Real Producers Events are

CHANGING

Over the years, our DFW Real Producers event structure has changed. A few things, however, have, and will, always remain the same. One example is who gets invited, and has access, to our events. Our events are only for the Top 500 Producing Agents and our Real Producers Vetted Business Partners. Top 500 Agents can invite the agents on their team to join them at these events if they want to, and we may send invites to agents that were just outside of the Top 500 for the year to have them take a peek behind the curtain, and to additionally motivate them to make this desirable list next year!

The businesses that partner with us have been vetted by the top agents, and the Real Producers team, to ensure they are of the highest quality; these businesses are the ones that invest in our community and truly make this platform possible. For those reasons, we do not give access to outside businesses to our events. Keeping the integrity of what this community is remains very important to us, which is a community of the best of the best that honors and respects one another.

When Real Producers started, we did four events a year per magazine. These events were always high-level social events, and they were awesome. After a couple of years, I wanted to add some variety to the mix. As we expanded from one publication to four, it has allowed us to create an exciting event structure that you won’t find in any other Real Producers community around the country.

Now, we have increased the number of events that we do each year, and we have four different types of

events: 1) Social Events 2) Magazine Celebration Events (only for those featured in the magazines and select businesses) 3) RP Vetted Business Socials (only for our partners) 5) The ESPE Awards (our black-tie awards gala). The ESPE Awards is being moved from November to April and will return in 2025. This October, we will have what I am calling a Super Social that will include all four Real Producers territories in DFW. I am thinking we may have a costume party at that event!

Besides the ESPE Awards, or this year’s Super Social, most events are specific to each publication, like the North Dallas Real Producers Top 500 Agents and RP Vetted Businesses’ only specific events.

These events are special, and it is because of the people that are in the room. It truly is rare and an honor for us to be able to host these events for you all.

From everyone on our DFW Real Producers Team, we thank you for your continued support and for making Real Producers the number one real estate community in DFW.

I’ve expanded into acquiring rental properties, flipping long-term rentals, and land development.

Looking ahead 5 years, where do you see yourself? What are you most excited about?

I see myself as a land developer and building homes. Our team will be a $10 million sales team that will run by a director of operations.

A Journey of Resilience and Adaptability

Angel’s journey to real estate began far from Texas, in the bustling streets of Hong Kong.

Raised in a family that valued hard work and kindness, she excelled in English and nurtured a deep passion for learning. Her path led her to the University of Northern Iowa, where she worked three campus jobs while maintaining a full schedule to graduate as quickly as possible. “I graduated before I turned 21,” explains Angel. “Working those three jobs really taught me a lot.” While she was in school, however, fate intervened when she crossed paths with Chris, now her husband of 22 years.

Chris, hailing from Des Moines, Iowa, had his own share of challenges growing up. “Our family was the perfectly imperfect example of a blue-collar, working class, lower-middle income family,” Chris explains, “complete with seasonal sports, Saturdays at the bowling alley, neighborhood BBQs, and a father who drank

far, far too much and too often.”

Chris found himself heading down a similar path until he eventually found solace, and a whole new world, through a private education, which led to eventual self-improvement. “I graduated with honors, was president of my dorm, president of my fraternity, and spent a year studying in Japan. I had conquered myself,” Chris proudly reveals. Carving his own path, Chris enlisted in the US Navy after college and later pursued his dream of becoming a firefighter.

The Mickles journey together took them through various jobs, cities, and even setbacks, like the dashed hopes of a move to Austin and the financial struggles of starting over in Dallas.

“After the job in Austin fell through, we loaded our cars with all we could carry and drove to Dallas with little to no money and no place to stay,”

Chris explains. “We found a room at a Budget Suites of America, and started working temp jobs until we could get situated. For the next few months, we lived on ramen, dollar movie nights, and public access computers and internet access at the public library of the local community college.”

But through it all, they remained resilient, driven by a shared vision of building a better life for their growing family.

From Banking to Real Estate: A Natural Progression

For Angel, the transition to real estate was a culmination of her diverse experiences, including stints in banking and mortgage services.

“I started to learn about mortgages,” she recalls, “and that was back in 2004 or so.” Her innate ability to connect with people and her background in finance laid a solid foundation for her eventual leap into the world of real estate.

Chris’s journey took a slightly different route, from the Navy to firefighting and eventually to real estate. “I went to Champions, got my real estate license, and started working as a showing assistant,” he explains. His unique perspective as a former firefighter brings a sense of calm and reliability to his role, traits that clients deeply appreciate.

A Team Built on Trust and Integrity

The Mickle Team’s success isn’t just measured in numbers; it’s reflected in the lives they touch and the relationships they build. “Our philosophy from the very beginning has always been simple,” Chris shares. “If you take exceptionally good care of people, they will take care of you.”

Her entry into real estate wasn’t immediate; it was a carefully considered decision, aligning with her desire for flexibility. “I wanted a career that would allow me the flexibility to be able to be actively involved in my son’s school and travel to his competitive tennis matches,” Jan explains. This transition occurred when her son entered high school, marking the beginning of a remarkable real estate career.

From Advertising to Real Estate: A Journey of Versatility

Before stepping into the world of real estate, Jan wore various professional hats. “I designed promotions for an advertising agency,” she notes, reflecting on her versatile background. Her earlier experiences included marketing and sales training for entertainment giants like Showtime, HBO, and The Movie Channel, both in Dallas and New York City. This experience has been an invaluable resource to draw upon in positioning her client’s homes to stand out in this competitive marketplace.

Fast forward to the present, Jan’s passion for real estate lies in her team providing a concierge-style service to her clients. “We focus on having fewer clients and giving them 120% of our attention,” she emphasizes. “All of our clients receive the same white-glove care, whether they are in the $200k or multi-million dollar price point. Roots and Wings

God and family are the cornerstones of Jan’s life. With a son, a daughter-in-law, and two adorable grandchildren in Celina, family gatherings are filled with love and laughter. “I am also fortunate enough to have my mother, sister and brother-inlaw within a half hour drive as well,” Jan adds.

In September 2023, Jan added another chapter to her personal story by getting married to a wonderful man named Richard Nordman. She stated that finding love later in life is truly a blessing. Weekends will find them in fellowship and worship at Gateway Church in Frisco. Interestingly, real estate runs in the family, as her new husband, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law have been long-time, top-producing agents at Ebby Halliday.

A recent trip to Bali, Indonesia, for a milestone birthday was a testament to her going the distance for her love of exploration.

For up-and-coming Real Producers, Jan shares valuable advice: “Learn to let stuff go!” Recognizing the abundance of business in the industry, she encourages a healthy perspective on competition. “We weren’t meant to get every listing. There is plenty of business out there for us all,” she affirms. Collaboration, according to Jan, is key, emphasizing the importance of a winwin approach for all parties involved in a transaction. “If you don’t get a listing that you thought you might get, have a 5-minute funeral and figure out what you might do differently next time, and then let it go!”

As Jan envisions the future, her goals revolve around maintaining the personal touch in her real estate business. “In this age of technology, it is easy to communicate mostly via text and email. I want to keep the personal connection a priority,” she asserts. Jan aspires to be remembered for her compassion, empathy, and tenacity—qualities that define her both professionally and personally.

The best advice Jan ever received— “Don’t take things personally”—came from her mentor, Debbie Cooper. Jan recognizes the deeply personal and emotional nature of real estate transactions and emphasizes the importance of maintaining professionalism amidst the highs and lows.

Teresa’s story begins in the vibrant metropolis of Tianjin, the third largest city in China, where she was raised amidst the rich tapestry of Chinese culture. Reflecting on her upbringing, Teresa fondly recalls, “My last name in Chinese is very special and is from the emperor’s family of the Qing Dynasty. Some friends often jokingly call me the Empress.”

With a thirst for knowledge and a drive for success, Teresa excelled academically, graduating from one of Tianjin’s top high schools before embarking on her educational journey in the United States. Armed with a degree in computer science from the University of Maryland and a master’s in computer engineering and telecommunications from George Washington University, Teresa forged a successful career in the tech industry, honing her skills as a senior business analyst.

However, Teresa’s path took a serendipitous turn when she discovered her innate talent for fostering connections and understanding people’s needs. “I found myself better at helping people in analyzing their needs than finding a bug in a piece of programming code,” Teresa reflects, highlighting the pivotal moment that led her to transition into the realm of real estate.

In 2008, Teresa obtained her real estate license, laying the foundation for a career defined by compassion, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. “Helping agents grow their business and helping clients find the right fit,” Teresa shares passionately, underscoring her commitment to nurturing talent and facilitating meaningful relationships within her brokerage.

The campaign’s focus on REALTOR® value is supplemented by the fourth season of NAR’s docuseries “First-Time Buyer,” now available to stream on Hulu and FirstTimeBuyer.realtor. Filmed in Chicago, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa, NAR’s unscripted television series follows individuals and

families through their first homebuying journeys, highlighting the indispensable role of REALTORS® in helping these buyers secure their dream homes. Through practical examples, the series demystifies complex concepts like HUD and VA loans, strategies for building equity, and the unique intricacies of condo purchases.
