By Dave Scott We all have annual commitments in life, joyful moments we honour… in a lot of cases, it may be that once a year gathering of friends… perhaps it is a BBQ, to watch a game, or just hang out… we look forward to them… it keeps us together when life gets busy! This story is about four fellas, John & Ken Heighington, Bob Thompson and Charlie Wray, who every Thanksgiving Monday would travel to Lake St. Clair for a day of musky fishing

aboard Jim Fleming’s charter boat, Drifter II… this annual trip had become a tradition that each member of the group looked forward to. Any of us who has such a yearly event, can appreciate the bond that these men have… nothing better than being out on the water with your pals… sharing a few laughs and in search of that perfect musky. Tragedy struck the group in January 2011, when Ken lost his battle with cancer… Charlie wanted to honour his fallen friend by continuing
the Thanksgiving tradition and filming an episode of his show, The Fishful Thinking Show, in Ken’s memory. Last October 10th, Charlie and Terry Wray, John Heighington and Jim Fleming along with Charlie’s cameraman, Chris Atkins, headed out on Lake St. Clair, on a summer like day, in search of the perfect musky! The Fishful Thinking Show will air Sunday, April 1st at 8:30 am on TVtropolis in honour of Ken… so tune in and enjoy, as these men pay tribute to a friend!
