Real Producers Events are

CHANGING

Over the years, our DFW Real Producers event structure has changed. A few things, however, have, and will, always remain the same. One example is who gets invited, and has access, to our events. Our events are only for the Top 500 Producing Agents and our Real Producers Vetted Business Partners. Top 500 Agents can invite the agents on their team to join them at these events if they want to, and we may send invites to agents that were just outside of the Top 500 for the year to have them take a peek behind the curtain, and to additionally motivate them to make this desirable list next year!

The businesses that partner with us have been vetted by the top agents, and the Real Producers team, to ensure they are of the highest quality; these businesses are the ones that invest in our community and truly make this platform possible. For those reasons, we do not give access to outside businesses to our events. Keeping the integrity of what this community is remains very important to us, which is a community of the best of the best that honors and respects one another.

When Real Producers started, we did four events a year per magazine. These events were always high-level social events, and they were awesome. After a couple of years, I wanted to add some variety to the mix. As we expanded from one publication to four, it has allowed us to create an exciting event structure that you won’t find in any other Real Producers community around the country.

Now, we have increased the number of events that we do each year, and we have four different types of events:

1) Social Events

2) Magazine Celebration Events (only for those featured in the

magazines and select businesses) 3) RP Vetted Business Socials (only for our partners) 5) The ESPE Awards (our black-tie awards gala). The ESPE Awards is being moved from November to April and will return in 2025. This October, we will have what I am calling a Super Social that will include all four Real Producers territories in DFW. I am thinking we may have a costume party at that event!

Besides the ESPE Awards, or this year’s Super Social, most events are specific to each publication, like the North Dallas Real Producers Top 500 Agents and RP Vetted Businesses’ only specific events.

These events are special, and it is because of the people that are in the room. It truly is rare and an honor for us to be able to host these events for you all.

From everyone on our DFW Real Producers Team, we thank you for your continued support and for making Real Producers the number one real estate community in DFW.

Up for the Challenge Harris Caroline

Caroline Harris, the dynamic force behind Onyx Realty Group, has a real estate career that is a tale of two cities. As we unravel the layers of her journey, it is clear that her story is not just about selling homes; it’s a narrative of resilience, faith, and the spirit of a woman who has weathered life’s storms with grace and determination.

Caroline’s roots trace back to Oklahoma City, where she was born into a family with a deep-seated legacy in real estate. “I come from a long line of REALTORS® with over 55 years of combined experience,” she shared. It’s evident that her familial ties laid the groundwork for her eventual foray into the real estate world.

Caroline graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s of business administration degree in accounting. While at OU, she pursued her dream of becoming a collegiate cheerleader. “Balancing collegiate cheerleading and attending the OU Business School was no easy task, but it was a great foundation for understanding the true meaning of hard work and dedication,” she commented.

Her journey wasn’t a linear path from academia to real estate. Caroline’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to Amarillo, where she founded a successful competitive cheerleading and tumbling business. Little did she know that life would throw unexpected challenges her way.

While on vacation in Phoenix, AZ, her strength was put to the ultimate test when her son, Hank, was born prematurely at only 27 weeks. “He weighed a mere 1 pound 9 ounces,” Caroline recounted. The journey that followed included a 3.5-month stay in the NICU, numerous medical procedures, and the doctors’ warnings of potential handicaps. Yet, Caroline’s unwavering faith in God paved the way for Hank’s miraculous recovery. Today, Hank is a vibrant and healthy 18-year-old.

that I would hit the ground running from day one, so much so that I made the bold decision to put in my two-week notice the day before I even took the real estate exam. Thankfully, I passed on the first try.” Fortunately, her prior work and community connections helped her to skyrocket in the real estate industry in Amarillo.

“After six years of success in my real estate ventures in Amarillo, I encountered another obstacle upon relocating to the Dallas/Fort Worth area with my family,” she recounted. The move presented a fresh set of challenges, as she had to rebuild her business in a new market. Nevertheless, Caroline’s positive outlook and determination positioned her for success once again. She approached her new situation with her trademark determination, stating, “I was up for the challenge!”

In 2020, Caroline founded Onyx Realty Group with her best friend and colleague, Ellen Dunn, to preserve her business in Amarillo while establishing a foothold in the competitive DFW real estate market. The duo’s well-established relationships in both areas facilitated a seamless transition, with Ellen eventually joining Caroline in the metroplex in 2022. Despite their current base in DFW, Caroline and Ellen have actively participated in the Amarillo real estate market by forging partnerships with top-notch agents in the region.

After thirteen years, she faced a crossroads—selling her thriving cheer and tumbling business to embark on a new adventure. “After my divorce, I sold those companies and went back into the workforce at a wealth management firm to get health insurance for myself and my son. He was on an expensive medication due to his complications at birth,” she revealed. In the face of adversity, Caroline found herself not just reinventing her career but also rebuilding her life as a single mother.

While working at the wealth management firm, Caroline was busy studying for her real estate exam. She smiled as she told us, “I made up my mind

Her family is the central part of her life. She met Vincent Matteson, a luxury home builder, when Hank was 7 years old. Vinnie also had a 17-year-old son, Sawyer. “Watching Vinnie help raise Hank and seeing their bond has been one of my greatest joys. I was also super blessed to get such a great bonus son. We enjoy being outdoors, traveling to the mountains or the beach, eating out (we are foodies!), riding on our pontoon boat on the lake, and simply spending time together playing games or watching movies,” she shared. She loves that she and Vinnie have similar life goals. Getting to represent him as a builder has been a great way for them to bond and combine their interests.

Caroline’s commitment to her family extends to her approach to real estate. “My goal is to work diligently, ensuring that my family feels valued and

recognizes their significance in my life,” she stated. This dedication to a harmonious worklife balance underscores her broader definition of success, where family and professional achievements coalesce.

“The most rewarding part of my business has been the flexibility of working for myself and having control over my own time,” Caroline expressed. This autonomy has allowed her business to flourish, doubling in size within a year with the assistance of her licensed transaction coordinator, Melissa Popolo. The decision to leverage her business and hire Melissa proved pivotal, enabling Caroline to focus on acquiring more clients and expanding her reach.

Born in Fort Worth and later relocating to Hurst, Sherri’s childhood was molded by humble beginnings. She recalls, “I came from a poor family, and they did not have the money to send me to college.” Despite financial constraints, Sherri carved her path through Tarrant County College while working full-time. A detour into the world of finance led her to Houston, where she managed a branch for Finance America.

However, her heart always belonged to the world of residential construction and interior design. Influenced by her uncle and grandfather, who were builders, Sherri’s childhood memories involve being part of construction sites, scraping stickers off windows, and witnessing homes come to life. Despite aspiring to be an architect and interior designer, societal expectations nudged her in a different direction.

“I got my real estate license in 1985 through Champions Real Estate in Houston, and also became a volunteer on a Houston Task Force called the

Neighborhood Revitalization Program,” Sherri explains. Her journey took her through roles as a loss mitigator, asset manager, and even to New Jersey with the Resolution Trust Corporation.

In 1997, Sherri returned to Texas, settling in Keller, and explored the mortgage industry before finding her true calling in real estate. As she resumed selling full-time, Sherri’s passion for the industry grew, fueled by a desire to educate younger agents. “Being older, I see so many younger REALTORS® that just don’t have the experience that I have. I have found this past year that educating the younger agents and helping them grow from the knowledge I have is very rewarding!” she exclaims.

For Sherri, the most rewarding aspect of her business is the relationships forged with clients. “They are like family to me. We have become friends, and I love them all dearly,” she expresses. Her clients’ care extends beyond transactions, with calls or texts just to check on her

well-being – a rarity in today’s fastpaced world.

As a REALTOR®, Sherri’s biggest challenge is not slowing down. Her passion for the job, which doesn’t feel like work, often leads to 14-18 hour days. Yet, it’s the joy of serving others that keeps her going. “Success for me is a smile, a hug, and a thank you. That is when I know I did my job,” she defines success with a focus on the relationships built during the journey.

Sherri’s life has seen its share of challenges, from a difficult divorce in New Jersey to starting afresh in Texas. In 2015, she faced another challenging divorce, leaving her with only clothes and a car. “I slowly rebuilt my life from nothing,” she recounts. The pivotal decision to jump into real estate sales without a safety net was a testament to her resilience. “I prayed on it, and every direction I turned, I saw a sign that told me that is where I needed to be. So, I walked in on a Monday morning and told them I was literally jumping off a cliff without a

parachute, or a net to catch me, that there was no Plan B, so I had to succeed!” Within 45 days, she closed her first transaction and surpassed her goal by $6 Million that year.

In terms of recognition, Sherri’s achievements are noteworthy. In 2022, she earned the Coldwell Banker Realty International Diamond Society accolade and secured spots in various local and global rankings. Her dedication is further acknowledged by being named Top Producer in both 360 West Magazine in 2022 and Fort Worth Magazine in 2023. Sherri’s dedication to her career is reflected in her career volume, just under $24 million, and her continual pursuit of growth and knowledge.

Sherri’s family is an integral part of her life. With three children, a daughter-in-law soon to be a pilot, and three grandchildren, family remains a cornerstone of her happiness. “My oldest is married and lives in Los Colinas, and I have three beautiful grandchildren from them, ages 20, 8, and 2. I have a son who is a veteran and is now a pilot with Delta, and his beautiful wife will also soon be a pilot; they live in Fort Myers, Florida. He got his license, and then we welcomed my brother-in-law to the pack! He had just retired from teaching and coaching after 30 years.”

Beyond the realm of real estate, Tammy has a variety of interests, including traveling, food, and hosting community events. “We host about seven events a year. Our largest event is Bingo. We have around 400-600 players each time. This event helped

put me on the map in my area. Our second largest is our Santa Parade,” shared Tammy. She is also an ardent dog lover and bakes almost every day. “I am also licensed for Baldwin County in Alabama and specialize in vacation properties!” adds Tammy.

The kids all help me with Mission Moms, a charity that helps feed insecure kids in Denton ISD. As a family, we enjoy visiting great restaurants together, finding fun things in DFW to do as a family, and sometimes just enjoying the rare opportunity when we are all actually home together for Sunday night family dinner. My family is the #1 reason I started this business.” In addition, Heather is deeply involved in giving back to her community, from serving on the board of Mission Moms to raising money for local schools and other charities. “We truly love giving back and find true joy in doing this,” Heather affirms, underscoring her commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those around her.
