Vox Suavis attempts to build bridges from medieval and Renaissance music of cultured roots to the popular music of oral tradition. One of their basic premises is that the study and interpretation of traditional music facilitates the interpretation of early music, which amplifies the ongoing dialogue between both musical styles. The group interprets repertoires with common features, making the most of the contrast. With this in mind, Vox Suavis presents pieces of music coming from different regions on the Iberian Peninsula (Extremadura, Avila, Santander, Andalucia, etc.) and from different cultural contexts (Sephardic communities, Galican-Portuguese songs or songs from the 13th, 15th and 16th centuries). A wide-ranging repertoire performed by several musicians, all trained in the field of early music. Ana Arnaz began her musical studies in the Miguel Fleta school in Huesca (Spain). She gained a higher diploma in singing at the conservatory of the Liceo in Barcelona with a mention of honour. She began specialising in early music in Basel with teachers Dominique Vellard and Richard Levitt, at the Schola Cantorum. Together with Vox Suavis she has founded the La Cecchina ensembles for European Baroque music, and Ex Luce for contemporary and folk music. She has performed at several festivals in Europe and made several tours of the US. She has performed in concerts and recorded with early music ensembles such as the

He continued his training at the Centre for Medieval Music in Paris, where he specialised in medieval and Renaissance repertoire and studied song, early bagpipe, and viola with Marco Horvat, Jasmin Martorell and Lucie Jolivet as his teachers. He is currently studying at the Schola Cantorum in Basel with Dominique Vellard, Randall Cook and Crawford Young; at the same time he is attending ensemble classes by Pierre Hamon at the Higher National Conservatory at Lyon. He regularly works with the ensembles of Gilles Binchois (Dominique Vellard), La Morra (Mixaj Gondko), Leones (Marc Lewon) and Les Jardins de Courtoisie (Anne Quentin). Tobie Miller studied flauta de beso and concert flute in Canada (McGill University: Bachelor of music, honours, 2004), and continued her specialisation studies in early music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Corina Marti, Kathrin Bopp, Dominique Vellard and Sharon Weller as her teachers.
