Versatile Weiss German-engineered climate test chambers T est whatever you like from seasonal differences to different climatic zones – your products must be able to withstand a variety of temperatures during manufacturing, transport, storage and use. The Climate Test Chambers, ClimeEvent from Weisstechnik, are available locally from Labotec, and will help you to test the influence of temperature and humidity on the properties, function and lifespan of your products. Reproducible, certified and under accelerated conditions. The Weisstechnik ClimeEvent climate test chamber is setting standards in the fields of performance, future-proofing and usability. A new refrigerant makes ClimeEvent extremely eco- and user-friendly. Optimised air guidance also

s commercial and municipal labs are pressured to provide higher productivity with fewer personnel, automated systems can help provide support for sample preparation. The Biotage Horizon 5000 system automates extraction of semi/nonvolatile organic compounds from drinking water, wastewater, seawater and other types of liquid samples using solid phase extraction (SPE) disks. The entire process is computer controlled and can process a sample unattended with checks to assure that a sample is not lost. The Biotage Horizon 5000 is a threeposition automated disk extraction system that conditions the disk, loads the sample (20mL to 2L) and elutes the analytes all without intervention! Up to 12 samples can be run at one time, without emulsions forming. A benchtop system with optional use in a hood, the 5000 module is a rugged system incorporating clean materials to allow extraction of low concentration compounds. The system offers several features that facilitate ease-of-use including the ability to run previously developed methods with just a few clicks. It also offers the flexibility to optimise many parameters for the best performance in recovery and precision of desired analytes. Using the Biotage Horizon 5000 with Atlantic SPE Disks and Pacific Oil & Grease Disks offers a complete workflow approach for environmental sample management.
delivers best-in-class performance. The innovative WEBSeason user interface allows you to program, control and monitor your tests anywhere, anytime – even from your tablet or smartphone.
Overview of customer benefits: • The new refrigerant R449A is used in all ClimeEvent Climate Test Chambers. The GWP value of just 1397 ensures safe usage even after 2030, and the refrigerant does not have to be replaced. This makes the equipment easier to maintain and more environmentally friendly. • The test chamber floor is made of highly-alloyed, extra corrosion-resistant stainless steel 1.4404. Thanks to special welding, smooth surfaces, rounded corners and complex stamped grid layers, the test chamber is easy to clean. Standard humidity bath flushing prevents contamination of humidification water. • The humidity of the test space air is measured according to the
internationally valid psychrometric measuring principle. The life time of the psychrometer wick is considerably increased due to a selfcleaning mechanism. • The smartly engineered air guidance and the supply and exhaust air control system comes as standard, ensuring the best performance in its class for ClimeEvent. • WEBSeason web-based user interface can be used to program, control and monitor your tests anywhere at any time, even from your tablet or smartphone. Language and units can be set to suit the user and the settings can be saved. In this way, WEBSeason provides a new dimension of flexibility and efficiency. spirata is one of the leading laboratory service providers in southern Africa with custom-built, state-of-the-art chemical and microbiological laboratories enabling them to provide a broad range of testing and examination services. Being a leading service provider in the establishment of safe and healthy living, working and recreational environments, Aspirata recently invested in a Metrohm Ion Chromatography system. The Metrohm 930 Compact Flex IC has two detectors, viz. the 944 UV/VIS Detector as well as a Conductivity detector and is coupled to an 858 Sample processor that can handle up to 178 samples. Samples are analysed for Volatile and Non-Volatile acids as well as Chrome VI.
The system allows Aspirata to exploit two of the Metrohm Inline Sample preparation (MISP) techniques, viz. in-line Pre-concentration followed by Matrix Elimination to assist in the low ppb detection levels of Chrome VI. Furthermore, samples that fall outside the calibration range are automatically logically diluted and re-injected without the analyst having to lift a finger, thereby greatly enhancing the laboratory’s output while saving time and money.
