, setting goals, and celebrating the milestones, both small and large,” she emphasizes. This holistic view of success permeates every aspect of her work, ensuring that her clients not only achieve their real estate goals but also feel genuinely cared for throughout the process.
Outside of her professional life, Alexandra enjoys a rich array of hobbies, from playing board games to traveling and attending live concerts. “I went to the Beyoncé and Jay-Z concert with my, at the time, 81-year-old grandmother,” she recalls with a smile. Her love for life and her community is evident in every story she shares, from supporting local farmer markets to attending sporting events.
As Alexandra looks to the future, her goals are clear. She aims to expand her client base, enhance her professional skills, and deepen her community involvement. “I want to be a major connector, both in business and personal life. If you come in contact with me and have a need, I want to be able to connect you with the right person, people, or team,” she says with determination.
In the realm of real estate, Alexandra Heard is not just a realtor—she is a model of compassion, dedication, and unwavering support. Her journey is a testament to the power of passion and the profound impact one person can have on the lives of many. As she continues to build her legacy, Alexandra’s story will undoubtedly inspire others to pursue their dreams with the same fervor and commitment.
“Alex is an absolute professional dedicated to exceeding client expectations. With a deep understanding of the market and a genuine passion for helping people find their dream homes, Alex consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every transaction is seamless and successful.”

TThere is always more than one approach to a golf shot. The golfer must assess the landscape, the wind direction, and the club selection to make it to the hole in the quickest, most efficient way possible. In the same way, a skilled mortgage broker like Nick Drescher of Edge Home Finance evaluates the vast array of loan options, market conditions, and client needs to execute the perfect play. With precision and finesse, Nick guides his clients through the often complex mortgage process, ensuring that every step is as calculated and precise as a golfer lining up a pivotal shot. Whether he’s navigating through interest rate fluctuations or aligning financial documentation, his strategic approach ensures each client is positioned to make their best move.
Nick’s roots trace back to the heartland of Wisconsin, but it was his mother’s success in the mortgage industry that eventually led him to DFW. “She was the #1 branch manager for a major wholesaler in the smallest market in the U.S.,” Nick explains. “We took a leap of faith as a family, and my single mom, brother, and I moved to a state where we didn’t have family or friends so she could take a job opportunity that moved us to McKinney, TX. It was the best decision we could hope for as a family.” Fast forward to today, and Nick’s mother has been in the mortgage industry for 30+ years. “My mother worked long and hard hours in the mortgage industry to give me and my younger brother the best opportunities. She put us through college and created a work ethic that transferred to me and my brother,” Nick continues.
After a successful stint in the corporate world, including prestigious positions at Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and Charles Schwab, Nick found himself at a crossroads. “I had an opportunity to move to New York and actually assisted with a relocation for 6 months back and forth to the Big Apple,” he recalls. “But my dreams changed.”
It was a pivotal moment that would set the course for Nick’s future. “My brother was in mortgage already, and things were starting to turn around from the 2008 financial crisis,” he explains. “I thought about my goals of having a family, and it didn’t fit my vision living in NY.”
Then when Nick finally met his wife, Sarah, his life and goals were changed forever. “I valued my family, and I wanted to be the best husband and father to my three kids, and being independent allowed me
to be more involved in my kids’ activities and my community,” Nick explains.
Thus began Nick’s journey into the mortgage industry—a journey fueled by a passion for finance and a desire to help families achieve their dreams of homeownership.
“Owning a primary residence is one of the most valuable assets in US households,” Nick emphasizes. “The pure joy of families at the closing table and moving in as a first-time homebuyer, newlyweds, new additions, etc., is just pure joy to be a part of.” Slowly but surely, Nick began to develop strong relationships with his clients. “Relationship over the transaction,” he emphasizes,
a business philosophy he has come to live by.
But Nick’s approach to mortgage brokering goes beyond numbers and deals. With a background in finance and a deep understanding of the industry, he’s committed to providing his clients with a personalized experience that goes above and beyond expectations. Using a mortgage broker offers numerous benefits, making it an excellent choice for securing the best mortgage terms. Brokers operate independently from lenders, shopping with over 100 lenders that want Nick’s continued business, and as a result, he can get tough loans to the finish line. They
are experts in the mortgage market and dedicate their efforts to finding you the most competitive rates and terms. This expertise can save you significant amounts of money and effort as brokers handle the negotiation and paperwork, streamlining the process for you. “As a mortgage broker, we can approve certain mortgages for qualified borrowers that bigger banks won’t,” Nick explains. “This is because major banks approve loans by screening a large number of applicants with very strict guidelines. Mortgage brokers have lenders that offer a more flexible approach and work effectively with many borrowers who need extra support or guidance.”
Furthermore, brokers are motivated to serve you well, as their business depends on client satisfaction and referrals. They stay informed about daily changes in the mortgage market and lender preferences, which can greatly influence the conditions of your mortgage. Essentially, brokers do not just work to get you a loan; they work to get you the right loan, making them invaluable in the complex mortgage landscape.
For Nick, success isn’t just about closing deals—it’s about building lasting relationships and leaving a legacy of excellence. “Success is when your children want to be you when they are adults,” he reflects. “The most cool thing I have ever been called in my entire life is Dad, and I always say ‘lead by example.’”
Outside of the office, Nick finds relaxation and rejuvenation on the fairways of Trophy Club Country Club.
“It’s my selfish four-hour mental break. The attraction to the challenge of the game, the opportunity to spend time outdoors, and the social aspect of playing with others—it’s all part of the allure.”
But amidst the hustle and bustle of work and play, Nick’s unwavering dedication to family remains the cornerstone of his life. “I met my wonderful, beautiful wife, Sarah, in Uptown Dallas, and 10 years later, we ended up in our small town in a big city, Trophy Club, TX,” he says. “We have 3 children, Jordan (5), Cooper (4), and Natalie (2), and Sarah has her own woman- owned certified business in promotion products and sales
called Intuitive Brand Solutions. Time management is of utmost importance, especially with Jordan and Cooper starting sports (soccer and golf), while Natalie is just being a fan for now and making sure her presence is felt among the boys.”
With his eyes set on the future, Nick remains committed to his goals of growth, education, and community engagement.
“My goal this year is to continue to gain a few more solid REALTOR® partnerships,” he shares. “I want to continue to educate clients and REALTORS® of the power of using a mortgage broker. I want to be a support tool for REALTORS®, helping them grow their businesses. Every morning, before the rest of my household wakes up, I drive to get my Starbucks, motivated to get a head start either sending out emails, reading articles, working on my weekly newsletter, or a crafty social media post. If anyone ever wanted to have coffee or play a round of golf to plan a strategy to grow together, I would love to connect!”
With nearly 10 years in the industry, Nick Drescher stands out as a seasoned pro, poised to navigate even the most challenging situations. Just as a golfer meticulously considers every aspect of the play, Nick carefully assesses loan options, market trends, and individual client circumstances to craft the best possible financial strategies. His precision and attention to detail ensure that each client’s journey through mortgage decisions is smooth and well-calculated and every move is a step toward success.

The Dallas/Fort Worth real estate industry has a REALTOR® whose passion for helping others find their happy place is as vibrant as the city itself. Meet Michelle Montemayor, the founder of M&M Realty Group, a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional service with hustle and heart. Michelle’s journey to success is a testament to her ability to exceed her client’s expectations while helping them navigate the market with unparalleled confidence and expertise.
Originally from Long Island, New York, Michelle found her home in Texas nearly two decades ago. As the youngest of three and the only girl, her early years were a combination of standing her ground and charming her way through challenges. This unique blend of resilience and grace ignited her passion for understanding and connecting with people on a meaningful level.
Michelle’s degrees in criminal justice and political science at Quinnipiac University, followed by an MBA from the University of Dallas, equipped her with a robust business acumen. Additionally, her role as director of operations in the medical field further honed her skills in structure, strategy, and, most importantly, empathy.
IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT A CAREER CHANGE; IT’S ABOUT FOLLOWING MY PASSION FOR HELPING PEOPLE WHILE EDUCATING THEM ALONG THE WAY.
Her journey into real estate was unique. It started with weekend activities—investing in properties, managing her own rental properties, fixing them up, and teaching others to do the same. Michelle realized that real estate was more than just a hobby; it was her true calling. “It’s not just about a career change; it’s about following my passion for helping people while educating them along the way,” she explains.
Before diving into real estate, Michelle’s professional journey included roles as a probation officer, legal assistant, and consultant in the criminal justice and healthcare sectors. These experiences provided her invaluable insights into client management, negotiation, and problem-solving—skills she now applies daily in real estate.
Michelle says, “I thrive on turning complex situations into a smooth, positive journey for each client by leveraging cutting-edge data-driven market insights and tailoring our services to meet their unique needs.”
For Michelle, the most rewarding part of her business is witnessing the joy on her client’s faces at the closing table. “There’s nothing quite like it,” she says. “Every successful closing is a victory, knowing that we played a part in creating these joyful milestones. Real estate isn’t just my career; it’s my passion and a profound part of my life. Every day, I get to help people navigate one of the
biggest decisions of their lives—selling, buying, or investing in a home.”
Her dedication to her clients goes beyond closing deals—it’s about creating meaningful, lasting relationships and ensuring each client walks away more than satisfied. When asked how she defines success, she replies, “If your clients are not referring their friends and family and inviting you to Thanksgiving dinner, did you really do your job?”
Michelle’s diverse professional background and her unwavering commitment to her clients set her apart in the real estate world. Michelle says. “I’ve always had the passion and drive but now with a dedicated team of professionals, we strive to serve our clients at the highest level while maintaining the relationships that built our business.”
“My goal is to be remembered as someone who not only excelled in their professional life but truly enhanced the lives of others along the way,” Michelle shares. “Whether through my real estate transactions, charities we help, or simply daily interactions.”
As Michelle looks to the future, she is dedicated to growing her business and nurturing her team. Her goal is to mentor her team to become great agents who provide exceptional service that meets the evolving needs of their clients. Michelle believes, “if you have hustle and heart, I can teach the rest”. She cherishes the DFW area not just as a workplace but as a beloved community, and she is excited to see its continued evolution and growth.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Michelle enjoys exploring local hiking trails, museums, and amusement parks and cherishes her time with
her family. As a mother of two young daughters and a bonus mom to two more, Michelle strives to be a positive role model, demonstrating the value of hard work, integrity, and a balanced life. She describes her family as her anchor and joy, the driving force behind everything she does. Over the
past year, they designed, built, and moved into their dream home, and the kids are loving their first summer there. She considers herself incredibly fortunate to have the best job in the world, “I am so blessed to have a career in making people happy and helping their dreams come true, there is nothing better than that.”

In the metroplex, there’s a REALTOR® whose passion for service and love for people shines as bright as the Texas sun. Meet Denise LaManna, a seasoned professional with 15 years of experience in the real estate industry. While her story began among the natural beauty of the American Southwest, her successful career in real estate was forged in the neighborhoods of Dallas and Fort Worth. She is an example of how small-town values can translate into big-city success.
Denise’s story begins in the small town of Portales, New Mexico, where she was born. Her family soon moved to Texas, where she grew up in Denton and cherished summers visiting her grandparents’ farm in Bowie, Texas. “These summers spent on the farm are where I found my love for nature and family, both of which are still a big part of who I am today,” she reminisces. After graduating from Denton HS, Denise attended UNT for her undergraduate studies and later earned an MBA from LeTourneau University. She then embarked on a career in corporate marketing before taking a hiatus to raise her children.
In April 2009, inspired by a push from the founder of her current brokerage, Denise discovered her calling in real estate—a decision fueled by her
deep-seated desire to serve others and build lasting relationships. “I am deeply committed to providing exceptional service to my clients—it’s more than just a real estate transaction to me,” she explains. “It’s about building relationships, fostering trust, showing compassion, and maintaining a commitment to excellence in everything I do.”
One of the most recent, rewarding aspects of Denise’s business is her dedication to helping seniors downsize—a passion born out of personal experience. “My father, who is 89, is living with dementia, and we had to make the difficult decision to move my parents from their forever home to a smaller, more manageable space about four years ago,” she shares. “This personal journey, combined with growing client needs to downsize due to aging, empty nesting, and other life changes, has inspired me to provide a full-service program aimed to serve as their trusted advocate throughout this crucial transition.”
For Denise, success isn’t just measured in dollars and cents—it’s about the relationships she builds and the lives she impacts along the way. “Walking away from the closing table with satisfied clients and knowing I’ve given my all is what truly matters
to me,” she emphasizes. “It’s not just about the financial aspect; it’s about the relationships and ensuring my clients have made a well-informed decision. Completing the journey to closing is incredibly fulfilling for me.”
Despite some challenges she’s faced, Denise remains steadfast in her commitment to her clients and community. “Real estate, for me, is a platform to express my passion for serving others and building genuine relationships,” she declares. “This business perfectly aligns with my dreams and goals, allowing me to grow incrementally, impact lives, and share my love for DFW and the wonderful people I meet along the way, all while strategically managing my time and direction.”
Amid her success, Denise stays grounded through her faith and the support of her family—a source of love and joy. “My husband Michael and I have been married for 31 years. We have two amazing adult children whom we are incredibly proud of.”
Outside her bustling real estate career, she finds joy in health and fitness. “Exercise isn’t just about staying in shape; it’s a mental refuge for me,” she says. “I’ve done various exercises over the years, from running to CrossFit, and now I enjoy trail walking and my Peloton.” She also loves traveling to the mountains. “Being outdoors in nature allows me to decompress and reflect on the many blessings in my life.”
In a city as dynamic and diverse as North Fort Worth, Denise LaManna stands out not only as a REALTOR® but as an inspiration of integrity, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her clients and community. With her genuine love for people, steadfast faith, and relentless pursuit of excellence, she’s carving out a legacy that will impact many and endure for years to come, guided by her faith and authenticity. As she continues to make her mark on the North Fort Worth real estate landscape, one thing is certain—Denise LaManna will continue to shine bright.

David Russell stands out in the North Fort Worth real estate industry, not just for his extensive experience but for his dedication to service that goes beyond mere transactions. With a career spanning 17 years and a background as diverse as his skills, David has firmly established himself as a cornerstone of the local real estate community.
Born and raised in Northwest Indiana, David’s early years were marked by a commitment to service, a path that led
him to the United States Air Force. Post-military, David’s journey took him through various leadership roles—from managing call centers to directing operations in business-to-business wholesale—before he found his calling in real estate in 2006. Transitioning during the tumultuous times of the market bust, he quickly adapted and thrived, becoming a top producer at Ebby Halliday, Las Colinas, and consistently earning accolades in D Magazine, among other honors.
David’s approach to real estate is deeply personal and client-focused. “At this stage, it’s about assisting homeowners with getting the most money in the least amount of time,” David explains. His passion for the industry is evident as he speaks about the relationships he’s cultivated over the years, “The friends I’ve made are by far the most rewarding part of this business.”
David is not unfamiliar with challenges, from maintaining a robust pipeline to personal trials, like managing his business while supporting his wife through a severe health crisis. Yet, these challenges have only strengthened his resolve and commitment to his clients. “Continuing to process transactions and deliver a high level of service during my wife’s recovery from emergency brain surgery was particularly tough,” he shares, underscoring his dedication to both his family and his clients.
David’s philosophy centers on integrity and contribution. “I come from a place of contribution. With buyers, it’s about counseling, not selling. With sellers, it’s honest, sincere pricing and prepping conversations,” he states. This client-first approach, combined with his vast experience and personal integrity, sets him apart in a competitive field.
Beyond real estate, David’s life is full of activity. He is a proud family man with two sons, ages 30 and 31, soon-to-be two grandsons, and a granddaughter, who is three weeks old. His hobbies include hunting and motorcycle riding, though he admits, “I’m mostly just a real estate geek.” His advice to burgeoning real estate professionals is a reflection of his own practices: “Manage your time and schedule effectively, and always strive to provide genuine value.”
David’s story is more than just a tale of personal success; it’s a blueprint for professional integrity, resilience, and unwavering dedication. As he continues to impact the real estate market in North Fort Worth, his legacy is defined by more than just sales—it’s measured by the lives he touches and the community he builds. For David, real estate is not just a career; it’s a way to make a lasting difference in people’s lives, one home at a time.
