Church Group Uses Hobby Time To Help Others
By Elsie Walker Everything goes with a prayer,” explained Lynn Zaremba, pastor of the Stanhope United Methodist Church. She was talking about the items being made by the church’s hobby club. Those items include shawls and lap blankets for residents of nursing homes as well as blankets to be given to babies baptized in the church. The hobby club meets the second Saturday of each month from 10:30 a.m. – noon at the church in Netcong. Members of the community are welcomed to join them or to let them know of nursing home residents who would like a

shawl or lap blanket. For more information, call the church at 973-347-0247. Church member, Lynn Gremmo of Sparta, explained that the hobby club grew out of congregation members’ desire to socialize outside of the church’s Sunday hospitality time, which follows the service, and also a desire to do something to benefit the community using their talents. Saturday was selected as the meeting day as that was thought to be the day most people were available. During their first two meetings, they talked about what they could do. They thought of the shawls and continued on page 2
