It was a privilege to be involved in AC/DC’s return to touring, following their 8-year hiatus
The POWER UP tour incorporated a number of outdoor, green field locations, with capacities ranging between 80,000 – 105,000
These varied sites called for a considered approach and close collaboration between Neg Earth Lights, Lighting Designer, Terry Cook, and the wider Woodroffe Bassett Design team to ensure the bands vision was achieved, both in terms of creativity and fan interaction
With our close supplier relationships, Neg Earth Lights are well positioned to access the newest industry technology available and have been investing in IP65-rated lighting fixtures for many years This enabled us to meet Terry’s design requirements not only in terms of delivering new to market fixtures, but also in our ability to provide a system which did not require additional weatherproofing – ensuring the robust, reliable system also had a clean aesthetic.
A large-scale production such as this requires careful planning to enable it to be toured effectively and efficiently
However, we pride ourselves on both our preparation and ingenuity and, through research and collaboration, were able to develop a system which transitioned seamlessly between venues by way of automated truss, custom fabricated rigging solutions and bespoke equipment transport methods to allow for the safe and timely delivery of the lighting system every night

Neg and the team consistently provide solutions for complex lighting setups, ensuring safety and efficiency for the crew. They work tirelessly to adapt to different situations, languages, and crews, making the process seamless and successful
“There were 100's of solutions that were provided where Neg and the team are amazing is they don’t tell you the million reasons why they can’t happen, they find a solution I draw the light; I make sure the light is in a safe accessible position but it’s the team here at Neg that work out how to get that light into that position. Not only safety for the light but for the crew... that’s the real specialty in the process to be honest”
“Neg Earth Lights are clever because they utilize parts from metal work that they have in their workshop, so we are recycling, which is great to hear, and it also has a cost saving It’s really important to re-use, re-conceive old bits of equipment that could be in the warehouse."
