I EVERYONE
Well yet another month of nothing happening locally with motorsport. We were supposed to have a Club meeting in September, but that didn’t happen. Lots of events have been cancelled or postponed, including our own event the Yarra Valley Stages. This event is scheduled for November. (Covid rules pending) So, on the upshot, there is not much to report. At the Acropolis Rally in Greece there was lots of happenings. Some crashes, equipment failure and rain and mud. Then there was the poor guy whose power steering failed. It was hard going for him. (Try complaining to someone who doesn’t usually have such a luxury in their car!) Then there was the guy who complained about the driver who doesn’t know how to park his car properly. Maybe he shouldn’t have tried to nick his spot! I am sure others will disagree with me, but that’s what makes life interesting in a free world. Stay safe and well everyone, oh, and get vaxxed up…. - Vicki Curry, Secretary.

Let’s hope it does not fall victim of Lunatic Andrews Illegal lock downs and be cancelled. I think we all have had enough of this draconian bullying on our once peaceful and energetic lives. Good luck for all when the event runs.
How good was the Dees’ win! After 57 years, what an achievement! Many celebrations were had. Great to see a Victorian team win again. That’s all from me at present! - Gordon Ledwidge, Treasurer.

At the time of writing this we had 336 members in the club. It seems we may have opportunities to get some of the H cars out for a spin in November.
Next month the club hopes to run the Western Vic Crane Trucks Valley Stages, I know we will need to give Craig and his team a helping hand to get the event up and running, it will come down to the wire if the state gets the vax numbers we need to allow community sport. We got lucky last year so we can only hope for more good luck this year. Keep a lookout in the club magazine and on the Facebook page for more info. Short and sweet again this month. Fingers are crossed for Yarra valley to go ahead, the minimum amount of events have been run to have a 2021 series championship.
Lots of changes including the running of Mapped Events is being discussed within the Rally Panel for 2022 Series. More information to come once final decisions are made. GAIN NOT MUCH to say for autocross (VCAS) being stuck in the lockdown still, Round 9 at SEAC park doesn’t look like it will be going ahead either on the 10th of October and we can only hope that round 10 at Geelong motorsport complex goes ahead on the 21st of November. As you most likely can imagine there has not being a lot going on in Motorkhana land. It looks like the next scheduled event will be on November 7th (subject to confirmation). As far as other news our cars have been resting- Pulsar still on the trailer from the last event. You can tell a good Motorkhana car by the amount of grass growing on them and we have a bit of growth. The Skyline has been laying some rubber up the driveway and the Silvia survived the earthquake on the hoist. So what have you guys been doing with your cars? HEN MASON MESSAGED me and asked me to write about a memorable moment from the past, I though event. So what follows will be a few memories and will be in no way the total of my memories. I’m also k
They say you always remember your first and this much is true. In this case I’m referring to motorsport co some space ask if you could use it, then set up flags in milk bottles and away you go. The Challenge of Clubs in Benalla was another life changing moment. It was here I learnt that ambition and ability were ofte we didn’t have far to walk out of the forest.
This led me to becoming a “Gremlin” for the next two years. You see the then DCCA had a club service crew for all compe non-competing members and members of other sections of the club such as the racing or motorkhana enthusiasts.
We would service all crews as they came in. Clean lights, check oil, adjust brakes as a routine. Spares were always carrie too. We also lived by the military model that no man was left behind. So often it would be daylight by the time we pulled the to help out their fellow club members. It was such a wonderful camaraderie and DCCA/NCCA were the envy of the other car
