I am so excited for 2025! Behind the scenes, NJDA leadership and staff have been working for more than a year to make 2025 a tranformative year for our organization. I’m glad we can finally share more details with you.
I am so proud that NJDA’s Trustees and Delegates stepped up and voted to have New Jersey lead the way as one of a handful of states participating in an upgraded membership experience. You can read more about that in this booklet but the main takeaway is that next year your membership will cost less and you’ll have more options to customize your member experience.
CE and social events are a big part of membership and we have been busy re-imagining how we can deliver the most meaningful experiences to members. One of the highlights of this effort is the combining and revamping of three of our signature programs into a multiday event - save May 16 and 17 on your calendar now and flip the page for more!
NJDA’s mission going back more than 150 years includes serving both dentistry and oral health. To aid in those efforts, we are proud to have established the New Jersey Dental Foundation and look forward working with members to roll that out to the public next year.
I should also mention that 2025 is a state license renewal year. Once again, you can count on NJDA to provide the most affordable and convienent way to earn your state-mandated courses through our online Licensure Requirements Series and monthly CPR training at NJDA HQ.
I hope you are as excited about next year as I am. Thank you for sticking with NJDA and embarking on these exciting changes with us!

In 2025, membership will cost less! The annual cost of local, state, and national membership has been reduced by more than $250 - and includes the same member benefits you have come to count on. Our organizations are leveraging strategic partnerships and developing new products and services to diversify our revenue bases. This approach reduces the reliance on traditional dues revenue to support the needs of the membership - and the savings have been passed on to you.

NJDA recently welcomed two new staff members to the Government Affairs team. Orville Morales, who was born and raised in Passaic/Bergen County, has joined the staff as the new Director of Advocacy and Health Affairs. Orville brings almost 20 years of experience in advocacy, education, and government affairs to his new position. His past roles include serving as Public Liaison to one of New Jersey’s longest-serving members of Congress, as well as an adjunct professor at Montclair State University teaching health administration and policy. For the last decade, Orville has been passionately committed to improving access to care, and his leadership will be instrumental in advancing our advocacy goals.
NJDA is also excited to welcome Javier Perez, our new Dental Practice and Dental Policy Coordinator. A Biomedical Engineering major and Political Science minor graduate at Rutgers University, Javier is well-prepared to support our members’ dental practice needs and help drive policy forward.
Orville and Javier are currently focused on several important initiatives including:
Senate Bill 1479: We are actively working to find more sponsors for this critical legislation, which authorizes healthcare providers to negotiate with carriers on both fee- and non-fee-related matters.
Assembly Bill 1896: The adoption of the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact, which will streamline licensure processes across state lines, remains a top priority.
Managed Care Transparency: We continue to push Managed Care Organizations to be more transparent about their Medical and Dental Loss Ratios, ensuring premiums are used to benefit patient care directly.
These efforts, along with many others, reflect our commitment to advancing the dental profession. Please do not hesitate to email Orville Morales, omorales@njda.org orJavier Perez, jperez@njda.org with any questions or concerns.
