NEURODIVERSITY WEEK BAKE SALE

On Friday 22nd March during Neurodiversity Week, we held a bake sale to raise money and awareness for the Autism café Ealing, which is part of the London Autism Group Charity

The community cafe provides a safe space where anyone is welcome to relax, meet other members of the Autistic community and socialise in a supportive environment The bake sale was a huge success and was the perfect way to end our neurodiversity week and raise awareness for this amazing local charity. Where does our £1 go?

As previously mentioned, The money collected from World Book Day had contributed to the international charity organisation, Book Aid Book Aid mainly focuses on increasing the accessibility to books and educational resources within developing countries, who may lack sufficient reading materials. Book Aid attempts to support both libraries and schools within these communities by providing novels that contribute to literacy development Specifically it can help provide a novel to those who might not have access to one Thus giving them the opportunity to stem a passion into the world of literature Your £1 helps bring the transformative power of reading to those who need it most. Overall, all of these aspects emphasise how privileged we are to be exposed to such resources, whilst also highlighting how impactful our contributions can be Sophia Y12

EALING WINTER NIGHT SHELTER

This year we have been continuing our efforts with the Ealing Winter Night Shelter, a charity that houses and supports the homeless during the challenging winter months.

We have supported the charity by giving students and their families the opportunity to cook warm meals and desserts for the guests that are helped by the charity’s work The guests always really appreciate the food they are given, and the staff are very welcoming and often have very positive feedback!

This is an incredible opportunity to help those around us, and a very enriching and enjoyable experience
